Don't understand the hatred here. They played well with their hearts out and have fantastic set of fans. Worthy opponent and I wish them the best next time, unless its against us.

Yeah their fans were alright but I will say they weren't as tough as I thought they would be. Said it in the postmatch thread a lot of their players seem quite brittle for such big guys.

It wasn't exactly as bad as 99 from them but we closed the game out with some comfort.

In all seriousness, their turnaround since the takeover has been remarkable, without having to spend stupid amounts of money on muppet signings.

I thought they were a good team. Tough enough. Pretty small margins in a cup final. A nice set play and a slice of luck on Rashford's if we're honest, they had a number of opportunities in and around our box that might have broken in a similar way. Those moments set the game up for us and then it's very easy for us to know how to play, they had to make the game which is a tricky balance to strike.

Not saying we didn't completely deserve it, but I think they also showed the progress they've made.

With how much Saudi money were the commentators able to line their pocket if they praise the work being done at Newcastle at least 10 times to during the game and after?

Amazing, isn't it? We have people questioning Antony a couple of days into his stint here, yet Howe leaves their 70m striker on the bench for their biggest game in 60 years and you hear nothing about it.
 
You can always count on an obese Newcastle (or Sunderland) fan with their top off, swollen beer bellies on exhibition.

The amount of play acting, screaming, surrounding the referee and rolling around is despicable. Crying out for yellows all game for our players. Wilson saying what Fred did was naughty, then kicking Martinez from behind later. And the hypocrisy when they were losing and Martinez played a little rough with them.

I'm actually quite disappointed in Howe and its put me off him. Seemed more likable at Bournemouth.

All I kept hearing beforehand is how pope is unlucky to miss this game as it was a different competition (at least commentary mentioned their Bruno under the same logic would miss this final)

Also the other narrative a lot of pundits went with was the redemption of karius.

I do admire fans who stay and cheer their team to the bitter end as they did today .There is a touch of “ look at us aren’t we great “ about them though and has been since Keegan’s time.
Also don’t like the niggle the brought today. A few of them were intent on leaving one on one of our lads. Joelinton & Wilson in particular .
 
United winning the final, Jake Paul vs Fury this evening as my late evening entertainment. Off to Marrakech tomorrow morning. Happy days!
