Harry Kane | Bayern Munich player

I think he’s coming to united or staying at spurs. Just need us to waste a few months pursuing Osimhen before we go for Kane in mid-august.

Don't you fear Osimhen going elsewhere too who has yet to reach his prime. I will admit to being intrigued by Kane and no doubt his passing and playmaking is a different level to other forwards.

I certainly do - but I dont think anyone can afford to sign him this summer. Napoli has no need to sell, and they will probably insist on £120-130 million - minimum. We can't afford to spend that kind of money on one player, especially when we also need 2-3 other players to strengthen our squad.

I'd say it's a certainty it's one of those options.
Or maybe gets sold to someone else

Perhaps. We will see. Don’t rule out Madrid IF he were to leave

Not a chance in hell he goes abroad when the one thing his career will be remembered for is goals records.
No way does he lose a couple of years elsewhere.

I think he'd choose trophies over PL goalscorer record. He's not even guaranteed to beat it but if he moves to Real Madrid or Barca or Bayern he's almost guaranteed a trophy.

It's completely possible he's form will fall off a cliff in 2 or 3 years

By that age lots of strikers are past it. The likes of Benzema, Lewandowski etc are anomalies

Kane isn't overly reliant on his speed. He'll be effective till his mid 30s.

That's still guesswork. It might be an educated guess but I think anyone laying down Levy money and wages would be aware that each year from now on contains more risk around injury and form dropping off. It doesn't have to be that he becomes League 1, it can just be a slight reduction in sharpness and performance each year of his contract. It's almost inevitable that this will happen in fact.

Is it compensated for by the fact he's a near certain hit? Probably, maybe.. depending on exactly how it plays out.

Lots of talk about this Osimhen but for now he's unproven outside of Italy and we have seen some fairly ordinary strikers destroy that league in the last few years. Lukaku for one and then came back to the PL and couldn't trap a football to save his life.

Kane is proven. He's a world class player and we know he scores tons of goals in this league. He'd be my number 1 choice as long as the money works.

Lukaku did score 100s of goals in this league in fairness. While we like to destroy him, let's not make out he was Heskey's crapper brother.

The penalty debate between him and Bruno will bring back memories of last season!

He wasn't destroying it for United or Chelsea like he did at Inter. I think that's the point.

This Osimhen could well be the real deal but I don't particularly rate Serie A all that highly tbh.

He actually did have a good first season here is what seems to easily be forgotten.

He has a good start but the second half of his first season was fairly poor. 7 in his first 7 league matches and then 9 in 27.

I know his no 10 play is very good also but it's definitely possible he'll lose form at 32/33.

RVP or Rooney weren't reliant on speed and fell off a cliff at that age
Rooney was playing high level football since he was 16, he was bound to have an early end and RVP was injury prone throughout his playing career.

If Levy managed to get a ‘marquee’ managerial appointment (Naglesmann or Poch say) then I can very much see him being hoodwinked into extending! He’s not the sharpest tool in the box after all!

Yeah think you are spot on,Levy will have him believing this is the right appointment finally

Chelsea will find a way to afford it which is my worst nightmare,in a dream world we could pick up Osimhen now and Kane runs down his deal to get him on a free next summer.

Not surprised at all, always thought it was a pipe dream getting Levy to agree on selling him to us even for a crazy sum.

They'll also try their hardest to attract a quality manager to replace Conte as well and I highly doubt they plan on pitching anyone on a Harry Kane-less squad.

Our only chance would be on a free in a years time in my opinion and we won't wait that long for a striker

I think they'll sell cos they'll need the money to replace him. Their squad needs investment also.

I'm ambivalent about signing him really. I think I'd prefer to buy two young players with potential and rotate them.

If they do I'd expect them to sell to someone like Bayern over a league rival even though they'd get much more money from the latter.

Spurs are never going to be able to sell the idea of giving Kane the success that he deserves!

They are miles off being a Premier League/Champions League winning team. They need a complete overhaul under yet another new manger.

I've said before that all Kane needs to do is tell Levy he won't sign a new contract under any circumstances and he won't move aboard either.

That gives Levy the choice of either cashing in now or seeing him join a rival for free in 12 months. If the only choice Levy has is join a rival for free vs join a rival for a decent fee then its a no brainer.

A season of Harry Kane at Spurs is worth more than 100 million to them. In Spurs Kane is a guarantee of 20+ goal as well as a focal point for their attack. Most of their good results come through him. Without him there's less goals, less for the new manager to work with, less appeal to join the team and likely a lower league finish.

With 100 million there is no one gettable who can realistically provide all of those things, be it one player or a few players. It's just not that much money these days when you look at what PL teams get for their money.

One more year of Kane, hopefully some decent performances, hope that the new manager settles in well and time to reassess and make some good acquisitions for if/when he does leave the next year is worth more than the transfer fee they would get in my opinion. Then there's always the chance that over the course of this final year that he might decide to stay.

Levy will try to start a bidding war.

I don't see the big deal in beating Shearers record so I don't see why Kane can't move abroad.
He might only have 3 good years left at the top to win a major trophy.

Who are the big teams requiring a striker?
Us, Chelsea, Bayern, maybe Real Madrid, maybe Barca.

Bayern won't spend big so if there's a bidding war they won't win.

I reckon if he wants shearer’s record he’ll want to stay in prem and they risk losing him on a free to a rival next summer.

He’d turn down Bayern to wait a year to join United, Chelsea or maybe even Arsenal if they win the league this year and are strong again next year IMO.

Why get so close to the all time leading goal scorer then leave when you can wait it out and have your pick of clubs in 2024.

If he wants out this summer and wants to stay in the Prem then Levy may have to listen to offers and maybe not ones he entirely likes.

There is no way Kane will join us next year on a free if we sign Osimhen this summer. He will want to be guaranteed first choice wherever he goes. We just have to hope he stays at Spurs, goes abroad, or goes to another club that doesn't win anything (assuming we sign Osimhen, which is a big assumption).

I bet he'd move to Madrid or Barca.

Benzema and Lewandowski will be 35 at start of season.

Reading the speculation is this thread much reminds me that he could end up at pretty much any top club or even stay at Spurs.

I’m most persuaded by the idea that he will leave Spurs (if he can) but will stay in the Prem. I think he’d want the goals record AND a better shot at trophies than he has with Spurs.

It's all down to Kane - if he tells Spurs he wants to leave Spurs but stay in England he could be ours.......there is no way Levy will say no to £100 million in August, only to see Kane negotiate with Bayern, Real, Barca 4 months later

Perhaps. But the thing is that any clubs priced out of a deal this summer could still make him aware what he’d likely pick up if he were to hold out a season and join them and potentially screw any deals from happening this summer.

I’d take Benzema if Kane goes to Madrid

Provided we still got a backup too

Won't even take £100 million. £60 million on deadline day will be enough.

The thing with Kane is that it's not all about goals. That's why people bringing up his poor goalscoring record in whatever doesn't worry me. His general play is always fantastic whether he scores or not, and, when you've got other goalscorers in your team like Rashford, Bruno, whoever else, it's less of a worry. For me, anyway!

Have said it many times IF Osimhen wasn't around then would be all in for Kane

Yeah even with new owners it feels like we will be considering that factor as well
