Harry Kane | Bayern Munich player

He has in the past refused to sell his best players to English clubs, both Modric and Bale had to wait until Madrid came for them as he would not sell Modric to Chelsea or Bale to us. I appreciate that you think the price would be the same for us and Bayern but I don't think it's remotely true, I think that is precisely the reason we went for Hojlund instead of trying to deal with Tottenham. It wouldn't even make sense for them to accept the same bid from both clubs as they'd obviously prefer to have him go abroad.
It's as much speculation as anything else to parrot that old sentiment. Clubs that can match salary demands, absorb the fee AND need him at this moment are currently limited to us and Bayern. With us he wont have to unroot his family, he can chase his record, stay in his home country and so on so it's not all that unlogical. Next year who knows how the lay of the land is with Madrid, City and the likes in the race. In my opinion it all comes down to 1. if Spurs are firm believers they can influence him to sign or not and also 2. how much he wants to leave this year. Kane has nothing to lose by sitting out the contract, delay any decisions and thats a bigger hurdle than Levy.

I think it is to do with this “experienced” striker Ten Hag wanted alongside the new kid. Kane seems to be the most promising and obtainable of targets.

I still believe we will buy another striker, Kane or not.

OK so if it wasn't Kane then who could you see us buying. Also did you mean signing one still in this window or the January one

The ideal scenario is picking him up under new ownership in January but that's never happening

I honestly don't know, a lot of you guys are better at scouting on here rather than I. It was reported way back Ten Hag wanted an experienced striker and a up and comer and I think he will still look to get someone. It might end up as a loan or something on the last day, just hope he's better than our last loanee...

Yeah we have burnt by recent striker loans

I do love all the posts on Kanes transfer.

"Just give Levy £100m"

He won't sell to us.

"Wait until Bayern have agreed a fee and just pay Levy that much"

He won't sell to us.

"Insert argument for buying Kane this summer"

He won't sell to us.

The guy to watch in these scenarios is Joe Lewis. He is known to be getting twitchy about losing Kane for nothing and if Joe tells Levy to jump, he has to jump.

If we hadn't just signed Hojlund then maybe, but given we're not exactly able to spend huge amounts, there's zero chance of this IMO.
The “we cannot spend” is just gossip, media BS. Last year supposedly we were only able to spend 100 million and spent way more than that. This year we supposedly only could spend 100 million (again), and we have already spent 170-180. We are Manchester United! Not a pub team.

I think we could do it, it's more the fact we won't pay £120m~ for an ageing player with a year left on his contract.

It's simply not happening.

If it were me, I'd look at my options and think, how many players have a Bundesliga title? Hundreds.
How many Premier League all time top goal scorers are there? One.

We don't know Harry Kane personally, of course, so we all just speculate how important it is for him to either win a medal or be the Premier league all time top goalscorer.
Personally, I just don't see him walking away from the Premier League after 9 seasons and being so close to breaking Shearer's record.

So I have always felt that Kane would stay at Spurs this season, adding another 20+ goals to his tally.
Then he is a Free man, and can choose wherever he wants to go, maybe United or even Newcastle...and break the record there.
How ironic would it be if he joined Newcastle and broke Shearer's record whilst wearing their shirt.
Wouldn't even surprise me much if he signed a new deal with Spurs, he seems the type of guy that would.

I wish the media would stop peddling this one. Football existed before the Premier League, and Kane is nowhere near the all time record. Even Shearer is only 5th. It's a nonsense record that's being hyped up for no reason. He'd be a fool if he sticks around for that, he's 150 goals off the real one.

Which is doable at a top club - Lewa has scored over 150 league goals since turning 30. It’s two 30+ seasons and four 20+ with a few extra. That’s entirely achievable for a striker as good as Kane with the right team around him and a bit of luck with injury. He’s got no hope if he goes abroad for 2 years.

If he scores this Man Utd in a team like ours, very very high chance he’ll win a buckload of trophies as well. Not that it’s a remote possibility this summer anyway.

Lewa was playing for Bayern in the Bundesliga. Kane has hit exactly 30 only twice in his career, and 3 of the last 5 seasons have been under 20. I'd say with certainty he's not going to get Jimmy Greaves's record.

It sounds like you've got no idea how transfer fees actually work despite multiple people in here explaining how it works.

And Haaland immediately scored over 30 in his first season. Not playing for Spurs would help in most leagues.

Haaland is a freak of nature and Kane won't be playing for City. But it's not impossible: he would, realistically, need six more seasons at his current level of productivity to catch Greaves. It's unlikely but not totally out of the question.

Really hope Kane kyboshes this. We need to make it very publicly clear now that we want him and give him the chance to put the pressure on Levy. We cannot let him go to Bayern just because he wants to get out of Spurs.

Fair play to Bayern, but I think Kane will stay, due to his wife about to have another child.

I hope he doesn’t sign a new contract though and leaves on a free.

Is this his real account? I no longer can tell on this shite app

The story is on The Athletic so I assume so.

Apparently Kane is expecting another child immiently. Wouldn't be the best time to move. I've been optimistic that he gives the Premier League one more season, then join us on a free.

Would be sad to see him go to Bayern... But sure, let's buy him from Bayern next year for £80m. That way he will have won a trophy, and still be able to beat the all time PL record.

It would be something if Kane left on the eve of the season starting. I'd honestly still be quite surprised if he did it, he's not behaving like a player who is agitating to move right now.

The shit Bayern are going to talk about Kane if he says no after all the pain they’ve gone through for weeks dealing with Levy will be legendary.

And I have a feeling he WILL get cold feet and stay at Spurs for one final year.

He would have known he was expecting a child when Bayern talked to him before bidding for him. There is no way Bayern have been this aggressive without a clear message from Kane that he wants to go there.

Imagine him excitedly going home to tell his wife, until to look down at her pregnancy bump in shock as the reality dawns on him.

It’s funny seeing some posts here as if Kane just found out he’s about to have a baby. The guys known for 9 months and still been open to a Bayern move.

l thought Neville said on The Overlap only this week that “i will be shocked if Kane goes to Bayern”
