I kinda dig the teams concept of it. That'll be fun.
Agree somewhat with the first paragraph, not so much the second.Because it has very little significance in comparison to the Majors. The Majors are all that matter in golf. The best players are hardly ever playing at the same time on the tour, diluting the quality and interest significantly.
The top level of professional golf should always have the best possible field at any given time but with the way it’s structured it protects old timers like a boys club, younger talents don’t get a look in unless they perform incredibly well on the Kornferry tour because you have so many players who are protected with various bullshit exemptions.
Has to be. $400 million was reportedly offered to Tiger for feck’s sake. The amount of money that must be flowing out behind the scenes to get these guys to flip must be eye watering. I don't get what the end game is though because I can't see how 2 competing tours can survive.
I said it above but I'll say it again. This really comes down to sponsors. If the PGA holds the line and keeps the sponsors in line (all the major golf brands, mecedes, etc.) then the new tour becomes a massive negative cash flow for the Saudi's. Similarly, if the networks in the USA stay in line there is no TV revenue stream. Unless the Saudi's are willing to burn a boatload of cash for years to try and wear the PGA down I just don't see how this works. Oh, and deliberately choosing to host an event at a Trump club, while it may appease the asshole, is not a good way to Sportswash yourself.
I can now ignore the existence of Bryson DeChambeau and Patrick Reed
It’s not. Addition by subtraction, honestly.Dewankbeau & Reed are 2 of the best, so that’s a blow to the PGA tour for sure.

He might, but I just know I won’t miss him or Reed.Decnutbeau is a big name that might turn more heads, there’s no doubting that I’m afraid.

Came here to post this very fact.He might, but I just know I won’t miss him or Reed.
LIV is gonna have to blow a wad of cash now on rules experts though.

It’s always good to see a redemption story.I wonder if he wasnt as close with Tiger whether or not he would have different views. But JT always comes across well in interviews, and is by far and away my favourite golfer to watch.
USGA came out & stated that anyone who qualified for the tourney in a week are in. Who knows about next year & beyond.Based on this ESPN article it appears that tomorrow is "line in the sand" day. If the PGA is serious it would appear that anyone who tee's off will be in line for punishment up to a lifetime ban from the PGA. If that happens, and the LVI folds, some guys are going to be fecked. Also, the majors seem to be be slow playing this but it would appear that the USGA might just let things play out and the Masters might just ban guys who don't qualify using the current system.
What we know and still don't know about LIV Golf, the circuit challenging the PGA Tour (espn.com)
Always find statements like this quite hilarious. That’s coming from someone who wishes he didn’t exist.Who couldn’t have predicted Bryson going. Bloke so far up his own arse it’s not funny and generally not that good of a golfer.

He’s literally in the top percentile of golfers to ever play. He’s more than good at golf.Had a look at his recent performances? Injury or not he’s been pants for nearly 18 months.

Agree with this, I’d expect it to happen soon. Why do the Saudis not go and buy sports journalists.
Has worked fantastically well for Abu Dhabi and City who have gotten glowing media coverage and sports washing from day 0
