Glazers / Woodward out! (One down)

People who are still defending Woodward and the board needs to asked serious questions. Last 4 windows including this one we have just added 6 players which includes a third choice keeper from stoke, a raw.young winger from a championship side and a back up young rb from Porto. If this is.called backing the manager or rebuiilding then I give up. The real problem goes beyond the manager. Fans have to speak up.

of shrugging and excuses

Well that's not what I did. And your post makes no sense since I haven't supported the status quo. The Glazer and Woodward not being good enough for United doesn't mean that we need to be hysterical about it and make up things about our rivals recent rise to success. I have always been favorable to the Glazers and Woodward being ousted for better owners but it doesn't mean that the Glazers are the devil, they are simply exactly what we had pre-SAF which is demonstrably not good enough and we don't want pre-Klopp FSG either.

I understand people don't want Saudi takeover because it was reportedly linked to their government. Some people have perception that Saudi government is cruel and brutal.

What is wrong with Chinese takeover? There was no link to their government (BTW I think Chinese government is perfectly fine regardless what Western media trying to spin). Or all the 1.4 billion Chinese are bad?
Of course all Chinese are not bad. But their companies are all very close linked to and/or controlled by the government.
What the Chinese pulled with the Houston Rockets games made the NBA kneel before them and throw freedom of speech out the window. Same with the Mesut Ozil thing, which Arsenal should have stood up against much stronger than they did. And thats just an entity (NBA) and a football team thats not even owned by any Chinese entity. Its quite scary.
In many instances China have shown that they have no qualms of openly putting pressure on sporting entities that are dependent on them financially for political purposes . I really dont want to any person/entity governed by China close to actually owning United.
It does not matter if its a Chinese billionaire thats a really nice guy.
What do you think would happen if a United player came out and criticised the Chinese government (and there is a lot to criticise them for) considering the Ozil drama if we actually were owned by a Chinese entity?
When it comes to City and PSG, their owners have done the opposite and really went out of their way to play by "Western" rules in the jurisdictions where they own clubs, while continuing committing atrocities on home soil. I am sure the Saudis would act in a similar fashion.
I dont know what is worse to be fair.
No thanks to both.

That's exactly what they are. Owners who lack the basic understanding of football, are expected to hire the right people. But they don't, they hire their trusted people like Woodward. If you ask Joel Glazer how would he want United to play football he wouldn't come up with a coherent sentence. It's such a detachment that can only be overcome by hiring the right people, which the Glazers clearly aren't interested in or capable of doing. Woodward is the sole person responsible for the direction of this club. His ideas. And he himself has proven time and time again that he doesn't have a vision. Hiring polar opposite managers, one after another, scrapping everything and doing 180s.

feck all this, I'm tired

And that's the type of attitude that bothers me because you clearly have no idea about what the devil looks like among sports owners.

The people who could make a stand for the club don't want to. For me, this is the saddest part of this tragedy.
I never expected some American fraudsters to love MUFC, but I expected our match goers to. Turns out they only want to sing and get drunk.
That's just how the general public are, which United's support are a slice of. The general public are mainly massively uninformed and apathetic on top of that.

I was planning on acquiring a Green & Gold scarf outside Old Trafford on Saturday, but quickly realised that I could be mistaken for a Norwich fan.

It shouldn't even be safe for Woodward to step foot in the stadium anymore. Real Madrid fans would have chained him up somewhere in a warehouse somewhere had.it been them.

This club isnt going to recover until him and the Glazers are gone. The sooner all our fans realise this, the better.

If by the end of the month we end up out of both domestic cups, drop any further behind in the league and end up recruiting no one capable of improving us one bit it could finally be the tipping point for some.

Yeah but there will be some serious twitter hashtags going on if they’re not careful.

The most effective method would be stadium walkouts, not attending matches, unfortunately that will never see the light of day so

Good wording)) you mean we bought Fred, Maguire, and AWB (plus those mentioned by you) since summer 2018?

I agree that they should go, but the reality is, unless a. the glazers decide that Woodward's tenure has been a failure or b. They sell the club, these thing will not happen. Neither Woodward or the Glazers should affect our play on the field, but their lack of action and direction has caused this problem. We are a club who actually needs a director of football to oversee the footballing side of the club. We are struggling heavily with our recruitment yet the same team members are still there, we are struggling with our negotiations yet the same people are still there. On the field, players who have consistently under-performed for years are still there....Jones, Lingard and Shaw have consistently put out poor performances. The truth about it is this, at Utd, the standards should be so high that a player who is not productive, not great but performing less than expected, like Lingard, who provides a net negative on the pitch, and performs at a lower level than almost all teams in the premier league should be shipped off after a single season. Players like Djemba, Bellion, Prunier etc were given that sort of treatment and that is the way it should be here and at any top level organization.

I wonder if the glazers are waiting to see if we qualify for the cl or not before deciding if they should sell up?

Sort of sacking themselves when CL is mathematically impossible(like they do with managers) but with a 3bn pay off.

