Harry Kane MBE | Performances

He was great today, usually not one to rate him as highly as the Suarez's etc but the ball stuck like glue to him and he drew fouls left right and centre. Great performance.

They weren't on here. There were a number of posters predicting a group stage exit.

So what you are saying is that there were a number of idiots on a forum which is to be expected. I'm talking about the general view point and the rational conclusion.

Most people had England as second because the group had Tunisia and fecking Panama. There will always be people predicting England to spectacularly fail but the odds at betting exchanges had England as 2nd favourites in the group. That's millions upon millions of pounds going into a prediction from millions of people that had England as second favourite.

When did England last reach the quarters? When did they last have a possible golden boot winner? When weren’t they last a media joke? Your sourness..... I can smell it, you still haven’t said if you are England fan?

 I said I couldn't care less if England win or lose.

How does England reaching quarters has anything to do with group stages with panama and Tunisia?

What does possible golden boot winner has anything to do with England's group?

Sourness for what? Kane? Your victim mentality is much higher than Liverpool fans'. Go and check my posts on Kane, I have said he is the best striker in the league without any doubt and numerous times.

You are just clueless guy and don't even know what you are talking about.

I agree. They were second favourites in that group. I think some posters in here were hoping we’d draw with Tunisia, have crap 2-0 win over Panama and then have to go into the last game to win against Belgium.

He was good today. Hold up play was excellent.

Shame Alli, Sterlng and Lingard were all bollocks around him.

Got to score them, and they've been big penalties as well. Especially this one against Colombia after the shithouse tricks they tried to pull. A lot of players might have faltered in those situations.
This penalty was big. The two against Panama were meaningless as you would have scored a minute later anyway. Good hold up play today and productive outside the box - the first game this WC I can say that.

One more goal for Kane and he goes past Lineker for the most goals scored for England in a single World Cup campaign and for the most goals ever scored by a single England player during all WCs combined.
Hope he not only breaks that record, but smashes it. I love him.

He really needs to bugger off from Spurs, he simply cannot waste his career more than he’s already done up north in London. The world is much bigger mate, go get yourself some trophies.

Cracking player. He's got such calmness and maturity. He's as good of a striker as Shearer and I'll be surprised if he doesn't come close to his premier league record.

However its a shame that he'll win next to nothing, just like Shearer, because he'll spend his best years at a second tier club.

And yet no one backs you up... sad case. You slabber a lot but say little. I bet you astride your keyboard stallion. Keep typing mate.

Tunisia are absolutely woeful and Panama are basically a non-league level of team. Panama is basically there because Fifa fancied more games at the world cup and so filled it with cannon fodder.

Yeah, what the feck is Pogba and Martial doing at United, need to move on and realise their talent, Jose holding them back. City would be a bigger stage for them.

 Have seen some weird posters, none comes closer.

Replies to your post
Both Ronaldo and Messi do that.... where are they again? This is an England team who most thought wouldn’t get out of the group.
Those who thought so need their heads checked. Hardly an argument.
No one said that, it's you who is embarassing yourself now, even lesser teams can get out of group with Panama and Tunis.
No, but Panama and Tunis probably never get through their group.
What the feck
With Panama and Tunisia?
Tell me Rodney, what drugs are you on this week?
@InLevyITrust has gone off the rails. Everyone and their mother was predicting England to come second in the group because it was a piss easy group.

Yeah none backs me up.

Make a shit post and keep digging.

I think you and your pal Glaston are being too sensitive. Everybody in this thread knows Kane is absolutely fantastic and the best striker in the league. Can you, please, forgive us stating the fact that he's also been extremely lucky this WC? Does it mean he's poor? Stop being so soft. You seem so moved that you went to great lengths to embarass yourself and say that 'most people thought this Engand wouldn't have made it past the group stage' as to pinpoint how much do they owe to Kane.

Messages like yours make other doubt certain players.

