Harry Maguire involved in incident with police in Greece - conviction nullified by appeal, full retrial pending

And when they got arrested what happened to his sister? so many things need cleaning up.

He said his sister was in the van because they were wanting to go to the hospital. What have they done with Daisy?

I genuinely don't believe the Greek police so I suspect they turned up to the police station to make a complaint, being drunken english they decided to arrest the Maguire's because why not - and then Maguire kicked off at being falsely arrested for trying to get his sister help. As it calmed down he offered to pay his way out of there and once they realised who it was shat themselves and made up a story of being attacked first.

This will all get dropped with no charges as there's clearly no evidence apart from 1 "independant" police officer witness.
 
If his sister had a needle stuck in her arm. Should they not have done a blood test on her to see if there was anything in her system? It could have been a date rape type of drug.
 
This is going to get very ugly very soon. I don't think we know everything yet, the whole way how Greece police handled it, seems very very sketchy.
 
If the Greeks knew half of this would be said prior to the trial I am surprised that they haven't just tried to sweep it under the carpet, it makes them look a proper joke, incompetent and the island unsafe, all on the biggest media platform Mykanos has had, it is hardly going to do wonders for their tourist trade

Yep. If there is a sniff of gangsters and crooked police I wouldn't be going within a mile of the place.

Could just imagine the poor girl still sat in the van wondering where everyone is.
 
Seems like both sides lying through their teeth here. If you were at the police station why would you run from there to try to call the police? How do you stop a fight if there was no one fighting as according to the police the Albanians weren't there.
 
Two police officer similar testimonies in court must mean something? Even if it’s not true, Doesn’t look good does it?
 
One or both are lying about events. Sounds like a movie script.

Got the feeling both sides have gone to the extremes and now the story sounds ridiculous.

Evidence based on "he said/she said" without proof I.e. recordings, video etc. really doesn't go far in a court of law.

That's not how they say it went is it? Fight wasn't at the police station, they tried to get away from the fight after his sister was supposedly "stabbed with a needle", got into a van and asked to be taken to hospital but the van took them to the police station instead (probably as instructed by the officers that tried to break up the fight). There they were arrested (and according to Maguire kicked and told his career was over). That's how I interpret it anyway.
 
So there was a fight between Maguire's friend and some other guys. Who were or weren't Albanians. During that one of the Albanians struck a needle in Harry's sister arm. Police in plain clothes came and broke up a fight and then took Harry to the police station. Harry and his friends tried to escape and then tried to bribe the police in a police car/van/something else or did that in the station. But police didnt even know about the fight until Harry came to the station cause of the needle and his sister situation (or knew in advance cause of policemen in plain chlothes?).
Police knew who he was and told him his career is over, he said he's famous and rich and an United captain and he could pay them. Oh and Harry struck a policeman during a fight, right after an arrest or in the station. God knows where his sister was during all that time.

Did I miss something?
 
Maguire is not a dumb guy, no chance unless he was absolutely off his face (which is a possibility), he would have just called his lawyer and they would have sorted, it reeks of BS

yeah Harry injured the police officer when he realised he was in handcuffs and tried to escape to make a phone call

To be fair Keane and Neville would have knocked the cops out. So the hard man defence doesn't fly with me.
