Glazers / Woodward out! (One down)

Johan clearly knows his stuff, financially. But he's far too lenient of the Glazers and Woodward. Whats the point of being the richest club in the world when you constantly blow that money on garbage decisions?

Yes a lot of owners are terrible. They're all in it for the money but at least some of them are smart. Why shouldn't we be pissed off that ours aren't getting the club to reach its vast potential?
Agreed. He does understand business and adds value to the thread.

I understand the Glazers only see United as a business. For me, that is why they are ruining the football and are purely focused on profit.

Again... in terms of a protest. Boycott the Liverpool game.

That’s the only thing they’ll pay attention to.

Turn up to FCUM on the 12th aswell. We need the money and you’ll have a great day out...

The thing is, a lot of top clubs have controlled spending. Lfc, Leipzig, Dortmund, Ajax etc have controlled spending. The problem we have, there is no 'smart spending'. We need football guys making footballing decisions. We need a plan for our football team. We have no plan. No direction.

Anyhow, glad to see some of our supporters were chanting 'Glazer's out' last night. A few with Glazer's Out signs. It's a start.
Glazers out is the wrong chant. If it puts pressure on them firing or changing responsibility of Woodward, then it’s a good chant. Otherwise, it should be Woodward out chant

Glazers out is pointless. You need a buyer. Who in their right mind would buy United right now? And even when we git interest from the Saudis, the fans rejected it. It's a non-starter.

Woodward (and Judge) out is a more realistic target, can happen anytime, shouldn't be hard to replace, and we shouldn't care how well he does at commercial sponsorships (which isn't even his job btw).

These two are the real Chuckle Brothers that need to go, so you should campaign more directly against these two.

This. If you want action it’s up to the fans to show our frustration. I think boycotting over decision being made such as DoF are what we need to focus on. We need to pressure them into doing something because at the moment. Their not listening.

Arsenal support groups did it in the summer and the owners responded.

Somer fair points. But the Glazers are enabling Woodward. He is their man. Are they so incompetent they can't see he is failing? Or don't they care if the money rolls in?

Why is it down to the fans to try to remove an obvious failure?

Of course they don't care, all the Glazers care about is that the season tickets are renewed each season. They don't even care about whether the sponsors are unhappy at present, if the sponsors start making noise then they'll take some action in that area but as long as match-going fans are paying to see this rapidly declining bullshit at OT then nothing will change.

If that is what people want, focus on that.

The issue is some want to focus on other things which dilutes the protest as there are a million other criticisms that can be aimed at them.

Going forward, fans need representation on the board and the club needs to be more transparent. That’s a long term aim though...

I genuinely think these two come as a package. Ed won't go until Glazer's leave.

Thanks I guess to begin with.
I think its perfectly alright to be "pissed" or more constructively: ask questions and provide solutions to the issues at the club. There are a lot of good threads on here which does just that.
I dont really agree on the part that some owners are "smart", and ours are not, though. Who would that be?
FSG who were hated by Liverpool-fans until they got lucky with Klopp and Van Dijk?
Or Citys cheating owners?
Or Levy?
Or Arsenals fecked up ownership; now only Kroenke?
Or Abramovich who cant even get a Visa to the UK any more and seems to have lost interest in Chelskyi awhile ago.
Owners dont care about if the team wins or not except for the leveraging of that towards profits or in Citys case: dirty laundrying. I rather use that term than sportswashing, which is far to lenient to what they have been doing. It goes for all of the above.
Thats why I dont get that posters on here think that there is some unicorn benefactor out there. There is not. Owners of top class football-clubs are generally in it for the almighty dollar. Its just how it is.

We are the biggest and richest club around, we shouldn't be hanging around in the Europa with 0 shots on target at places like AZ. So yes other owners have been smarter because they've got their clubs, with less welath and less fame, to be much better than us.

When FSG took over Liverpool they were on the brink of going bust. Their team was a disaster. They changed that around, brought in the right football people, (which we still haven't done) got a top young coach in Rodgers (who some Utd fans now want as our manager 5 years later) built serious foundations to the point where Klopp said yes please. In comparison, Woodward tried to sell Utd to Klopp with the disneyland talk. Is it really luck he went to Liverpool? You make your own luck. Just like it wasn't luck City got Pep or Spurs replaced Sherwood with Pochettino.

Glazers/Woodward are driving around in a Ferrari but are getting blown away by Skoda's and Ford Focuses.

