Harry Kane | Bayern Munich player

So he is Levy's bitch for not moving but when he might actually move to one of the biggest clubs in the world he is still Levy's bitch? Guy can't catch a break with you lot.
He became his bitch and continues in the role of Main Bitch when he signed that dumb contract.

He is welcome to go to Bayern and win the German league of course but that doesn't mean he's not dancing to the tune of that clown.

Gets to play in the CL as well and Spurs don't look like getting back into that soon.

Remains to be seen if Bayern can actually offer a decent amount (maybe around 100m) that Levy would accept. If they guy doesn't want to sell to United or any other PL rival unless it's a silly amount of 150m-200m then I don't think we can slate United here.

We have too many squad problems to blow a ton of money needed to get Kane. If everything else with the team was perfect then go for it.

If we got someone like Hojlund in and he contributed minimum 15 goals in all comps next season and shows signs of living up to his potential, then we can all laugh at this whole Kane thing as Levy loses him for free next year and how we didn’t get suckered into paying a nine figure sum.

This comment alone should tell you how tragic of a career he has had for a player of his abilities.

Alan shearer 2.0. Least shearer actually won a title before he decided to finish career at the age of 26.

But is he known as a title winner or scoring the most goals in the PL? I’d say the latter.

IMO being the highest goal scoring in PL history, which will stand for decades, holds much more weight than a league title. Especially a non English one.
Surely he'll win more than just a league title at Bayern, if he stays at Spurs and ends his career with no trophies it's a waste of his talent no matter how many goals he scores

Going to Bayern is a half way house of not winning a proper league and losing out on the scoring record.
Nobody bar Bayern fans will watch his spell in Germany
Maybe he'll get to visit London a few times.

I guess he's the best option after Lewandowski and Haaland, so I'd be happy if this deal came to pass, but I quite firmly expect to be outbid(den..? outbud? :D) by some PL and/or oil club, or Real.

Maybe he doesn’t care that much about individual records? I know quite a few players feel these things are important. But that doesn’t mean everybody thinks like this. Kane doesn’t strike me like a typical modern player anyway. If he was, he wouldn’t play for Tottenham at this age. So I don’t think something like this is out of the ordinary for him.

A player who swore on his daughter's life that he scored a goal because he was chasing the golden boot is not interested in individual records. Doubt it.

German league doesn't carry much weight? Underestimation of other leagues by some fans is astonishing sometimes.
astonishing? They win the bloody thing every year even this year where they have been bang average!

The overestimation of other leagues by some fans is astonishing, sometimes!

Phil Jones won a title….
Did I say he's a better player?
I'm saying a league title means more. Harry Kane will end up being a bit of a sorry case as the greatest player never to win a cup in your scenario - which is both sad and pretty hilarious. I'm certain he wouldn't want that. No one would.

Man, I have said I have no problem with him going to whoever, il simply saying what holds the more weight in history. For me being the top PL goal scorer holds more clout.

Levy won’t sell to England. I can see why he would want to go to Germany just for that experience and to feel what it’s like to be at a major club.
The move seems wide open to Bayern. I just do t expect him to stay there more than two years to give himself a chance at Shearer record

Again, he could win many titles as an Englishman in Germany, but I honestly don’t think anyone would give a feck.

He could here to Northern Ireland and win everything for the next 5 years but it’s meaningless. Someone will do it again in the next few years.

Its not meaningless to win silverware. This is such a typically daft Spurs rebuttal.

Again with the Spurs digs, u think winning silver wear means more than actually doing something very few people actually do? We will agree to disagree, sure a trophy means a lot, but it’s not gonna stand long in history. I was a tad hyperbolic perhaps.

I think both are important but calling leagues meaningless is just daft. And only typical of a fan who has never experienced it.

At this stage of Kane's career, a league title and chance to challenge CL probably is more important than a goal scoring record in my opinion. It is just like a world cup title is more important to Messi than Ballon d'Or ,Golden Ball or Golden boot award in the world cup.

You have a point here. Though this might have changed for him? Maybe he realised this windows might be his last chance to win something?

City won 5 of the last 6 prems :wenger:
So three straight? Hardly 10/11 though, is it? Besides, City is one of the best sides in the world, although it's hard to say that. BM has been poor this year and has still taken the title. It's a poor league and to argue against that is very silly.

I hope we back out of this one - yes I would love to have Harry Kane - but not for close to £100 million + £20 million in wages a season for (probably) 4 years. No player in todays market is worth £180 million when his value most likely is next to nothing in 4 years. Sure if we could get him for £50-60 million I am all for it, but not for the price Spurs want. For that cost, we can sign both Højlund and Ferguson and cover both their wages for the same cost as Kane, and not sit here in 2 years pondering what striker we are going to sign because Kane is showing signs of becoming too slow.

He is worth breaking bank for

I would say that for the overhelming majority of fans and players actually winning trophies is generally seen as the competitive goal of football. And there are countless other achievements that, while much rarer, are nonetheless clearly less valuable.

I'd take winning the Bundesliga over that goals record in a heartbeat.

That answers itself though, of course you're going to be remembered predominantly as the leagues top scorer if you hold that record.

However, trophies rather than personal records are what gets you recognised as a true great.

It goes with the territory, the players competing for trophies are scoring big goals to win the silverware, which are remembered, rather than scoring a late winner to move Newcastle up to 8th in the league. He's obviously one of the greatest strikers of all time, but his trophy cabinet doesn't back it up and he's very rarely in that conversation of best number 9s of all time in world football.

Most things in football tell you that winning trophies is what leads you to that. Who usually wins the balon d'or? Best player from the team who won the champions league.

Maybe. I think it's been obvious for some time that he wants out. Maybe he knows levy will not accept any offers from the PL and Bayern is the only realistic destination.

Kane, no matter what he does will never win the Balon D’or…. Ever.

Yeah that first part is what really annoyed me,we just haven't got the rest of our squad in order despite spending a fortune. Now means when a top class striker is available we can't splash the cash on him.

My bet is you've never played any type of semi serious sport. It's all about the feeling and emotion and experience of the whole journey, the moment you win some silverware mate. It's very explosive and very hard to describe that. I cried like a baby when we won a fecking Sunday league tournament 12 years ago. Have you seen any player crying when they got the golden boot or break a record?

We all, of course, only remember Alan Shearer because of that one league title he won at Blackburn. Were it not for that, he'd be a nobody.

The problem here is there's basically two months left till the end of window. That fecker knows very well he needs to sell this summer. But he also knows very well how good Kane is and how dire the striker market is. So he must sell but he's not in a real hurry.

Even if by 30th Aug that cnut says 60m now at least 5 top clubs would bite his hands off I reckon. Thing is imo that bold mf wants at least 80m if Kane goes abroad. And 100m if Kane stays in England.
2 months is plenty if you're competent tbh, Levy is gonna the downfall of Tottenham. It's crazy he is still in place the way he's been running things
