Yes because that's what lifelong Utd fans do. Get off your high horse. Some of us are just gutted he's going to City. Sancho is brilliant but Grealish is even better (at this time). As a Utd fan, it hurts

You are definitely NOT a United fan if you’re having a meltdown over this move.

Not going to lie, it will be interesting to see him in a Pep team.

The hype around him in an England shirt was unreal, I wonder if his cult status will remain once he is in a city shirt?

It will grow as his numbers will most likely improve under Pep.

Because Giggsy from Toronto who joined in 2016 says so. Feck off!
Grealish is a world class player who'll elevate us to a new level. We'll win the league with Grealish. You're supposed to have a meltdown as a Utd fan if he's going to your biggest rivals (who just won the league btw).

You should find comfort in your club having the best transfer window in ages. Varane and Sancho for the same amount of money. It’s a superb piece of business from our club. Grealish will have a much less impact at City then Sancho and Varane will have for us. Them buying Grealish and at the same time being priced out of Kane is even better. No time to hurt, get the hype up. We are in for a fantastic season.

Grealish improves City a little. Kane would make them UCL favourites as they're missing a striker. It's not disastrous.

Could he have elevated us? No doubt. But we just spent £100m on Sancho + Varane. No way we were gonna spend another £100m on Grealish. So it's not even like he's "one that's getting away". That ship sailed when Villa avoided relegation the season prior.

Then the question you have to ask yourself: this transfer season, would you prefer Sancho + Varane vs. Grealish?

Me? Sancho and Varane for sure.

Martial better than Sancho is delusional fanboyism at its finest. He's never had a season anywhere close to Sancho's best so far, and he's a bloody child in comparison.

Hah I would also like to take a smoke of that. Martial is finished at top level. Compare impact and outputs of all three players Martial is nowhere near.
Agree to disagree. Move along Im not arguing this with you.

Some mad comparisons going on in this thread.
A few people need to step away for a bit I think.

A ploy to get spurs to accept a deal for Kane.

Grealish doesn't offer city anything new. Kane does. They are desperate for a CL and will try a traditional striker.

My hope is they get Kane, he throws off city's balance and we get Grealish next season when Pogba leaves.

Martial has been unplayable at times and some of his peak performances have been better than Sancho. Ofcourse he is not consistent enough to warrant a comparison season wise.

I’m actually looking forward to Martial - Cavani (Greenwood) - Sancho.. now that Rashford is out. Its make or break for him this season.

I'm all for City dropping £100m on Grealish. Surely that means no Kane with Spurs and Levy probably wanting at least £160m for him.

What an immature and petulant response if you have to resort to saying "feck off"
Here's a dose of reality YOU CANT SIGN THEM ALL LAD you'll get some top players while missing out on others remember Ronaldo/Ronaldinho?
Grealish is a top player no doubt but truth of the matter is his improvement on the team would have been marginal cause he'd have made us better but without solving any problem since his best positions are where we're strongest(LW/No10) and it would be redundantly stupid of us to spend ONE HUNDRED MILLION POUNDS on a player who doesn't solve any major problem that's a lot of money for a square peg in a round hole which a lot of fans like you a year or two down the line would be bashing the club for going through with
Sancho being better than Grealish is a debate but what's undeniable is he'll improve us while solving a long term problem on the RW that's what will help us go to the next level not a luxury signing being made for the purpose of the player being a media darling or stopping City from signing him remember how it worked out with Alexis?
Long story short stop whinging over an extremely irrelevant topic and actually appreciate the better business we've done with Sancho and Varane over Grealish who's fee would have 100% stopped us from strengthening elsewhere

I didn’t expect this thread to be so volatile.

Team full of quality midfield/attackers signs player of similar quality. Hardly a revelation.

Whereas we have gone from having no natural right sided player to one of the best in Europe and have replaced Lindelof with Raphael feckin’ Varane!

There is only one team winning the transfer window so far independent of where Grealish goes, and that’s us.

