Harry Kane | Bayern Munich player

I just can't wrap my head around him wanting to leave the Prem. I know another year at Spurs sounds painful for him - but he has Shearer's record in his sights.

Suppose he sees a gimme-league title at Germany more appealing than it.

He has a good chance of winning UCL at Bayern (probably the second favorite in the competition) and would win a few leagues titles. Considering that he hasn't won anything in his career, that is his best chance to compensate for it.

Winning the EPL with United or Chelsea is gonna be very very hard as long as the bald guy is in City. So form his point of view, a move to United/Chelsea might look just a sideways move.

If I had the chance to play for any clubs in Europe I'd choose United, Bayern or Ajax. In that order. Bayern clearly has the path of least resistance to perform well in every competition so if you're coming up on the later years of your career and haven't won anything yet then Bayern undoubtedly makes sense (imho).

The champions league also exists.

Tuchel has recently won the CL with Chelsea, got to a semi final and final with PSG.

Bayern should increase the offer as Kane would be a good Lewa replacement, Spurs know what they have and how limited and unavailable other strikers are and how much average players go for. These bids of 70m euro and small increases are not going to cut it even with a year left on the contract. 80m euro is just 68 million quid, it's going to have to be ~ £100m to get considered.

Time runs away from him - especially if he wants to win the Champions League.

To play in the country in which the next European Cup is is not bad either. And to play for a team that for sure is in the CL every year and should already be qualified for the first FIFA Club Tournament in the USA in 2025.

There is players in his team that already have won the Champions League with Bayern and for sure have a good experience with the club - Perisic and especially Höjbjerg.

I think a lot of it will be based on the discussions they are supposedly having this week. If he makes it 100% clear he isn't signing an extension then you'd have to start considering the offers in the context of "that or nothing in 12 months".

It's extremely unlikely they get a Champions League place next season even with him. If they could sign say that Kolo Muani lad from Germany and have money left over from the Kane transfer then you might have your striker for the next few years if he develops and it cost you nothing considering you were losing Kane anyway.

Believe me when I say that Levy would rather lose Kane to Bayern on a free than sell him to us for any amount of money. If Levy wants to survive the Tottenham fan vitriol the only thing he can do is allow him to leave abroad.

If he is going to leave, Bayern will offer a contract in January and then negotiate and early release with Tottenham. That way they get some money, Kane leaves a villian, and Levy can say he did everything to keep him.
That’s just insane though from a club perspective, they get good deals on new players for the most part, they could revamp the team with that money. They sold walker to city but won’t sell to us? Quite weird.

Again, Alan Shearer's record is a fake record. He's right not to give a shit about it. And even if he stayed and beat it someone would beat that in the next 10-20 years.

He should, at this stage of this career be trying to win trophies.

The most important thing here is how hilarious it would be seeing him try to speak German in press conferences.

The smart move would be to sell Kane now but I think Levy will over-index the desperate hope of him signing a new contract.

It is hard to understate how lucky Spurs have been to acquire the two best best British players to emerge in the last 15 years for a grand total of £10m and keep one in the side all this time. Except for one transition year, they've had a nearly cost-free (except wages) British superstar in their side every season since 2010-11 when Bale first really broke out and that has been essential to both success on the pitch and the ability to drive commercial revenue.

They're in a far better place financially now than they were 13 years ago as a result. But they also can't bank on that run of good fortune continuing. If they lose Kane, they can buy new players but its a long shot that they'll be able to find one with the same quality on the pitch and almost an impossibility that they'll get one with the same commercial appeal off the pitch. No 10-year-old in the US or China is telling their parents that what they want more than anything for their birthday is a Richarlison or Kulusevski shirt.

I'm just not sure Levy is really prepared for a post-Kane world and I think as long he can convince himself that there's a chance of avoiding that world he'll keep dreaming on it.

You mean there was football being played before 1992?

Walker isn't their all time greatest ever goal scorer. Spurs fans were chanting 'Levy out' last season, how do you think selling Kane to United, City or Liverpool will go down?

Too bad he has wasted so many years of his career. I hope he finally joins United.

He’s coming here isn’t he. You can just feel it in the air. He will be our major Pursuit once we get the GK and second midfielder.

He'd win a large number of trophies Bayern and compete every season he's there for the Champions league, so he will basically be fulfilling what everyone says he's missing from his career.

Also it's one of the big five clubs in World football whatever way you look at it.

He may not want to leave the PL but Levy won't sell him to probably the only club who will buy him, us. So he either stays there and wins nothing or tries to win trophies somewhere else where they will let him move to. He's getting to a stage in his career where a year is a long time to waste without winning anything again.

So the problem isn't Levy but the delusions of the fans then. Because I don't see how letting him leave for free instead of getting 100mil for him is in any way smart. +they will still have to pay him his loyalty bonus for fulfilling his contract. Even if they make the UCL next season, I don't see how that makes them 100mil +his current salary for a yr+ loyalty bonus.

Is there any particular reason Levy suddenly hates Utd but is happy to sell to City etc? I don’t remember this problem in the past with Berbatov and Carrick. Only reason I can think of is that he sees us as a direct rival for top four now whereas in the past we were above them and not competing for the same spots.

Berbatov went on a strike, what are you on about?

Tottenham rarely sell to any of the top 4, why would they happily do that?

Rightly or wrongly, they’re a club that have ambitions on winning things and being a top 4 regular. What message does it send to their fans and the players they currently have if they openly sell their best players to direct rivals?

That would not only put us further out of reach of them but also put them further down the PL pecking order and back to comfortably mid table.

So why don’t they sell to us? Because it would be absolutely moronic to do so. Remember RVP? That sale confirmed Arsenal were comfortably dead as a title challenger and confirmed to their fans they had given up on any ambitions to be one and the beginning of the end for Wenger.

Can't believe that Kane would exchange the Premier league for the bundesliga tbh, if he wants a new challenge then putting Utd back on top would be elevating himself to new heights.

For even less than the €80m they're being offered
Probably around £50m, I don’t think Bayern will give a feck at that point but Tottenham and Levy will want to show that they did everything to keep him and he chose to leave, and they managed to get something for him.

No matter what they decide to sell him for it won’t be enough, like when we sold Ronaldo. Getting £80m didn’t soften the blow at all, we lost a great player and it set us back years while strengthening Madrid to no end.

Yeah and was replaced by Obertan,Valencia and Owen which still utterly staggers me to this day

The infuriating thing was that money went straight into the parasites' coffers. We spent less than £20million on Obertan, Valencia and Owen combined.

At least Levy attempted to reinvest the Gareth Bale money, albeit very badly.
