Harry Kane | Bayern Munich player

Levy doesn't have an obligation to accept the same bid from Utd. He'd just turn it down and we'd look stupid.

I actually don’t want him to leave the Prem - be a shame seeing someone so close to Shearer’s record and leave now.

He would have known he was expecting a child when Bayern talked to him before bidding for him. There is no way Bayern have been this aggressive without a clear message from Kane that he wants to go there.

Imagine him excitedly going home to tell his wife, until to look down at her pregnancy bump in shock as the reality dawns on him.
Agree. And it’s not like they don’t have the resources to move and take care of their newborn and their family. Munich is actually a pretty cool place to live when you have money.
He should definitely go. Try to win the Bundesliga and fight for the Champions League. I’d actually love to see him at United but there’s no way Levy would let him join us even if we somehow match the bid.

Maybe we should just submit a bid so that the media can't say "they didn't even try for Kane" anytime Hojlund doesn't score a Hat-Trick.

Although they will still just say we didn't try enough or whatever.

If a Prem club comes in with a bid Kane would move. He's chasing the Shearer record without a doubt.

Not when Kane says he isn’t going to Bayern. At that point, Levy is utterly stuck. If Kane chooses Bayern over us then so be it but I’m confident that he won’t if the wages are in the same ballpark.

Its worth a fax, nothing to lose.

They leak we bid for him. Publicly we look desperate and that we don't want to go through a season with only Hojlund (which is true but you don't want to advertise how desperate you are).

Remember that £94.5m figure if this goes through, because that is going to be used against United if we’re struggling at any point and pundits are going to say why we didn’t spend a bit more.

We all know Levy would have set us a price of £140m to sign him

The plan all along was two strikers with Hojlund being the understudy.

The deal also appears to have a large amount of the money up front, which I don't think we could afford to do?

We must lodge a bid.

Non-negotiable, even if we don't sign him and we are blanked, as a club, we have to make a public and formal bid.

We have too.

Why? To look stupid?

For once we are doing the right things in the transfer market and few want to go back to old ways.

Yes we could if needed. We have a massive revolving credit facility and let's face it the Glazers aren't leaving so there isn't much stopping us from using it.

Look stupid?! The best striker in the league is available and we don't even attempt it. No one will think it's stupid bidding for him, even if it is rejected.

Is it a football manager thing or a Fifa thing or something?

Why do people seem to think if we lodge a similar bid Levy has to accept it?

We all know if he's demanding 100m from Bayern he'll want about 120m from us

When Levy has an easy way out to sell the player to outside league why will he accept similar bid from us?

People running the clubs are not stupid, as much as fans want to believe that .

We have to make much more larger bid with much more favorable terms for Levy to accept the bid.

I think he is way too expensive for his age and only 1 year of contract left, but i think he would be absolut excellent in our team.
And judging by his game and physique i can well imagine Kane to play on the highest level until ~35, just like Lewandowski or Benzema.

Last year we were a much better team with Choupo Moting than with any of the "false 9" experiments we tried (Mané, Müller, Gnabry).
We desperately need a new "poacher" in the box and additionally Gnabry and Sané would love Kanes passes.
I think he’ll be a goal machine for you. Without sounding condescending, especially in the Bundesliga which is a bit more open.

A 30 year old Kane is a 25 year old player who relys on pace.

I can just imagine the playmaking and passes Kane will provide the likes of Gnabry, Coman and Sane.

No way. 100m+ euros is just crazy when we could use that money elsewhere.

Im delighted we’ve gone for a young, highly exciting prospect in Hojlund.

So Harry Kane’s (and Gary Neville’s) masterplan is to rely on Levy behaving with a degree of honour and in a way that favours the player’s interests over those of his club? It’s a bold strategy, let’s see…..etc

Or that we at least tried our best getting the best center forward avaliable without delaying our business the way we did last year with frenkie, it's not all that negative and I don't think anyone truly believes we bought Rasmus to be a starter from get go.

How on earth would us putting in a bid we know will be rejected and we can't even afford anyway be a message to show we're a serious club

It would be the total opposite.
