Harry Kane

Well, I have the evidence of the last 9 years to go on - as well as information provided by people with good connections to Spurs - whereas you have only 'reports' that both Modric and Bale freely chose to go abroad and could have chosen to go to another Prem club if they wished.
Would you cry if Kane left for Old Trafford this August? What would be the state of the Spurs fans meltdown?

I've always seen Kane as a future United player, genuinely.

'Kane' on the back of a United shirt just seems right, always has.
Replace 'kane' with 'bale' and we're back to the early 2010s on the caf. Will also not happen.

What's the point in asking about events that are never going to happen? You might as well ask about the sun failing to rise tomorrow.

The likes of Alli and Kane will leave Spurs to win major honours like Bale and Modric both did.

I have a feeling about this. Genuinely I think it will happen ... or at very least, Spurs will have their resolve seriously tested.

You are just assuming now

If United want to waste their summer in posturing and chasing the unattainable, then no-one will be happier than Spurs and United's other rivals.

We do that every season

And you are not paying Kane enough, so its a perfect storm in the making

Spurs won't sell this season, maybe in a few more years.

Mainly due to the fact I think they won't win anything and Harry will want out.

A 'storm in the fevered imaginations of some United fans perhaps. For Levy it's more like a gentle breeze on a summer's day picnic.

For arguments sake, let's assume that Kane were to join United this summer. What sort of impact do you think this would have on Spurs in general?

Obviously a bad impact. Any replacement would be inferior, the fans would be up in arms and all prospective sponsorship deals with the club - including in relation to the new stadium - would be negatively affected.

Well in that case, GET IT SORTED ED!

I'm gonna stock up on popcorn in preparation for this meltdown of biblical proportions. It's gonna be great!

That's a tad dramatic. They'd probably buy a top tier replacement for less money and move on, surely? They'd have their pick of most strikers in the world.

Delude yourself all you like... Unless you pay up AND win consistantly he is leaving sooner or later. Thats just footballing business in the todays world.

Wasn't he an arsenal youth?... "one of our own"?
He gets it, you seemingly dont.

If anything, it understates the impact. Pochettino would likely resign and a player exodus would follow.

For all these reasons and more, Kane to United is simply not going to happen ... even if you throw £180m at it.

Thats bullshit and you know it. Money talks even for Levy. IF we threw 180m we get literally get any player in this world including Messi and Neymar.

Yeah ... a bit like going to cinema to watch a blockbuster film, all comfy and excited in your seat, only to discover that the projector has broken down and the cinema manager has climbed onto the stage to deliver a 30 minute speech of apology.

It isn't bullshit. Kane is the club icon. Pochettino wouldn't stand for it, nor would the fans ... and nor would Levy, who is right in the middle of negotiating stadium naming rights - which might go as high as £400m - and other commercial deals for which Kane's shining star is important.

Spurs are not in need of money - we're in financial good health and there is plenty of cash coming our way.

Id the stadium going to be named after Kane?!:eek:

Don't see what Kane has to do with new stadium marketing. With the $$$ that it will cost us, you'll be able to sign an amazing replacement anyway.

The amount of any naming rights deal is partly tied to the prestige and quality of the team playing in that stadium: without Kane both are significantly diminished.

In any case, we wouldn't be able to sign a striker as good as Kane or even close to it.

Lewandowski?

Lewandowski?

He'll be 29 this August. And why would he leave B. Munich to come to Spurs? And even if he did want to come, why would we wish to bust wide open our wages structure in order to match or exceed what he's probably on right now?

Well, he's better than Kane, and if he wanted to come you could afford him if we seriously paid you some of the ridiculous sums being thrown about.

Ronaldo Kane
Neymar Pogba Matic Bale

Looking pretty good. We'll probably end up with ten midfielders though.

If Kane is going to leave it's not going to be this summer. He's going to move to club who can guarantee him to win the league. And no club in PL can convince him at the moment.

Of course Spurs would sell him and he'd come if the money was right.

I have no idea what the number would be but every single player has there price.

It's nonsense and it won't happen anyway. Kane would be tremendous but he's not going anywhere this summer.

Not happening, why would he leave Spurs this summer. He loves the club, they are in the CL and the team are progressing. Oh and Daniel Levy, whatever you think Kane is worth throw another £50m on to that. Kane won't push for the move and Spurs don't need to sell. Kane is excellent, he could leave Spurs in a few years if they don't start winning trophies.

Like they have a say. What world do you live in?
If Kane is so important, why dont spurs show that in his wages? Lots of clubs will double what you can offer.

He's on fullback wages not top striker wages. And thats the button to push. Its a huge weakness.

This is true.

Unlikely he leaves this summer but possibly within two years. Definitely if they don't start paying him mega money.
Yep, it is highly unlikely. But we could rock the boat a little. Force the spuds hand in the money department, as it were!

According to reports he earns as much as £130k per week with bonuses and incentives ... that's plenty and hardly fullback wages. And no one forced him sign the long contract which delivers this.

It seems to burn a lot of folks that Spurs have so many excellent players, whilst other clubs - like United - shell out stupid sums on transfers fees and wages for inferior players. Instead of moaning that Spurs should pay more, they'd do well to look at the way their own clubs are run.

Yes and remind us who is the current golden boot winner for the second season in a row. I'll give you a clue

1. Harry Kane 29
2.Romelu Lukaku 25
3.Alexis Sánchez 24
4.Sergio Agüero 20
5.Diego Costa 20
7.Zlatan Ibrahimovic 17
8.Eden Hazard 16

Tell me who gets paid the least in this group of leading goal scorers from last season?

He does more and gets paid less and yet you think he should accept that just because he is your hero or whatever. Its about all it amounts to! Wonder how long until he decides its pay me what im worth time. I know you hope he'll bide his time untill 2020 by which time you think their will be extra cash to afford him. But without winning, why would anybody wait 24-36 months when he could get it now or in 12?

If Spurs have the league's leading goal-scorer, but it costs us less in wages than inferior goal-scorers (never mind the zero transfer fee), then that's a cause for celebration amongst Spurs fans is it not?

I'm not sure why you are moaning about it. As I said before, you should be applauding Spurs and taking a good hard look at why other clubs get less but pay more for it.

As to your question, it assumes that Kane is not under contract (a contract which he gladly signed a short time ago) and could just up sticks whenever he chooses, without waiting. He can't. And nor does he show the slightest sign of wanting to.

Kane is going nowhere this summer. Any team would love to have him but he will stay at Spurs next season. However, should Spurs not make top 4 next season(a real possibility imo with their games at Wembley and losing Walker and possibly Rose) then all bets are on again and we would have a real chance to swoop. Think he would be the perfect striker for us too.
