Gaming Grand Theft Auto V | 2022: GTA+ (monthly GTA Online subscription) announced exclusively for PS5/Xbox Series

Well your post is just all assumption. You want to wait another 3 or 4 or even 5 years (knowing Rockstar) because you think the scope and graphics might be better? That's just pointless, yeah the graphics would be better, yes the map would be bigger, but the wait makes all that defunct. At that rate we'd have 1 GTA per console generation, which is terrible.

We've still got 6 months or more to wait for this game, yet you want to push it back more?! Crazy and hypothetical in the extreme.

It wont have to be 3 or 4 years, they can continue their development cycle and release it in time for the beginning of the new console releases next year. Just because they're developing on new consoles doesn't mean they have to start again from scratch. I imagine they didn't do so because not enough people would have bought the new consoles for GTA V to sell as well as its predecessors.

The graphics look great. Open world games with huge maps will never have the graphics of an Uncharted game. Compare it with games in the same style at least.

Thats why I love Rockstar, their protagonists in the GTA games are never cliched ....well CJ was a little, but he was still an original character.

The game looks incredible. The previous titles have been great, but eventually there will be that feeling that you've ran out of things to do. There won't be any of that this time for a good while by the looks of it. The map will keep you going for a long time. I appreciated it in RDR and GTA 4 when you could do so much, but then somehow find something else. That's going to be the case with this you feel and doing absolutely everything will take a long time, which is what you want. You want a vast world, where there's a lot of exploration and freedom, with that f word being key, to it.

The three protagonists idea sounds interesting too and I've warmed to it. When I first heard of it I was sceptical and thought it would create a confused, clunky narrative but if they do it right it'll only add to that vast world. The dynamic between the three of them on particular missions has the potential to be great as well. I enjoyed IV's storyline, but on repeat play many of the missions were boring and repetitive. This has the potential to retain that realism the game needs to be taken seriously, but to also give a more interesting, diverse and enjoyable feel to them as well.

I just played San Andreas again for a bit. After holy shitting at the graphics I still had great fun on it. Rode a motorbike up Chilliad listening to K-Rose as the sun set. Drove off it at the top and jumped off my bike and parachuted down, landing back on my crashed bike. Then rode to the San Fierro airport and flew a plane to my desert airport, where I got my Harrier which I then crashed accidentally into a casino in Las Venturas. Then I got another jet from the airport there and bailed out over Grove Street in Los Santos. The jet crashed right on Grove St, and I didn't open my parachute in time, also crashing on Grove St.

If this game keeps the fun from SA and has all the different environments (unlike GTA IV) then it's going to be awesome.

Ahh, K-Rose. I found myself singing along to most of the songs on that station.

Classics. K-Rose needs to be in GTAV.

Was it San Andreas that started including real songs? I was disappointed by that.

If by "real songs" you mean licensed music than GTA III was the first to include it, mixed with music written specifically for the game, some from GTA and GTA 2.

From Vice City onwards all of them had a fully licensed soundtrack.

Why the hang-up on the "bald guy". GTA doesn't do 'action-film stereotypes' (Nico...)

The GTA IV soundtrack was pretty terrible. Vice City was arguably the best, even Love Fist were cool. But I actually put a few K Rose songs on my ipod. Hoping for a return to form for this

Can't wait to drive out into the sticks and go crazy in some petrol station or something.
The last GTA missed a lot being just in the city.

Wonder how long the petrol trails can be?

/psycho thoughts

No matter how many times I read this:

The big boast is that the world is bigger than GTA: San Andreas, Red Dead Redemption and GTA IV combined.

I'm still unable to wrap my head around it... that's an ungodly size for a GTA style environment...

Lovely. SA and Vice City had the best music for me. GTA IV's music was rubbish by GTA standards.

I was playing GTA IV last night and the soundtrack is atrocious. Whereas I was singing along to nearly every song in VC and SA.

I cant remember what the name of the station was in Vice City but one had the Scarface soundtrack, I always listened to that. Awesome.

I always listen to the Electronica station in IV but it isnt that good. Cant find anything I like more though.

BTW, in IV is there a way to turn the sound of SatNav off?

I listened to V-Rock on VC. I wish Love Fist were a real band :(.

On IV, I basically just waited for Heaven and Hell to come on again. Can't remember the name of the station, but Iggy Pop was the host.

Vice Citys soundtrack was fantastic... definitely my favourite of the games so far. It's probably the only GTA game I could listen to every station and enjoy what was on offer.

 Same.

Such a waste having so many pointless tracks. The previous games always introduced me to some new music which was genuinely good to "drive" to. I'm not a country person but even the country music would be interesting and fun to listen to. Whereas in IV, music is just something that's there really going on in the background.

I'll check it at about 6pm when it's been analysed to shit.
