Graeme Sourness | Retires from “punditry”

"Pogba's first touch for the goal was poor"

It was an amazing touch, just teed it up for himself. You just know he cannot appreciate anything Pogba does now.

Quite enjoy him doing Utd games though now you guys are on a good run, really must piss him off no end :)

I think the Sky pundits are told to steer him to Pogba because he’s become a parody of himself. It’s like giving Merson difficult pronunciations. It’s “entertaining” apparently.

He’s been getting roasted on social media after rudely interrupting Alex Scott?

I didn’t see it. Anyone got a video of the incident?

Carragher being complimentary towards United and Sourness is having none of it.

And did he say Liverpool have better keepers? Honestly not sure but sounds like it. In which case

Most biased pundit around.

Better keepers comment just confirms hes a senile twat that should just retire from punditry gracefully.

They should've given his job to Yosser Hughes.

It's always funny when Carragher and Souness are in the studio together.

Carragher always seems like he cannot stand listening to any more of Souness and the nonsense he comes out with. It's like he's having to listen to Grandad talking about why Brexit is a great idea. Just nod and smile and ignore him.

Seems to go out of his way to find fault and nitpick like a remoaner

He embarrassed himself interrupting Alex Scott after she was talking about teams having a low block. He interrupted and asked her “what’s a low block? This modern terminology..” She said it was a defensive wall of four or five, so Souness responded condescendingly, “...so, defending deep.”

He seems to resent Alex Scott, that's for sure. He has a sneering attitude towards her.

He was trying to catch her out, the sexist twat.

The old man needs to go, far better pundits around and Alex Scott is one of those, its one of the few pundits I actually enjoy listening too, she knows her stuff.

He does seem to really dislike Scott. She also doesn't seem to give a shit, so fair fecks to her, because she's far better pundit than that ignorant old prick.

I think the original vendetta with Pogba thing is valid. I'm pretty sure Sky (and BT) encourage their pundits to say controversial stuff that will get people talking though. A few friends of friends have worked on the boxing side of Sky and have said they encourage Carl Froch to always bring up the Wembley with 80,000 people...including when he interviewed Mayweather as it winds people up and gets them some views and people talking.

I don't quite see the stuff with Alex Scott though, he seems pretty friendly with her whenever I've seen them together, he used to get pretty wound up by Henry and Redknapp a few years back.

Alex Scott is a pretty annoying pundit. Not because she’s female, she’s just pretty bad.

It is however very interesting that female pundits go the route of discussing tactics while male pundits use the crutch of personality and character.

Did he really say that? If so, that's unbelievably stupid. He is doing such a poor job of hiding his bias.

He didn’t just say it once, he kept going on about it even moreso than he did the pass that followed. He was at pains to stress how bad of a touch it was.

That's insane - I would love to see that clip actually.

At what point will Sky take any action, though? It seems like his irrational criticism of Pogba has actually become a bit of a meme - and not just among United fans. He even had the other experts laughing in his face at one point. Is this just a matter of controversy creating talking points, which will make people tune in?

Maybe Souness has a point. Let's swap Pogba for Keita, the latter is clearly the better player

I think he says better key players. If not, it's a bit of a weird non-sequitur.

There is a video doing the rounds of Alan Mcanally giving it another female pundit the other night.

In fairness the girls are doing fine but it almost feels like there is someone off camera prompting their inclusion in the conversation. The older ex pro's most certainly don't like having them around and it's almost like Sky are asking for another Grey and Keys moment.

The lemonhead said "They (Liverpool) have a better balance. Better goalkeepers"....his voice trailed off when he said goalkeepers while his eyes looked towards the ground.

He just tried to big up the Scouse again and lied between his teeth and knew it when talking about 'better keepers'.

How is she bad? She talks more sense than half the pundits.

Alex Scott is ten times better than this bitter twat. Carragher must be fuming on the inside, he's a good pundit that gets lumped in with shite pundits like Souness and McManaman because of the Liverpool connection.

Pogba to stick one in the top corner against them and Souness to spontaneously combust on national tv.

Souness clearly said better key players there. Even the phrase "better keepers" logistically makes no sense. Sure if you have tinted glasses for Allison you could argue he is better than De Gea, but who gives a shit if Mignolet is better than Romero and he even isn't!