The Glazers won't sell, even if we get relegated this season. If people really think the club will take note and make a change, then everything needs to be directed towards Woodward.
We need Woodward at the club in a commercial sense, but not in a footballing sense. He is everything wrong with the club that can be sorted out. If we could get someone in who could direct the football side, I think that is the direction the club will take.
Woodward will be feeling the pressure right now, especially if we get beaten on Sunday (very real possibility). With the Scousers playing us after the international break, our league position will send the shares through the floor.

I want Woodward out, or at least removed from footballing decisions. Not bothered about the Glazer's as long as they remove Woody.

True, Woodward is the problem but the Glazers tolerate or even reward his incompetence as seen by him getting a raise for putting us into this massive hole. Even if we push them to get rid of Woodward they are likely to conjure up a worse version of Woodward, by that I mean someone who doesn't even care. Woodward is incompetent by at least he seems to care, he has supported every manager including Jose who got to spend £400m odd.

I think the fans need to target him more if only to give him a chastening moment that forces him to implement some form of structure at Carrington. The only viable solution right now is for United to bring in a top transfer market operator and give him budgetary parameters to work with and the necessary power to implement his vision.

If the board was serious they would poach Steward Webber from Norwich in the midst of this Ole shit show. Get him to build up a good recruitment team in the remaining two months before the winter window, scout an interim manager and work on bringing in a long term manager for the summer who has proven to play a style acceptable to the fans.

Really hard to disagree with all you've just mentioned.

People saying it's luck when you get the correct manager is just ABSURD!

We should have got one of Pep, Klopp or Pochettino. It was purely bad planning and no foresight from Ed and his none football team, to never have got one of these top coaches in. Plan the work, work the plan. Fail to plan, plan to fail. Simple.

We literally don't. He has failed to progress us, to our true potential. By all accounts, our sponsorship revenue is no longer class leading. Our on field performances have now begin to make in impact on this.

Exactly.

Edit: And you just know if things carry on like this, City or Liverpool will get "lucky" again and appoint the right manager while we go round in circles. In a few years Klopp and Pep will be past it, such is the nature of football, but I'll bet any money City & pool end up with the next super manager (whoever that turns out to be) or really good up and coming manager, before we do.

When the going gets tough, it’s one of those “it’s business, it’s not personal” situation. I don’t think those two come as a package in all situations.

Yea, agree. But with these guys, I just feel that Ed runs Manchester United for Glazer's as effectively as he does. If Ed goes, then no one will make the money for the Glazer's like he does.

yep. That’s why I think when we keep sliding down the table, eventually it will affect the business. That’s when Glazers will have to make a decision on whether to do something on the footballing side.

I believe a much higher proportion of our income is TV rights and sponsorship than matchday fan revenue. So the reality is even worse, they probably don't even care that much about season ticket sales. Their only care would be that it looks bad to sponsors and on TV.

Question for you. If the glazers fecked off and united got an owner or ownership model more to your liking, would you come back into the fold or would you say you are an FCUM fan now?

Try to get sponsors with a team in a relegation battle Woodward. Next shirt sponsor will be a an online betting site.

I can’t defend anyone at the club at the moment, the board, the owners, the coaching staff, the players. All are completely inadequate at their job title

Old Trafford fans won't raise a peep about Woodward or the Glazers but will destroy the likes of Fellaini who only ever gave their all for the shirt.

You reap what you sow. United fans are the worst in the league.

This.

Could we find enough support for a fan embargo of the Liverpool game? The only way that this will EVER change is when the ATM stops shitting out money to the Glazers.

Fair point.

How is Woodward still in a job? Failure after failure.

The Glazers facilitating our decline from top to bottom.

Where is that we spent money thread and that lunatic who acts like PR for Glazers and EW, best part he aint alone.

Its all good, just keep bending customers, corporations loves those.

Ridiculous that Woodward has faced zero consequences for the football side of the club imploding under his reign. Not even a restructuring to distance him from football decisions.

Empty stand against Liverpool should happen. Won't though. We will keep fuel on eds yacht and be good consumers.

A deluded fan base that thinks cheering louder for mediocrity makes a 'top fan'

The man should be driven from the club.

Long past time for fans to vote with their feet.Stop attending matches.

Another Glazer/Woodward spectacular experiment.

They sure know how to run sports teams.

I am convinced now that they will eventually get us relegated. You'd think it's impossible but not for these viruses.
