They will if they dont make the Champions League this season and he hands in a transfer request.

Not sure they will personally although it does predicate on him not handing a transfer request! Missing out on the Champions League is not as big of a deal as it once was due to the TV deal.

Spurs are tight financially because of the stadium. If they still have europa it will be a 30 million hit so probably will limit their transfer budget. If totally out of Europe, the fewer matches played (maybe 15 in lost ticket revenue) plus 45 million reduced TV revenue could really hurt.

Not a big deal for Spurs in terms of revenue but its a huge deal for the player of Kane's magnitude. Being one of the best players in the game and not playing for a big team in the Champions League wont go down well with Kane.

Correction: Spurs have been (for many years) financially tight because of the stadium. But next season we'll get a huge boost to our income from that new stadium: ticket sales, naming rights, corporate boxes, merchandising, foot & drink sales, NFL football, entertainment events and more.

It's pure wishful thinking to imagine that Spurs might be forced to sell Kane - or even attracted to the idea of selling Kane - because of finances.

Typical English overrating here IMO. This match we were our own enemy, nothing Kane did caused this 2-0.
Well seeing as you still rate Smalling and Jones after closely monitoring them, I doubt in your ability to spot a talent.

He did make Jones and Smalling look like bumbling idiots though.

You don't actually need to be Messi to make Jones and Smalling look like bumbling idiots. One can't pass the ball to save his England career while the other is a doctor's delight. I can't wait for Bailly to be back and Tuanzebe to be given a run in defense at CB. Honestly, Jose needs to trust Tuanzebe next season.

And yet they got a good player this Jan on the cheap whom we desperately needed since we are crying out for a RW.

Didn't he mess all his shots on goal. A fluky assist makes him the bestest player in the world? Worth nowhere near 200m, but could see Real pay it just because they can. Strange to see the wanking over a spurs player on a Utd forum.

With the quality of hold-up play and phyisical presence provided by him upfront, no wonder the asking price is 200m with this crazy market. Strikers are not only about goals and assists.

He did win the initial header against Jones which Alli ran onto and backheeled to Eriksen for their first goal. He also had some good moments of hold up play to bring in runners around him, i still feel he contributed to Spurs attack despite not generating an assist or getting on the score sheet himself.

Yes he did some good things but the consensus in here and with the Media that he had some kind of world class performance is surely skewered. Good performance yes, but wasn't the catalyst. We were our own catalyst.

Kane was able to push Smalling and Jones close to a panic attack and if you compare Kane and Lukaku it´s striking how bad Lukaku is, he can not hold onto the ball and is found out against better teams every time. Kane on the other hand seems to thrive in pressure situations and is very intelligent in his play. But going into the game playing with 4 attacking players and leaving Matic and Pogba in a 2 man midfield was never going to work but tactics aside what about the lack of effort? Spurs won every tackle and bullied us while many of the players were just not giving a effort. I know what I say next will not happen but I would love to see a Mr Roy Keane as part of the coaching setup and give those guy´s a proper hairdryer from the sidelines, United will not win every game and I can live with that but this lack of commitment and fight is just not acceptable because you can talk tactics all day long but if there is no effort it does not matter. If the other team is pressing you, playing hard you´ve got to step up and match them but every time teams press us like Spurs did we just give up.

was Kane particularly praised for last night? or are you talking about him being rated generally?

cant believe hes only on 100k a week

This summer is going to be big for Kane and Spurs because the vultures are surrounding him.

Kane meant that spurs could build attacks. That's what you need if your striker has an off night.

I hope we go for someone else. We absolutely need a new attacking system, new striker , new winger(s) but honestly I see no proper available striker in the market.
Wish Mbappe were in our team:(

He was fantastic last night. He held the ball up, brought others into play and scared the shit out of our defenders.

He really showed what we are lacking up front.

If spurs miss out on the top 4 then i think we should offer them 100 million plus lukaku. I know it might be unpopular, but kane would probably put us very close to city and he would be perfect . I know its unfair on Lukaku but i think Kane is just that damn good. He is the most complete striker bar none.

Settle down with a cold beer and a bit of popcorn. With Spurs finishing 5th this could get interesting. Sadly, we won't be in for him (no way we're discarding Lukaku after one season). City or Real will probably test his loyalty.

Vultures? More like pigeons puffing out their chests and pretending they can be vultures.

There are so few genuine world-class strikers around the moment, especially those who are not past their best, and especially those who have not yet reached their best. And the pick of the crop - Kane - is the one that no mega-bucks club can get this summer. So they'll all be scrapping it out for the scraps that are left.

Love it!

If City sell Aguero, I can totally see them coming with a 150-200 million bid. Guardiola is already targeting Hazard, obviously Kane won't have slipped his notice.

Not that I want that to happen, of course.

Does Kane have the pace Pep likes? I don't think he fits his "ideology".

Pep has money, and there is a dearth of world class strikers at the moment. Kane is English as well, ticks all boxes. That should be enough.

At some point, he will fall under City's radar that sweeps the transfer market like the Great Eye of Sauron. Please hold on to him.

Unless ourselves or Chelsea have a massive blip, he'll be facing another year without the CL next season. And this is at a time when his portfolio is sky high. At some stage, he should go to a truly top tier club because he genuinely does look able to make that leap.

I like the romantic notion of boyhood club and all, but he's a pro and careers can be short.

lol I sincerely think we will, for now anyway.

Umm there noting in it for a top four finish. We age the strongest squad now than at any other time of the season. I think we will make top 4.

It doesn't need a massive blip for Chelsea or United to miss out on top 4, or Liverpool for that matter.

Spurs only need to gain 5 more points than United or 3 more points than Liverpool or Chelsea out of the remaining 39 points on offer to get top 4.

Hardly a mammoth task.

and what do you mean by another year for Kane without CL football? Spurs have had CL two seasons running.

He played pretty well, winning the header for the first goal and holding the ball up well.

He also made a few chances for himself. Although he, admittedly duffed most of his shots nobody can say he’s not a great finisher. Presumably he’s getting a bit desperate to score his 100th and at 2-0 up he’s right to try anything.

Dirty bastard as well, which can be helpful.

Yup. Hadn't a good game against us by his standards but still bullied our CBs.

He would complete our attack in terms of his play style. I think people fail to look past his brilliant goal ratio, in fact, he's quite the baller also.

I'd happily see Lukaku +£100m to them. Wishful thinking though.

He's the best striker in the world at the moment with Lewandowski, Cavani and Suarez closely behind but there's no way he's worth 200 million.

Id take Kane over all 4 players you mentioned.

For me Kane is top 3 alongside Neymar and Mbabpe in the world.

If Lukaku missed the chances Kane missed against us we'd be shredding him to pieces. Lukaku gave a similar assist as Kane during the reverse fixture at OT and everyone seems to forget that. We'd not be that different even with Kane in our team.