Part of me wants a couple of bottom half finishes just to rid the club of these parasites.

I think they’re looking to sell,

-Not looking like we’ll be buying players despite the urgent need for some.

-Offering contract extensions to deadwood (including Young but he wants to leave)

-Selling players and not replacing them.

-Hiring Ole (massively under qualified) and selling the “culture reboot” narrative to save even more money.

-Not investing much the past few windows.

They’re all about money, and I’m sure they’d be fuming with missing out on the Adidas and the champions league money, surely they know they need to sign new players and a better manager to get back to winning, but by not doing either, I think they’re just pocketing as much money as possible before they leave.

At least that’s what I hope for :D.

Yes. 3 first team players in a time when we need to rebuild. Also, in this time have we have sold or let go Lukaku, Herrera, Smalling, Fellaini, Valencia, Darmian, Sanchez. 6 in 7 out. We can all put some blame on Ole but incompetent as he is even he cannot be happy with this. Truth is board have screwed yet another manager but this big time.

its never been this bad. Liverpool fans done it and was noticed straight away

It not though is it, not at this stage anyway we’re currently 5th in the league, have an f.a cup replay with Wolves at home which could go either way and still in the Europa league. We’re also still in the league cup technically although almost certainly won’t turn that around.

Now let’s be clear I’m in no way defending what’s currently going on I despise this current regime as much as anyone, it’s fecking rotten to the core but as long as we’re still in these competitions and in sight of top 4 the match going fans aren’t going to be walking out anywhere. They aren’t even at the booing stage yet.

yeah this is what im getting at mate, the big picture not this weeks league position. Years ago we had a stable football club with competent people in important positions and still challenging for the top trophies

I completely agree mate but we’ve been utter shite for years now and there’s been no sign of major protests or walkouts at the ground. The last big effort was in 2010 with the green and gold campaign and it was completely ineffective and I think that’s left most fans disheartened and thinking what’s the point. If things continue to get even worse on the pitch and they fail to sufficiently invest in the squad then I think that’ll change but in the next few weeks or months I can’t see it just yet. Unfortunately.

Agreed they have asked for time to progress their plan. But with our lack early activity in the window doesn’t fill me with confidence in them even having a plan. You don’t need to be in the window to start negotiations. Just look at Liverpool.

if we don’t make signings in this window and results don’t improve serious questions and frustrations will surface once again.

signs are already starting to show, I was at the game on Tuesday and the fans mood was pretty bad. The fact we didnt sell out a semi final game against our rivals is a worrying sign.

have to agree. Just look at the efforts arsenal fans go to when unhappy.

mass walkouts. Letter from fan groups to the board and major unrest. We’re just very acceptant in allowing this to continue.

I’d like to think if a lack of signings takes place within this window it will start to anger the fans into taking action.

As it shows a lack of ambition from the board in resolving and getting us back to competing again.

The only way any kind of protest movement could be successful is by hitting the Glazers in the pocket, where it hurts. For them the club is a cash cow; they don't care about on field success and certainly don't care about the fans. Depriving them of income would be the only route to victory; which would mean an organised, sustained and unified campaign of not buying tickets/memberships, not buying merchandise and perhaps pressurising club sponsors. How many fans are actually prepared to do this? I would guess not many. I don't think there is the solidarity amongst the support to make a significant protest.

Glazers own the club.

It's like you own a historic house and your neighbor ors believes they own it and somehow drive its destiny. They tell you to use roses instead of tulips, paint it white instead of red.

No, you're just a fan.

This is why owning sports clubs is an attractive financial prospect.. tons of customer stickiness regardless of financial ups and downs. These customers almost never jump ship.

Who was that absolute muppet that was defending these inbred cnuts over the summer?

Woodward and Judge treat transfer negotiations like company mergers. We need a high turnover of players yet they seem to get bogged down over bullshit.

Where the feck are MUST these days? Thought back in the day they had dialogue with the board. Anyhoo, you'd not see our board taking questions from fans on issues at the club.

We are a BRAND. A very trendy, global brand. We are run by bean counters. The quality of the actual product matters not to the board so long as there are enough 9 year old boys in far flung lands who "support" the team. Even if these "supporters/ consumers" couldn't name A player on the squad. Until the gravy train comes to a halt, or some other mega rich folks decide that they want a shiny new toy, we are stuck in Glazerwood.

As mentioned on Transfer Podcast, the fortunes of Inter changed in and around the time Giuseppe Marotta took charge. The mastermind behind Juve. This is why I'm so insistent on someone like Rangnick, as a DoF, a guy proven in his field and will work wonders within a constraint budget.

A simple signing like this could really change our fortunes and help save Glazer's spend unnecessary millions!

Attendances are starting to dwindle off now. More and more empty seats by the game. Not even selling out in a semi final against City is literally unheard of in all my time watching United. Writing is on the wall and the fans are sick of being taken for a ride. God only knows what the ST renewal figures will be like. I'm betting horrendous.
