Glazers / Woodward out! (One down)

The end game for the Glazers and the other American owners was always a Super League and or selling tv rights. Said before the Glazers are too greedy to sell until they are satisfied there’s no chance of one or both of these.

If they feel this is off the table for good then they’ll be more open to selling but it’d still take silly money and won’t happen anytime soon.

One thing that I have found quite interesting, which hasn't really been picked up by the media in all of the craziness of the last few days, is the prominence of Joel Glazer in all of this.

It is Joel who will be serving as Vice President of the Super League, Joel whose statement was included in the Super League press release, and, taking a wider view, we've seen Avi Glazer (United's co-Chairman with Joel) sell £70m shares in United and the club appoint a director of football for the first time.

What does this all point to? Well, there have been murmurings about a potential Woodward departure for a while now (and he put his house in Cheshire up for Sale in September) - I am wondering if that might be about to come to fruition, with Joel Glazer taking a much more active (and public) role at the club than any of the Glazers have previously done.
No. I'm saying I reckon Ed is off (voluntarily), soon.

:smirk:

They won’t sell up for ages - finding somebody who will put that much money into it will take a while.

Not a popular opinion but I sort of hope the Saudi’s come in strong for us now!

I’ve always been more open to this than many, chiefly because they are the only owners that will run the club without trying to gain a return.

This is what clubs like City, Chelsea, PSG, Madrid, Barca all have, if we had that ability we would be unstoppable and unlock our true potential.

Im braced for shite to be thrown at me, do your worst :D

Stock 4% down in the last hour, 7% down today. This is the only thing that matters for the Glazers.

Come on EPL, do the right thing, and dock 30 points from all teams. That would mean no UCL for us next season, so the stock goes even further down. That is the only thing the Glazers care about.

Not just Joel:

Joel Glazer – Executive Co-Chairman and Director

Edward Woodward – Executive Vice Chairman and Director

Richard Arnold – Group Managing Director and Director

Cliff Baty – Chief Financial Officer

Kevin Glazer – Director

Bryan Glazer – Director

Darcie Glazer Kassewitz – Director

Edward Glazer – Director

Robert Leitão – Independent Director

Man Utd Sawhney – Independent Director

John Hooks – Independent Director

Did this website just correct Man Utd 's name?

EDIT: MAN-U -- yes it did!

I genuinely think the Glazers could be on their way out. This will have been a big part of their mid/long term business model.
From a business perspective it's a huge blow to them. It's whether they think they can survive the shit storm, is it worth the huge dividends they take out of our club?

I think it's crucial that bodies such as the Government need to keep the pressure on, if they make progress with this German model then the Glazers will be off for sure.

As if that tosser Stan Collyflower has a clue

The dividents are not that huge to be fair, only circa 20m per year, which is less than 1% of the club's market cap. The dividends were never the end goal, so they were not very important.

ESL with massive TV rights might have been the end goal. Now that is not happening, they might be tempted to sell. Especially, if we get heavily penalized (either by the league with points docked which means no UCL next season so less money, or financial penalties by JPMorgan for breaching the deal), the stock might start going south. And so, they will need to sell. Bear in mind, the projected incomes are expected to get seriously hit, so the stock was going to go down anyway. This can just increase the speed of it, and they might realize that this is the best they can ever get.

Or at least, I hope so.

I'd take anyone over the glazers. They don't deserve us one bit
We have to be careful what we wish for. I hate them every bit as much as the next fan, however whoever owns us next will likely want a huge return on their investment.

Unless, as per my last post, somebody like the Saudi’s come in for us.

What would it cost to buy United IF the Glazers sold now? Who could actually afford to buy the club outright following the repercussions of the virus?

Surely only Oil money could afford it?

I don't think they're selling, the only possible way is if they see a long term HUGE reputation hit that prevents us making them money

You get plenty of fans who will be happy to turn the other cheek, give them a chance as long as they don't mess things up too much etc but now even those will be happy to throw them out on the street. If they were hated by most before I don't know if there will even be a word for it now.

i’m on the fence about saudi ownership - they would throw money at us. Much as i hate man city - if you cant beat them join them. Do have a lot of dislike for the human rights abuses of the saudis and the way they run their society though

If we get taken over by the Saudis I’m done with football, I honestly don’t think I can think of anything worse.

But the glazers are real estate folks. They have been taken a beating over the years especially their malls.

about 3.2bn i believe. You have to buy out the owners and square the debts they secured against the club

why may i ask? State funded football or Saudi Arabias human rights records etc etc or both or other stuff?

If one clubs going to have the immediate sell by its owners, surely it’d be the one where the owner put his name down as a vice chairman for the idea, as well as stories about squad meetings and confrontations and the esteemed ex manager who never speaks to the press released something about it.

Have Spurs or Arsenal even said anything aside from the preprepared press release on Sunday night?

I highly doubt the debt would be squared. It would get carried over.

Possibly. But if they have the money they may want to just square it to avoid the colossal interest. Glazers couldnt afford to buy us in the first place fecking parasites. Over a billion quid has left this club during their ownership servicing the debts they put on us in their leveraged buyout

Listen nobody would be 100% comfortable with them due to the human rights issues.

My thoughts on this has been that any stronger ties to western society only serves to shine a light on them even more and in turn you expect that to only limit their inclination for further atrocities, it certainly wouldn’t make it worse.

To wag the finger at them from thousands of miles away and distance ourselves from them does no good either.
