Golf 2023

I can assure you, if Brookes calls you out for anything, you probably did feck all wrong. It’s just his way of deflecting from being a bit shit.

See his ridiculous attack on Cantlay earlier this year.
I saw a video of Koepka just ignoring nearby fans and being a bit of an arse.

Perhaps this is a trend.

Cantlay does play at a fecking snails pace though

Ridiculous?! The only thing ridiculous is Cantlay’s slow pace. One of the reasons Brooks Koepka is popular with his fellow pro’s is because he says the things his fellow pro’s would like to say but don’t have the balls to.

Some insane putting/pitching from Europe. Felt like Rahm was pitching in every other hole and that fast start from Fitzpatrick won the match by about the 6th. USA will fight back but great first day of golf. Atmosphere sounds incredible.

Brooks is one of the good guys, he’s just very straight talking like Rahm actually. Brooks was right to call Rahm’s behavior out, that wasn’t acceptable on a golf course.
The irony being that crying about someone being childish (in his view) whilst getting beat comes off as, y’know.

Brooks crying about Rahm whilst not even taking his hat off to shake hands, lame

Peter Finch is as fake as that mark crossfield. His early videos he is very elitist and like anyone who isn't a single digit handicap shouldn't be on a course.

He seems Rick's formula of being a happy golfer and having fun and tried to copy it. You can tell it's forced.

They've all got some decent tips though depending which videos you watch. Shiels is just an easy watch, I actually prefer Guy in ricks videos, find him hilarious.

I can’t stand guy golfing? he always comes out with “I’ll just get a hole and one” type shouts, but he’s VERY good as a podcastco host, although this last episode I counted 9 times where he said “whatever it may be”

Dustin Johnson being interviewed and complaining about the sickness, thanking the medical staff, talking about antibiotics and then belatedly trying to claim he’s not using it as an excuse is a fun start to the morning.

You mean Justin Thomas?

A lot of focus is on how badly the Yanks started, but I think the strength of this European side is extremely underrated and has gone completely under the radar. In terms of non British & Irish players this is the strongest European side ever by miles.

We’ve just played better. But it can’t be ignored how poorly the US have played too. Koepka and Scheffler being 4 over after 5. Spieth and Thomas will be at least 3 over after 6. That’s just downright bad.

Most of the Americans didn’t golf for 4-5 weeks before this, and it’s showing

They didn’t play competitive golf and I can imagine some player’s games are slightly undercooked. But these are highly trained pro’s and I don’t think you can really prepare yourself for Ryder cup golf just by playing tournament golf. And the Europeans are playing incredibly well. Scheffler & Koepka 5 down, you kidding me??

I think scheffler has to be one of the sick ones. Their double bogey was unacceptable

Hovland & Aberg are both playing at an extremely high level. If on Thursday you’d said Scheffler & Koepka are the World’s best golfers, few would disagree.

For me there was an issue with the American team and with some of their big guns currently struggling with their game.

He’s being accused by Koepka of losing his temper too often in the afternoon session and hitting a board in temper. Rahm’s another good guy who generally means well, but his temper & self control isn’t great on occasions. Sort of like a golfing Wayne Rooney.
That's not what is was, he was basically moaning about Rahm's putt on 18 going in off the backboard

there’s few people golfing right now that you could get behind overtaking tiger… he’s one of them
He's very much behind Tiger's early career. Hell, he's behind Spieth's early trajectory.

If Tiger & Jack are going to be overtaken as GOATs of the eras in which they played, we aren't currently watching that person(s) play.

Brooks given up
He looked like he didn't even want to hit that 4th shot, as if he was happy to concede after 3. I'm not sure if the illness in the US camp is worse than they're letting on because the performances and mood of their players is so far away from what was expected, 9&7 is embarrassing for 2 players of that quality despite how good Hovland is and Aberg looks set to be.
