Fergie fired the players and staff drinking booze didn't he. Got rid of the drinking culture.

Anyone caught drinking got a hairdryer blown on them
Mate that was Robson,McGrath,Whiteside who ran the dressing room. It had feck all to do with drinking more taking control

Apparently Macguire was arrested for holding someone else’s wife’s hand instead of his own.

People saying it's the other English group's fault for provoking him but he wasn't arrested for his altercation with them, the police separated them and then he attacked the police officers which is when they arrested him. This is disgraceful imo.
People saying....

it must be true

Hope he didn’t head-butt anyone — the cnut would’ve missed.

Contexts?

Since it's other Englishment I'm going to take a guess out of the blue:

Harry and friends are at bar, drunk

other Englishmen are at bar, drunk, recognises Harry Maguire - Starts to banter and harass, since they recognise Harry Maguire and think they're the coolest crew in town.

Harry's friends aren't having it, the cool Englishmen also aren't having it, words exchange, soon to be replaced with shoving and wrestling

Greek cops show up and arrest everyone.

Or was it Arsene Wenger, came in and changed the diets of players and practically all clubs followed suit in order to compete.
Wenger changed diets and training regimes and that was a few years later.
Don’t think Arsenal had a drinking culture but I’m sure the British contingent he inherited could put it away with the best of them

Is this enough to terminate Harrys contract if United wanted to? (theoretical question)

Classic English CB, old school. I didn't expect anything else from Harry, would have been disappointed if he chickened out. Showing some fight, not like Victor, probably sitting at home and watching Disney movies.

Also probably a bit frustrated by the lack of transfers, I don't blame him

Valencia didn't lead by example. Appointing him as captain was the single biggest sign that standards at this club hit rock bottom post-Ferguson. Valencia's final years consisted of his teammates noticeably ignoring him as a passing option, because they'd give him the ball and he's be too cowardly to do anything apart from the Valencia Shuffle of flexing his knees and then passing it back onside. When not on the pitch, the lad wouldn't even do his media duties and show any sign of public leadership. You have to really feck up to spend 10 years at United, become Club Captain and not be deemed worthy of a testimonial.
Just using him as an example because he was a captain that didn't talk so much... he probably wasn't the best example but I'm sure there have been others who had much bigger impacts on their teams and were less vocal.

Just saying there are different ways to lead a team. You can be vocal as hell, lead by example, both, or anything else that helps inspire the team.

Ensue: riot and tear gas. Mass self righteous hysteria on the Caf

Our captain.

Can we give it to someone like Rashford/Bruno who actually gives a good representation of the club?

To be entirely fair, this needs context. Harry might have had a perfectly good reason to be physical, we just don't know.

I'm more critical that people are vacationing abroad in a covid world still.

Frozen? It’s Scandinavian

Fair enough. I always had a maybe misplaced idea that players didn't drink. Maybe the odd one every few weeks.

It's fine, the fight would have been over by the time he got over there the slow cnut.

Am i doing it right?
Sigh.

Previous captains of United haven’t covered themselves in glory but were at least serial winners.

Maguire’s biggest claim to fame is being the mascot for Wickes, owing to his gigantic concrete head.
Rumour has it he head butted 14 lads all at once.
Bet they didn't have to run fast to arrest him .

What great leadership skills he has
Apparently Victor was there too but had well and truly gone missing when a physical square up presented itself
And where the hell was Lindelof? He let his partner down once again.
Always up for a fight but positioning is so bad he was not in the same pub.

There have been some absolute gems in this thread. Keep them coming please:lol:

Rather them than me trying to get Maguire in a headlock.

Fergie collects wine!
the drinking culture referred to some senior players getting seriously pissed in the week, prior to matches. Big Ron did feck all to stop it

Probably some Liverpool fans winding him up.

Anyone have any experience with the Greek police?

Only through comparable stories in the Norwegian media from Norwegian tourists who also got into a fight

"They arrested everyone and didnt even care to listen" was the jist of it. I'm guessing Greek police are sick and tired of tourists shit and just drag everyone to the slammer and ask questions later.

Glazers aren’t going to terminate 80 million pound asset and no, he’s arrested not proven guilty of anything. If he was, then possibly but he won’t, unless he did something so bad that United had no choice but to do it.

It’s what I’ve said. Happened to me and the party I was with.

This is also a good time to mention that Eric Cantona karate kicked a football fan in the face DURING a game, and most of us want a statue of the man outside Old Trafford

So you know, everyone should sit reeeal still in the boat here.

I hope our captain stages a dirty protest until we sign some fecking players.

Roy Keane was arrested in 1999 for fighting in a pub.
