Golf 2024

Good start by Rory btw, all aspects of his game seem to be coming together and when he’s on song he’s still the best player out there imo.

Is Pinehurst the closest thing the yanks have to a genuine links type course (despite it be nowhere near the sea)?

Scheffler is an absolute joke. He’s been about as good as I am off the tee today, but where I’d have shot 170, he’s probably going to finish level par.

Schauffele you mean!

I actually meant Scheffler at the time thinking he was going to birdie the last, but you could say the same about Schauffele and him being shite with his irons all day but still shooting level par!

Rory looking very impressive today, really creative and accurate shots, putting was sublime. Great round that sets him up nicely for the tournament.
DeChambeau looks good as well in his own unique unaesthetic way the nob.

According to the golf channel commentators Schauffele was 2nd to last in driving stats.

The good old Rory boom bust boom bust cycle.

Rory is selecting the right club so far. At the masters and PGA he was coming up short all the time instead of clubbing up.

He's also playing for the center of the green whenever in doubt. Ross courses normally have inverted saucer-style greens which basically reduce the playing square footage of each green by 1/4 to 1/3%. If one hits a green out there, the birdie putt won't be too lengthy.

Is Bryson the best putter in the world? Takes his time over it but on difficult courses he holes an awful lot of them

then he pulls a 7 iron on a 220 yard par 3 and ball lands 20 yards short
