Gonzalo Higuain

The weird thing with Maradona is that he started very impressively. It's really amazing how he has never called up Higuain, very dumb thing to do as he has some shitty strikers playing instead of him.

Maradona does have Aguero,Messi,Milito and Tevez to choose from. Higuain is knocking at the door but his stubbornness to not pick Higuain is not the reason he is a poor manager. It is down to many things

Bound to be Maradona.

Domenech seems to be pretty tactically astute, he just uses boring tactics and is in need of an attacking player to step it up.

Maradona doesn't seem to have a clue, in any sense. Rubbish tactics, doesn't seem to be a great motivator(given he locked himself in his room for a few hours after the Bolivia defeat without even talking to the players) and an all round bad manager.

Sounds pretty speculative to be honest. In fact I'd say that Maradona's presence and charisma would suggest motivation isn't the issue. I also saw some footage from inside the Argentina team bus before the Scotland friendly in November and the place was jumping - with Diego leading the show.

In terms of Higuain, he appears to be exactly what Argentina need: a direct striker with a physical presence who can act as a fulcrum for the other attacking players to play their natural game. He would also provide an opportunity to drop the woefully underperforming Tevez.

As for Domenech, his problem seems to be in regularly picking the wrong players, e.g. failing to pick Pires, selecting Barthez ahead of Coupet, not giving Mexes a game.

He was given plenty of games but unfortunately for him he made some horrible performances.Domenech's biggest weakness is his level of tactical knowledge in comparison to other coaches and his constant concern of never playing with 2 DMs.Seriously having Toulalan in a team is good enough, no need to add Lass Diarra. As a result the forward are not given enough balls and possibilities to score so they stop making runs and stop caring

Marcella Mora y Araujo was talking about him and mentioned his lack of charisma in the last two matches, and then mentioned the specific lack of man management in the incident after the Bolivia match - and gave evidence.

It might be just a tad speculative but there is basis to it.

Yup Kouroux, I think Domenech sets his stall out too negatively at times.

It frustrates me as there are some very good players overall and I'm sure if it was Capello the performances would be much more impressive.

he was the reason Real did anything of note to be honest remember the Getafe game where he scored the late winner after Getafe had missed the penalty. His goals were invaluable for them

He seems to be a really good player. He won't get a look in next season at Real though.

I think he'll still get to play a big part. If they really start leaving him out for most games, Real are idiots.

I honestly don't think he is as good as some of you are making him out. He is an above average striker who quite rightly wouldn't get into the Argie squad ahead of the likes of Aguero, Lisandro Lopez, Milito or Lavezzi.

He had a better season and is younger than Lopez and Lavezzi whilst playing for a bigger club so i think he deserves to be in the squad ahead of them.

Milito was brilliant and Aguero is Aguero but i think Higuain certainly deserves to be in ahead of Lisandro Lopez and Lavezzi.

Spot on.

Over-rated by the usual suspects on here.

explain over-rated? If you watched him over the last 18months you'd be well aware hes come on leaps and bounds. Look at the mess of a club hes at and hes still managed to develop. Hes 21 FFS he got 22 goals last season. Pace, finishing, workrate and a touch of class when needed.

Thats why I rate him so highly but I'll leave you and Maradona to your own opinions

He's better than Lisandro and Lavezzi combined and he's had a superior season to Aguero by far so you just basically spoke nonsense. Argentina should seriously drop the likes of Tevez, German Denis and Co.They have other players who are just better

Did you watch him last season?

He was excellent, absolutely top class. Best player in La Liga outside Messi, Xavi and Iniesta. Performed better than anyone in the Premier League overall last year for me, and would've got far more praise if Barcelona weren't so unbelievable.

He scored or assisted a goal per game, 31 in 31.

The goal against Getafe to win it in injury time summed up his season, he really was their saviour time and again. His goal against Malaga was just a sign of his class.

He started off the season coming off the bench in the 80th minute and scoring the winner against Valencia in the 88th minute, and just continued that trend. He finished the season with 6 goals in his last 7, despite the rest of the team just falling apart.

Pretty much on the money Brwned. I don't think he was better than either Villa or Forlan, but he was definitely up there in that top echelon.

i didnt see him play last season but my friend told me he was class for madrid last season, by far their best player and one of the best plaers in La Liga. and my friend is a die-hard Barca fan.

I cant imagine what players like Drogba and Torres were like before coming to England. No doubt they were over-rated...
You didn't know? Drogba was "big for nothing" who "massively improved" in England under Mourinho. Whilst Torres was as pitiful as a Javi Moreno at Milan, never going to get up to 6 goals in England. Because "he couldn't score" at Atletico.... 25 million on him was a waste of money. Rooney at 30 million in comparison, aged 18 was a bargain and no gamble in any way according to the rating experts on here.

Probably bollox but...........

Personally Id take Higuain in a heartbeat. I reckon Gago might end up in Italy, Fiorentina could do with him now.

Atletico in Real Madrid talks for Gago, Higuain
07.08.09 | tribalfootball.com
Atletico Madrid have sounded out city rivals Real Madrid about the availability of Argentine pair Gonzalo Higuain and Fernando Gago.

Atletico chief Miguel Angel Gil Marin opened talks with Real president Florentino Perez about the duo two weeks ago, says Marca.

Gago is viewed by Atletico as a priority signing, while striker Higuain would come into the equation if either Sergio Aguero or Diego Forlan were to be sold before the summer market shuts this month.

He was alright, play him in the Premiership and put him up against an English defence on a cold winter's day away at Hull and he won't be as impressive.

He was shite against Liverpool in the CL, absolute shite.

Great player I'm sure for your Wankfest FC side on FM but would he cut it in the English league ?

Vidic had an absolute shocker against liverpool so does that classify him as utter shite ?
I'm sure Higuin has the ability to cut it in the PL but that goes to what team he moves to. Could even be top draw if he paired up with Rooney imo.

No, he wasn't though. Anyone who watched him regularly would've said he was very impressive, at the very least. You clearly haven't, and are basing a lot of your judgement off how he played in Europe.

As always, that's a rubbish way of judging players.

I rate Higuain as one of the most talented young strikers out there (also Pato and a coupl of others). He's been the most effective player going forward whenver I've seen Real, sometimes off the bench, over the last two years
