Harry Kane | Bayern Munich player

Lots of pros and cons regarding this. Strikers (especially in PL) decline earlier than other players. I don't mind signing 30y old midfielder or defender. They can play at high level until 34-35 easily. But striker....it is a risk.
I mean; if price is around 40-50 mil then ok. Lets risk it. But 80-100 mil to get two or maybe 3 seasons max from him, is just not a smart deal.

For me he is the perfect striker for us at age and time primarily because there is currently such a low quality and quantity of strikers.

We can sign him and go for trophies for the next 3 years whilst analyzing who is going to replace him as they develop.

If he is available for a reasonable price (30m-40m) then why not.

With the view that guys like McNeill and Hughill will be ready in a few years.

Still the best number 9 in the league, he’s worth 50-60 m even at 30, get the feeling he still has 3 top class seasons in him.

I rate Kane too but Haaland is better. But as someone said earlier; for media that would be story for whole season;
City vs United, Pep vs Hag, Kane vs Haaland.

I think if Kane leaves Spurs in the summer, we might just be the front runners. I personally think he'd want to stay in England purely to break the premier league all time scoring record as well as knowing he has this league sussed out, that rules Bayern/Barca/etc out.
Looking at the big 6:
Man City are sorted in that area.
I personally dont think he will move to a London rival out of respect to Tottenham fans.
Liverpool just splashed a huge fee in Nunez and need strengthening elsewhere.
So its down to us and Newcastle where we are probably the more attractive project considering our history and how EtH has turned us around...

Bayern need no9. Guaranteed trophies. "Easier" league to score.
I think he will end there

There is absolutely no chance Spurs sell him to a league rival for anything less that 100m. They're better off letting him leave on a free than selling him to us for 60-70m.

I wouldnt think they'd have a price that high

Is it me only or has Harry Kane has transitioned to more of a providing type of forward. Yes, he scores a lot of goals, but he's no longer your typical target man. He often drops deep to support the midfield with transition and often feeds the wider forwards. Or is that because he plays for Spurs, who have been under the management of Conte, who's more fond of the counter-attacking 3-4-3, rather than possession based dominant style of play, where he would've had to gravitate to the box and just be fed crosses to be on the end of those.
I think Rashford does a very similar job to Harry for our team and a poacher type of a forward would be more suited to ETH's system.

Now I know Kane is Kane and you typically don't turn down the chance to have a 'free' run on him for a transfer.

I do. There's no doubt he's the best option when it comes to ability and pedigree, but I don't see us adding another player for a gigantic fee, huge wages and a long term deal.

It would have to be close to that - 60m-70m doesn't really do much for your squad if you sell your best player and improve a rival. They're better off having him for another season.

Who would be your second choice?

It's tough to say right now, I would like to see how Ten Hag uses Weghorst first, I think we'll get a better idea of what he will expect from a striker. I think we will need a physical presence, they'll need to be athletic enough to press and have a decent enough scoring record (I don't think we need a Haaland or Kane type return, as nice as it obviously will be).

Would you take Osimhen/Vlahovic,jeez it still stings Jose wouldn't take Haaland from Molde

We get him and i predict we’ll really win the league next season, v.Persie style. Get him while Varane and Casemiro are still in their prime years, Licha has a full season under his belt and Rashford continues his form and approaching his peak years. That’s a full spine of the team + Harry Kane

I don't think "take" is the right way we should be thinking about it though. They're all good players, but for the price we'd have to pay to get them in do they:

a) Fit in the team in the style we're trying to pay
b) Represent a good investment for the long term of the club

I don't know currently, because we haven't really seen what Ten Hag wants from his forwards yet.

I don't think Jose stopped us signing Haaland.

If he’s available for 60-70m would you take him? Because not a chance in hell he’s going for 30-40m.

He did in as much as he wasn't someone known for buying young talents. Was more about bringing in established players

Vlahovic would be second choice. We shouldn’t be going anywhere near Osimhen. Everything is wrong with that signing from his price to his injury record.

Osimhen is the more complete player... And Vlahovic has been quite inconsistent over the last 12 months with Juventus (Nowhere near his freakish level with Fiorentina). He wouldn't be the first forward to only find success only at smaller clubs.

I don't believe we will be in the battle for Kane. He is too expensive for his age (N'Castle, City, or Chelsea for him). Our board doesn't like to spend big money they can't recoup. They only put that kind of money on younger players with high resale value. Players you know you can sell if it doesn't work out.

Osimhen has his strengths but is actually a technically limited player. I think he would be far more exposed in the premier league. On top of that he is a sick note. The last 2 seasons he missed 35-40% of the games in all comps for Napoli and was injured this season too. And to make the matters worse, de laurentiis is gonna rinse us. You are looking upwards of 100m for a player who is nowhere elite and is injured all the time.

Regarding Kane, why would city be in for him? Chelsea are a shambles and not gonna finish in top4 as things stand and even if they do, they have very low probability of signing him because of spurs. Newcastle doesn’t make any sense if we are in for him. 70-80m I reckon would be tempting price for him. Also, we signed Casemiro for 70m so no, it’s not true we spend big only on young players.

He's a brilliant player in his day but considering the injuries he's had, his age and how much it'll cost to get him, I don't think this is a transfer worth pursuing.

Brilliant player, would pay 100m just for one season of him. If he's willing to dump his entire history with Spurs, it could be like the Sol Campbell transfer of the early noughties. Or the RVP - Utd, of the 2010s. No chance Spurs sell him to us though, if they can help it. It'll take much more than a phone call between managers to work that out.

You think he would be scoring 27 goals by January?

I am not saying it is impossible but lets not make assumptions when literally no player has ever done that before in this league.
I'd say he be thereabouts, after all he's trailing haland by only 6 goals this season playing for a very tumescent spurs side.

IF we get new owners by summer (no matter who that owner will be), we will pay whatever the price will be. He will be that trademark signing which every new rich owner try to do.
But if Glazers stay, no bloody way that we will pay 70-80 mil (which Spurs will demand for him for sure).

Nevertheless, Bayern spoke kindly about him this summer so i am pretty certain that he will go there.

Best striker in the league being fed by the best team in the league. I reckon it would be close.
