I honestly think it would take a bid over £100 million to even make Levy consider it. It would need to destroy the previous world record.
I know I don't agree with you about goalkeeper valuations but I think you are spot on here - cannot see Levy even considering anything that isn't over 100m.
And he knows everyone knows it so you are probably looking more like 130m in his head.

Maybe not, but the idea of doubling your income for the best part of a decade will appeal to anyone. The like of Giggs, Gerrard, Scholes etc were hardly underpaid by comparison to thier compatriots in the market.

I concur. This is a possible scenario. I think it will 100% be to an English club. I don't think he has enough ability to ever attract the likes of Barca, Bayern, Real.
I forsee a scenario where he wins feck all in the next 2 seasons, whilst getting paid less than half what players he would be statistically outperforming are getting. Loyalty is a two way street. If you value your player at 200m, or whatever ridiculous fee is being thrown about, then you must pay him the going rate of a 200m player (whatever the feck that is) 300k?
To compound that he's going to see his English teammates, likes of Sterling earning double his wage at a team which will be challenging for most of the trophies. I think this will be enough to make him think hard about his future.

This is the general consensus around here and it is, quite frankly, the only logical outcome should Levy insist on paying his players a salary unbefitting their ability.
Nothing will happen this summer, that's a given considering the circumstances, still it's fun to propagate the idea if only to put the wind up the Spurs fans somewhat.
I suspect a lot will change in terms of finances in the club in the coming seasons which will include a significant increase in our top wages.
Obviously Daniel Levy is no fool, he will be fully aware of the situation surrounding his players in terms of their comparative wage in relation to their ability and those interested parties waiting in the wings for the slightest sign of discontent, and plans to do everythign in his power to make it right. Simply a matter of if and when at this point.

inversely I cant see how any business can offer such money for a player - unless they can see a strategy to ensure the investment is going to payback itself - which means inversely inversley that a business can turn down 100mill!!

He is my dream signing of this summer but it'll take a lot more than a £100 million to turn Levy's head.
He is ambitious but so are the club - if we can match his ambition then I see no reason why he would ever look to leave as he is Spurs through and through. A lot will change in the next few years at Spurs and the club have the ambition to be one of the biggest clubs in the world who can consistently challenge for titles and trophies. If we can get there then Kane will stay, if we don't then Kane could walk away in a few years which would be a real shame but personally I'm optimistic when I see the plans in place for the club and from what I can tell so is Kane.
Did I just read that Harry Kane isn't worth a £100m? Considering the current transfer climate, I would say that at £100m, Harry Kane might be a bit of a bargain. If he was available for that price, we would snap him up. Maybe he's not Suarez or Lewandowski level yet, but no doubt he's one of the best strikers in the world.
On the subject of Shearer do people believe Kane can become as good as him? And more importantly do we think Shearer was world class? I'd certainly answer yes to the first question.
It's Daniel Levy you're talking about, I don't think he would take anything less than £120m to sell him to another club in the Premiership.
Can answer the 2nd part but not the 1st. Shearer was definitely world class. In fact he's the best English number 9 I've seen in my lifetime (watching football for about 25 years). Like Kane, didn't have express pace. But could bang them in with either foot from 25+ yards out, excellent in the air, great touch, could score all kinds of goals, had a very good cross on him and could bring other players into play around him.
On Kane, I haven't seen much of him but have only really seen him in United games. In those games, he's done precisely nothing until he scored with that instinctive finish in the most recent dead rubber game at WHL. So I'm not that excited or impressed by him for that reason. In fact, for most of the games he's played against us he's been outright bad. I'm sure had I seen more of him I'd be more excited about any prospect of United getting him, of which there probably isn't much in the near future.

£100 million won't sign Kane man. There is a 100% chance Levy refuses. who would Spurs sign for £100 mill, to replace Kanes goals/importance to the team? Every striker is overpriced. Levy got burned with Bale money and Spurs are in the Champions League and getting a new stadium. What is the 100 million going to actually do for their aspirations? They are not West Brom or some hard up club that needs to sell. I think many on here are delusional about Spurs current position. They are in the top 15 riches clubs in the world.

All I said was I wasn't excited about the prospect of buying him because I'd only seen him be mostly bad against United. I even said had I seen more of him, I'm sure I'd have a different opinion. He has a great goal-scoring record, so I'm sure there's plenty to get excited about. I just haven't had a chance to see it myself.
