Now we have Hojlund and hope Kane negotiation with Bayern break down. We can sign Kane next season. Perfect. (I know, I'm dreaming)
Except they’re not. No team in world football can be called a large step up from United .. currently . Not even City. Remember last season everyone thought it’d take years to catch up to liverpool … it can be done.I know this is a United forum so there will be heavy biases , but Bayern at this moment in time are a fairly large step up from Man Utd.
You haven't been relevant in the major trophies (League + CL) for almost over a decade. Bayern basically always are. If the argument is Kane needs trophies then it's very easily Bayern >>> Man Utd.

In this moment, they definitely aren't.
Their team last season was the worst it's been in decades. It took a Dortmund bottle-job for them to win the Bundesliga.
They've not been relevant in the CL since 2020.
Bayern is the easier move to make.
And accept being kicked out of European football?Ferguson would have signed him 3yrs ago even if it means violating FFP, tapping up or kidnapping him
Tha is your biased United fan view. But Bayern is a much more successful club with a much higher chance to win thingsExcept they’re not. I mean Ferguson would have pulled all stops to sign him and in the last 6yrs you've signed Pogba Lukaku Antony Sancho Maguire for amounts that could have bagged KaneAnd accept being kicked out of European football?
Not for United. Levy would have refused to sell or only for an amount that we cannot payI mean Ferguson would have pulled all stops to sign him and in the last 6yrs you've signed Pogba Lukaku Antony Sancho Maguire for amounts that could have bagged Kane
For FFP violations I don't think so I believe fans have some serious misconception abouts FFP punishments .And accept being kicked out of European football?
Journalist in the this case is being bit simplistic but This Scotty Tridge is also being naive here or selective to make his point . You have to pretty gullible to think a player who is allegedly being bought for minimum 64 m in tranfer fre would only be on 75 k a week wages.Just pay 28m extra is something you'd expect to hear on the caf not from a seasoned footballing journalist.
I was talking about Jamie Jackson who said it was only 28m extraJournalist in the this case is being bit simplistic but This Scotty Tridge is also being naive here or selective to make his point . That's your game, not ours. We do not even speak publicly about players of other clubs. And yes, if Kane wants to go to a small time one-team league that's his choice. If Kane is going to "betray" Spurs, he better do it to a club that's guaranteed to win trophies. There are few clubs like that in Europe City Barcelona Madrid Bayern PSG
City and Barcelona have their striker sorted out, Madrid seems to be all in for Mbappe. Leaving Bayern and PSG. Bayern is obviously more stable.
If Kane wants to really make the move within England only City would have guaranteed him what he wanted. A league or CL in the next 4 seasons. Chelsea Arsenal Man Utd Liverpool none is guaranteed a league or a CL in that time. Some are going through a massive rebuild and top 4 not even guaranteed. Of the next 4 EPL titles, I believe City will win at least 2, probably win 3. The last could go to any of the other 4 clubs
Imagine betraying Spurs to end at a club that is not going to win or just win the Carling cup in the next 4 seasons
Bayern gets to sign one of the real top strikers left on the game. On current output top 3 strikers in the world. All round game(scoring and linkup), top 2 or even the best, The English captain at a time the English team is one of the best in Europe. Kane is one of the most marketable players in Europe. Top production on the field, stable family man, no drama off the field. Just the type of player Bayern would love
Ferguson would have signed him 3yrs ago even if it means violating FFP, tapping up or kidnapping him
Oh I agree on Jamie Jackson it's better to pay no heed to him .I was talking about Jamie Jackson who said it was only 28m extra
First of all: i don’t believe the numbers for the wages. And I also think it won’t be GBP100m for Kane.Lets do the math here.
Kane: £100m fee + £575k weekly salary
4 years deal investment would be 100m(fee) + 119m(wage) = 219m
If we compare it to Hojlund:
Hojlund: £68m fee + 75k weekly salary
Comparatively 4 years deal investment would 68m(fee) + 16m(wage) = 84m
So Kane 219m vs Hojlund 84m. Who would you prefer?
Don’t sign Mount and Hojlund and sign Kane instead….Sell Henderson, Bailly and Fred and sign Amrabat.
Sell McTominay, Sancho and Martial and sign Kane.
If only it was that simple.

I loved Levy's face in that Tottenham documentary when Jose tells him Ferguson told him to sign Dele Ali when he was manager at United.
You can see the awkward moment where Levy tries to hide his rage at even the thought of selling United a player.
Said pages back he would rather lose Kane on a free than sell to a Premier League side. Blindsided by his own stubbornness.
Can't blame him really can you? He's about to turn 30 and has won feck at all at Spurs.Kane really wants to go the farmers league in Germany eh?

This is a bit disingenuous considering Hojlund could do well and sign a contract extension on better wages. Won’t be £575k a week mind you, but still a lil bit disingenuous. He won’t be on 75k a week for his whole contractLets do the math here.

All hypothetical but if Levy and Bayern agree a fee of say £100m for Kane then we come in and say we will match that bid and Kane says I prefer to join United are we saying that Levy would refuse and quote a higher figure for us and possibly lose Kane for nothing next summer? Considering the fact that he has been told to sell Kane or get him to sign a new contract which I don't think he will.
Yeah I am glad you are saying it's hypothetical because we just aren't in any position to match their bid much as I want him
We were absolutely in a position to match or better their bid, but not anymore, no.
It’s done now, we got Højlund (who you were asking for, Croady), and Bayern or someone else in the PL will get Kane.
Best thing to do now is support the lad that’s been brought in and try and forget about Kane as now it truly is completely off the table.
Kane for me is in the Shearer category of really should’ve come to Utd, but alas, not to be.
I wouldn’t completely rule us out of going for Kane yet (albeit unlikely we’d succeed)
- Still need another body up front in terms of numbers
- Hojlund is very young and inexperienced to be our main striker all season
- However we no longer appear desperate which is good
- Sell more of our deadwood to free up funds
- Let Bayern “set the price”
- Once this is set and Spurs are resigned to losing him, go in, matching the price, and gazump Bayern in terms of wages
