The desperation of the media to get Kane out of Spurs is annoying. England No 9 is bad business for Manchester United.

Tottenham is good for him and England, coming to United now won’t make him a better player. It will just be another unnecessary media circus ETH will have to deal with.

If we sign Harry Kane now, we should forget the idea of bringing in an understudy because it will be a waste of money and time. That player will never be allowed the time and opportunity by the media for the next 4 years to develop. Everything he’ll do will be picked apart bordering unsettling, we will end up with another Rooney situation of United fans wanting him dropped but the media backing him because they want him to rediscover his youth for the good of England.

Our manager is not established himself yet in the English game to involve himself in their drama. Let Tottenham house him, they’re usually the residence of the England no 9 anyway.

ETH handled Ronaldo just fine Kane won't be an issue I think.

And why not an understudy? Last season we played an insane amount of matches this season would be pretty the same imo. Kane will be 30 next season he shouldn't play every matches I think. Let alone the next 4 years.

What the team became after Ronaldo left compared to when he was around. He handled him alright but he didn’t sign Ronaldo.
No reason why he should not but it doesn’t really work like that does it? Harry Maguire, Sancho or even Rashford and Shaw to a lesser extent. Martinez not good enough, Antony waste of money, Martial inconsistent and Telles/Malacia can’t defend.Have you not seen the pattern?
Im not blaming the media for looking out for the NT because it’s the right thing to do. Just don’t want too much of that drama in our own backyard. Have you ever wondered why all these years no understudy at Spurs has done good things or during the days of Shearer he had no understudy at Newcastle? There is a reason why most top clubs avoid the politics of having the countries No 9 as their striker.

If not Kane which world class proven top scorer you think we should sign without the media making some noise about?

For the understudy stuff Kane is 30 now it's just very different with his previous time at Spurs. Plus imo it's not really a reason we should say no to a world class player. And it's not like we already have any understudy for that position anyway. Or probably even the money for that. Which team in the world could be stupid enough to say no to a world class player because of some young player they don't even know who that might be let alone sign him? That sounds just too stupid tbh.

Anyway I don't think this discussion would go anywhere so we'd better agree to disagree I think.

Nothing like imagining a situation in your own head and telling a tale of horror of doom and gloom for both Kane and Manchester United to justify why we should stay away from one of the elite strikers who is a sure shot thing to succeed here. Very convincing indeed. I am so in and Kane is actually Rabies.

He would score goals for fun at United and I really don't think there would be any type of circus.

Anyone United sign gets criticism from the press

Casemiro = too old
Antony = waste of money
Eriksen = past it


Grealish = just needs time to settle
Kelvin Phillips = just needs time to settle


The press will always try and create drama at United, as that what sells.

I don't know that this is the same situation as the city move. Back then if he threatened to down tools, a stubborn levy could have kept him for 3 years and not played him and totally fecked his career, now he can leave on a free next summer, he certainly has a bit more leverage to force the move his time around

I have never heard of him a troublemaker. In fact he is highly respected by his peers for his professionalism. Not even saying he himself will be disruptive at all.

I also think Kane is in his prime and I see him giving us at least a perfect 3 seasons because he is capable and I’ll be a fool to ignore that. Whatever the fee is its true valuation of his ability. Not disputing any of that.

The things I have an issue with, we’ve all seen played out in front of us time and time again. Yet we are expected to sweep it under the carpet.
 
Harry's brother-agent wants us to do the dirty work for him but Harry needs to grow a pair and force the move.

Now he's trying again to ramp up the interest for Harry.
 
Im of the opinion that a bad start for Spurs could see us signing Kane in January for 60-70m.

Selling Kane after a bad start would only see them plummet further down the league. 0 chance they sell him in Jan.

Agree that cnut Levy really hate us. But imo he didn't make his current fortune by making decisions based on sentiments. That cnut is simply a businessman. And they're all about money.

Imo the problem with Levy is he's just too greedy with his evaluation for Eriksen, Alli etc. and especially Kane. And his project to make Spurs to become a top club, which was almost succesful when they reached the CL final. But clearly has failed miserably now. Tbh I couldn't find any logical reason for that cnut to not sell Kane this summer. We all know Spurs won't make top 4 next season Kane or no Kane.

I think the only way we get Kane is if he puts in a transfer request and makes it clear he won't sign a new contract so it's either sell him now or get nothing for him next year

obviously the VAST majority of what is written is complete bullshit and speculation. There must be people out there who genuinely do know what he would like in an ideal world though. I think that's what keeps people on the hook, because maybe Kane has let it be known (either deliberately or through word getting around) that United is his preferred destination? I mean, it's kind of a no-brainer if he's set on staying in England and would prefer not to stay at Spurs.

Hes already made it pretty clear that hes not signing a new contract at the moment. Tottenham know the reality of their situation but they also know that there is no good decision. They have a new manager coming in who could be great. If they can keep Kane and get CL football they can perhaps persuade him to sign a new contract because he has shown that he has little ambition in the grand scheme of things.

Lose him this year, even for a large fee and they won't replace him and are almost certain to miss out on CL next year. Thats why its a tricky situation. No good options.
