Kane is in quarantine at the minute after coming back from somewhere.
From what I understand Bahamas was added to quarantine list while he was there? Also Kane wasn't getting pissed up with the lads and hitting the local police while he was there?

I can’t see what he has done wrong.

I'm English but left the UK to live overseas with all these baton-happy police over 15 years ago. Amazingly, I've never once had a problem despite going out on the lash, being English and no doubt drinking to excess on dozens of occasions.

I've seen with my own eyes this happen for no apparent reason.

Well, you actually waive that right if you're intoxicated so no you don't have the right to defend yourself. You have a right if you believe your life, or the life of another, is in danger but you're not deemed fit to make that judgement if you're intoxicated and therefore lose the right to self-defence.
If police officers are piling onto your friend/family beating them with bats I think you’d be within your rights to push a few off and deck 1 personally.

police are there to keep the peace not create them.

Again i'm a boring prat, but why are you nearly 30 and on a lads holiday to Greece.

Just because you’ve got no mates to go on holiday with why is that an issue?

rashford and Williams are also there too btw.

What an idiot.

That should be the end of his day's as captain. Giving a new player the captain armband made little sense then again United lack leaders and had Ashley Young captain before him.

I mean I’d definitely be trying to bribe my way out if I was loaded.

Not a single piece of footage been seen or leaked, hard to make an opinion when there is plenty of baton happy police in European countries.
Makes a refreshing change from 'cancel his contract, punch his mum and give him the death penalty'.

Kudos.

Maguire, whoa-oh!
Maguire, woah-oh!
Went on hols to Greece
fecked up some police
Maguire, woah-oh!

If my mate would go to Greece and visit bars I would critise him for it.

Basically - yes. Here and now - absolutely yes. It's unnecessary. And if you have money to burn, and feel obliged to contribute to the Greek economy (or any economy) - I'm sure you can find some way to do that without physically traveling there.

Order feta cheese online - I dunno.

Really poor decision making to find himself this exposed with his profile. Surely someone should have spotted the potential for this coming? How bad could this actually be if he gets convicted? How much jail time? Will it affect his eligibility to travel in the EU for European games?

Something, something Souness meme, something, Lindelof, something...

More that the authorities in these situations are very good at painting things in a particular light with the ultimate goal of getting a nice payday from it. Not defending Maguire at all as he clearly put himself in this position but I would not be remotely surprised if his role is being grossly exaggerated as he is the golden ticket in this situation. Small town authorities all over the world excel at this kind of thing and have done since time immemorial, money will talk and Harry will walk.
For this to be true, it should have already been resolved AND NOT be officially charged with allegations written up as a case.

unless you’re saying the authorities are making this as big as possible to ensure the Maguire will have to pay an even bigger Brindle as he now also has to corrupt the local judge as well as the police?

I doubt it, that’s not how this racket works.

Standard.

Crikey. Some people live very different lives to me. I go away with the lads at least once a year. It’s not a lads lads lads type affair but still, it’s definitely not ended when we were nearing 30 and I hope it doesn’t when we’re nearing 40.

Mykonos is one of the few cities I'm mad I didn't go to while I was in Europe. English guys were probably bantering.

It's coming from someone who gave up drink a couple of years ago tbf.

A neighbour of mine is nearly 70 and had to cancel a lads holiday abroad earlier in the pandemic, they go every year and have done for years. Age doesn't seem to come into it.

Saw this on another forum

Let's be honest, a partner beside him with more pace and physicality would have covered for Maguire while he clotheslined the first policeman. Someone fast like Upamecano would have prevented Maguire from being caught out. Or even better, a lefty to complement Harry's right hook. It's clear Lindelof isn't the right starting option.

De Gea for me. And i don't care about that shit how gk can't be captain and shit like that. He should have been captain when Young left anyway.
That's asking for trouble with De Gea more concerned about keeping his place in the XI.

You presume the club gave them permission to go there and the club checked if it was safe to go there.
They did. There was an article the other day about Rashford and Lingard being over there and having to be on alert and ready to leave in case Greece was added to the quarantine list as training begins Sept 1st. Maguire being in Greece isn’t the issue, him potentially smacking a police officer is

I'm 38 and I still go to Ibiza, Portugal etc with my mates.

I also work 2 jobs and have a normal family life like most people.

Why stop doing things that you enjoy just because you hit 30?

It's good to still connect and socialise with other people.

When he will return from jail in Jan, it will be like a new signing.

Really doesn't matter what you think. I don't think any lawyer would use your speech here as a defence in court. You're not within your rights, that's just a fact that you don't need to try and argue against.

Basically yes, this is a well known tactic.

obviously they’ve just realised theyve got harry maguire in the cell and are now trying to make it seem proper serious so they haven’t just arrested him for nothing.

they’ll drop the chargers after no further evidence was provided.