If it hasn't been posted already, Grealish is back in training today. Not exactly the done deal the media have been making it out to be. If we were to believe them, he's supposed to already be in Manchester getting ready for his medical:

Not sure why this has turned into a Sancho vs Grealish thing, but you guys have bought an absolute gem, who is 5 years younger, nearly 30m cheaper and just completely bossed one of the best leagues in the world. Whether or not Grealish is currently a better player (who even knows), but City signing him doesn't take any gloss off your signing.

Thank you for your perspective as a Villa fan. It seems like we have a large number of whoopers in our fanbase.

Say it louder!

We’ve signed a generational talent & our fans are crying into their cornflakes because Citeh are signing yet another player.

We can’t have them all & Sancho looks a perfect fit for our set up. Can’t we let them play a bit before moaning about what the neighbours are up to.

Here here!

We're having our best transfer window in quite a while and you'd think some would take a break from the doom and gloom! I'd have loved to have Grealish a united but it wasn't in the cards. We already look so much better on paper

I wouldn't be massively surprised if this wasn't City's last attempt to push the Kane 100m deal through.
Try and worry Levy that they'll walk away and do Grealish instead.

Loving the city mob on twitter trying to take some sort of moral high ground over this transfer.
Apparently pep spending the best part of a billion is offset by the sale of Sane.

They're approaching Scouse levels of delusion.

City are after a top player, nothing unusual about that.

But what’s up with the diaper look — pulled up shorts — that Grealish and others are sporting these days?

You’re an absolute melt, go to the bluemoon to be with your own, you’re definitely no red!

We’d win the league with Grealish!? You clearly haven’t watched us enough then or seemed to have lost sight of the fact we’ve strengthened two areas of need in the squad with world class players. You sad Grealish fan boy.

If we ensured grealish that we'll come for him next season then he might stay at villa till then.

What position are you going to play him and in place of whom?

Imagine being 26 with less England caps than Phil Jones

Couldnt make that England squad ahead of JLingz for the past 4 years yet people acting like he’s a Messi/Ronaldo hybrid

On average he’s got 5/6 goals a season. Spent almost half his career in the Championship.

None of this means absolutely anything with regards to his quality as a player.

Im actually taken aback by how petulant some (really just the one) are on this signing. Grealish as the first £100 million Englishman is so underwhelming and such an obvious over pay. The only players deserving of a record fee are Kane or Sancho.

It suggests he wasn’t good enough to play for England and spent 3 full seasons in the Championship without a PL club signing him but putting all that aside and just judging him on the last 2 seasons in the PL with Villa I don’t think he’s been that amazing anyway.

He had a good start to last season but then spent most of the second half injured. His first season up was ok but again nothing amazing with Villa lucky to stay up. Went to the Euro’s and spent most of the time on the bench.

He’s a flair player among a bunch of mediocre players (no disrespect Villa have done well to stay up etc) he’s good at taking players on and looks great in a YouTube highlights video, he’s a good player but if you’re getting £100m you should snap City‘s arm off he’s not worth that and isn’t among the elite players in his position imo.

It feels a bit odd to come to a Manchester United forum and have fans suggesting they'd swap their talisman and most productive player in recent years for Jack Grealish, a talented player, but one with only 15 goals and 16 assists in 96 matches.

Fernandes has managed 26 goals and 19 assists in almost half as many Premier League games.

Maybe it's Grealish's 34% shooting accuracy? Or perhaps it's his 23% cross accuracy? It could even be the 26 "big chances" he's created in his ninety six Premier League matches. Perhaps it's Grealish's youth? At an entire year younger than Bruno Fernandes, he has the potential to play for a couple of extra seasons in which to close the glaring statistical gap, though he's already squandered the opportunity in the 45 more Premier League games he's played than Fernandes.

I dunno, get rid of Fernandes and pay twice what he cost the club for a player who has achieved half as much? Maybe, he sure does have nice hair.