This guy is the goods 100%

3 subpar games and he has 6 world cup goals FFSSSSS if that isn’t greatness, I don’t know what is

He was OK today. Got fouled plenty of times, so theres the intelligence factor in inviting tackles from a stupid Colombian team. His penalty was incredible. When you look around at other captains, Messi, Hazard, Ronaldo etc. they don't strike you (me?) as captain material - this guy does. Brilliant from Kane.

Do you think if Madrid sell Ronaldo to Juve like some reports claim that then Madrid offer say 250 million would levy turn that down ?

You would think this guy is like 28-30.

He captains a kinda not to strong England like a champ.

And whats with hes physical power? Seems he wins arials, bodys and can control the ball no matter how strong or huge the opponment is. I know hes both strong and big, but when he plays like this they just have to foul him.

Great striker but going to be a hilarious Golden Boot. 3 penalties, 2 headers from 2-4 yards out(?) and a deflection so far.

There have been lots of penalties at this world cup. He's got nerve and skill and generally his penalty record has got better year on year (so I'm told).

His movement is great. We haven't created much and he's been there when it mattered. The 3 Panama goals were freebies against a poor side but that's generally how the golden boot is won. It's easier to score goals against poor teams. It's been won before by a player that didn't get out of the group stages.

immense player, cannot praise him highly enough.
Look he's never going to be the best to watch but his record speaks for itself. He can actually take it up another gear in my opinion.

The first player to score in 6 successive games for England since Tommy Lawton in 1939.

Kane will absolutely not leave, the new contract basically ensured him staying for 3-4 years. If he leaves it'll be when his contract is up for renewal.

Probably said before but the thing I absolutely love about Kane is that he virtually seems to be unaffected by just about anything. Ice cold. Shows real leadership to not only keep calm in games like today but to also set the example by continuing to push forward and just drawing fouls etc. Let them get wound up.

Nice job indeed Harry - wish you were ours. But I love Romelu as well. Sorry.

Certainly: when Kane was easily and slowly drawing fouls from us around the end of the second half, argentinian commentator actually said that it looked like Kane was calmly waiting for his tea.

Agree on the first point but Lineker has 10 goals in total (6 in 86 and 4 more in 90), so Kane needs a few more to get to that. Madness though that he is already England’s 2nd highest scorer in World Cup finals matches - he’s only played 3 games!

I Haven't had the time to watch a lot of football over the last 2/3 years, and whenever i saw him play he never stood out, whilst consistently getting a stream of goals, so he was obviously a good player, but i didnt see the "special" quality in the snapshots i saw.

Having seen him on the biggest stage there is, there's no doubt of his pedigree, just his stone cold calmness and practicality.

I was guilty of this when he first came on the scene banging in goals, I just couldnt see what the stand out part of his game was, he wasnt a tower of strength like a Drogba, he didnt have the trickery of a Suarez and he didnt have the balance and pace of the Henry type of strikers. But I guess I was suffering a little from 'cant see the forest for the trees'. He does everything well without being a world beater in any one aspect of his game except his finishing which is clinical. A strikers job is to put the ball in the back of the net, Kane certainly does that.

I agree he has been a little static but Im thinking it might be how the team sets up, Kane draws the defenders in the middle giving space for Sterling/Rashford/Lingard to get into one on ones or overlap with wing backs. And tbf to Kane he probably should of had a penalty or two in the Tunisia wrestling match where he was thrown to the ground. And an assist from his header back across goal to Sterling who somehow conjured up a miss from 3ft out right in front.

He really needs to bugger off from Spurs, he simply cannot waste his career more than he’s already done up north in London. The world is much bigger mate, go get yourself some trophies.

About to turn 25, he has some time to decide what he is doing, play until he is 26-27 at Spurs then move at the peak years of his career. If he keeps going at the level he's at there wont be a club in world football not interested in signing him. Arguments can be made now that he is good enough to lead the line for the biggest clubs in world football, his purple patch of form was out of this world season just gone. Out of the next generation of strikers coming through he certainly has to be no.1 at this point until Mbappe lives up to his potential, even then it wont be easy reeling in Kane if he continues apace.
