Gylfi Sigurdsson

Hoffenheim bought him for about 8m pounds. Their club is silly. The management has been very poor since Rangnick left and no good player stays around there. They sell them all. Remember, Ba left there for peanuts.

He's the best set pieces taker in the league. No doubt about that (that's free kicks+corners+penalties). His main strength besides that is his consistency. I don't think I've ever seen him have a below average game or go off the radar like some of our best players do sometime every season.

In regards to United. He's a United fan so a move here would be his dream. If United wanted him they would get him and he'd cost less than any of our signings last season. No doubt. He won't be used in the middle in a 4-4-2. He could do a job there but it would be stupid to convert him to that type of player. He should be closer to the box as he's both great at shooting and picking out a through ball. If you've watched him at all at Swansea you'll see him do runs into the box, set himself up for a shot or make through balls.

His role for the national squad is behind the striker. In the last game he played striker because we didn't have a fit one against Montenegro. If you play football manager his position table is accurate. He's naturally fitted in front of the midfield but can play on the wings or central midfield or striker if you need him to. This guy has dedicated himself to football since he was 13 years old and his brother helped him out for years as a personal trainer. He's the same way as Beckham with his work rate and ethics.

Since United are so great at developing talent I'd love him here. I didn't think he was a fit before but after what he's done with Swansea, where I've seen his every game, he might be a great fit. Remember when we had Ronaldo and got actually excited when we got free kicks? Or Ronaldo and Vidic inside the box in corners? Now we can get that again. 9 times out of 10 he puts a great ball into the box.

It's quite simple actually. Whilst most kids were playing football for fun he was actually practicing kicking the football. He's already reached his 10.000 hours of training that and that's why he's so good at it.

Signed for Everton and playing like GOD

Player of the month and according to some icelandic media swe are taking a look at him now ! #gosspgossip

Wenger rang McDermott, Reading boss, and mentioned him according to McDermott.

hope none of the big boys sign him this summer, unless it is us. his freekicks alone is worth 10million pounds. ;)

lol@the gylfi hype. Could have told you he was something special 4 years ago.

Seriously sign him - we'd have very little to lose giving him a chance.

Could he be a decent replacement for Park/Giggs to an extent out wide ie provide a different option to the more direct wingers in Young, Valencia and Nani? I don't see him playing in the middle for us so it makes signing him moot if he can't play out wide

He is still 22 and have done very well in this league. However as Snow said, he plays in the position in which Wayne Rooney plays so I'm not sure if he will be a good signing. Will move to a bigger club in the summer though, that's for sure.

Excellent - was loving him at Reading last year. Great to see him back and performing.

Not sure if he can do the defensive side of a central midfield role - BUT - he is a big, athletic player so maybe could be trained. Could see his development following a Carrick-like progression - starting at AMF and then slowly shifting back to dictate player.

For 8m I wish we'd taken a punt on him. For all those loving Ramsey, Gylfi is by far the better player.

I hope he doesn't go to a too big of a club, I think he needs a team that is built around him being in the AM position. It suits him to be a big fish in a small pond.

I reckon he could fit in at a big club well. He's hard working so I think he could adapt his game and he's got the physique and energy to play deeper. I was saying we should look to get an established fourth striker or attacking midfielder in the summer, but I wouldn't mind taking a punt on him.

He seems like a player who would relish the step up too a big club.

From what the icelantic fans say, he is a very hard working dedicated man.

I dont think getting his big move would sidetrack him, if anything it would enhance him.

Surprised at the bump today. Thought he was pretty ordinary.

Hmmmm I dunno. If I had the option right now I'd probably take Ramsey. He'd fit in at United better than Sigurdsson. He doesn't seem particularly mobile either.

It would. He's such a hard worker and a professional that he would adjust straight away. His English is great and he's a Manchester United fan. If he would come here I wouldn't expect him to leave.

To get the most out of his type it wouldn't be best to play 4-4-2. We really lack some midfielders and there aren't that many that fit 4-4-2 that easily.

I'm a bit biased towards him but I do think he would become popular among the fans. He's tailor made for the English game and when he started out with Swansea he wasn't even match fit.

The fans at O.T would certainly love that cannon of a right foot

He's also pretty evenly footed. He's more likely to score with it than Giggs from outside the box. But that's not really surprising. He's been practicing shooting and passing since before he hit puberty. He's much like Beckham in that aspect. No wonder he was scouted as such a young age.

What are the chances of him wanting to stick it out further at Swansea? I'm sure he is enjoying the football there.

He's only on loan but If they get a bid that's accepted he'll accept, depending on what English teams are there. He'd be more likely to go back to Swansea than join Dortmund I reckon. Premier League is where it's at.

Yeah, right or left he's great. Against Spurs he had a shot on his left heading to the top corner before Friedel tipped it onto the post. I would love us to get him, but I think he'll end up at Arsenal. Wenger has supposedly talked to McDermott about him.

I really like the look of him from what i've seen. Technically he looks superb. Great shooting and set pieces, and quite an incisive passer. Good at making space in tight areas to get his shots away also. Cant believe he's only 22.

Technically he looks superb.

Got a great touch. The total package reminds me of Frank Lampard. Actually Lampard was the same age as Gylfi is now when he moved to Chelsea. If he can develop as much as he did from the age of 22/23 he will be a dominant player the next decade.

I just hope we have some sort of selling on clauses in his transfer.

Hoffenheim will most likely receive less than £10m for him as they seem to want to get rid of him as quickly as possible, hence the loan move in January, for some reason.

I'd take 10% of that. Just think how many Jason Roberts you could sign for that

True, but he must have something else...even Gibson was good at shooting from distance and we all know how a section of the fans treated him

He'd be a great option from the bench when we're controlling the match but still struggling to break teams down.

I don't think Gibson is better at Gylfi in any way at football. Wouldn't even compare their shooting. Gylfi hits the target. Gibson mostly has just power.

Even allowing for the fact Snow quite clearly wants to bum or be bummed by him, he's been very decent of late. Still not at all convinced he's any better than what we already have, at best, but he'll get a decent club at the end of the season if Hoffenheim let him go.

Dont think his girlfriend will like that.
