Film Greatest trilogy ever?

1. Godfather
2. OG Star Wars
3. Vengeance
4. Terminator
5. Indiana Jones/Batman/Aliens

Terminator, interesting.
What is the preferred continuity amongst fans ?

 Terminator 3 is an abomination.

Night of the Living Dead
Dawn of the Dead
Day of the Dead

Flawless, genre defining trilogy.

Pirates of the Caribbean:
1. Curse of the Black Pearl
2. Dead Man's Chest
3. At World's End.

Doesn't get the accolades it deserves for being an amazing piece of work.

Probably because 2 of those films are mediocre at best, or downright bad for the 3rd one. Unless you were being sarcastic?

I like the original Pirates trilogy good enough, but both the second and third installment have serious issues. It's not really enough to have one great film in a trilogy.

As for trilogies, it is unfortunate that so many trilogies has two great and one much less great entry. Terminator was my favorite such trilogy.

How can it be 7 pages and not a single nod for the Karate Kid trilogy.

Sergio Leone‘s „Dollar“ movies are considered a trilogy? Pretty good one then.

It's why they call it the Dollars Trilogy. It is indeed very good. One of those rare cases where each movie improves on the one before.

These (man with no name trilogy) and Godfather, even with the weakness of the third because the first two could be placed as the best film, either/or, of all time.

Much as I love Leonne's work he owes a fair amount to Kurosawa for the Man with no name trilogy to a certain extent. A Fistful of Dollars is pretty much a remake of Kurosawa's Yojimbo.
And Eastwood's man with no name is pretty much a take on Mifune's wandering Ronin.

Subjective list but,

S tier (watched each of these trilogies at least 3 times and will watch again, not too many weak points imo), in no particular order:

1. Chris Nolan’s Batman
2. Godfather
3. Dollars - mainly in this tier for the musical scores, though the stories were great.
4. LOTR (this is my least favourite one of this tier)

A tier (Really entertaining trilogies that I’ll happily watch again, but not as elite as the above:

1. Indiana Jones
2. Star Wars (4,5,6)
3. Monty Python (only let down by Meaning of Life)

A solid B tier (1-2 good movies in each series, but doesn’t capture the same nostalgia as A tier):

1. Matrix
2. Blade
3. Pirates
4. Cornetto trilogy
5. The 3 Hannibal Lecter movies starring Hopkins
6. Terminator
7. Back to the future
8. Desperado trilogy?
9. Aliens

I’ve only watched Oldboy out of the Vengeance trilogy but that was a cool movie.
