Music Glastonbury 2024

Anyone watched Heilung? First I've heard of them.

From Wiki: Heilung is an experimental folk music band made up of members from Denmark, Norway, and Germany. Their music is based on texts and runic inscriptions from Germanic peoples of the Iron Age, and Viking Age. Heilung describe their music as "amplified history from early medieval northern Europe"

It's brilliant, watch it.

Why thank you.

I saw them starting out back in early 2018 in a tiny pub in south east London, with Sports Team and a little known band called Fontaines DC. Good times.

But yeah Squid have got better and better, experimental stuff and a drumming vocalist is always a good novelty.

Nice, them and Fontaines together would be a great night.

Yeah there’s no way she’s singing live here.

Loads seem to half mime these days where they sing over their own backtrack on the chorus. At least that what it sounds like unless it's just production.

The audio just doesn’t match with the video I don’t think. Just been at a pretty consistent level throughout whatever she has been doing on stage and seems a bit obvious.

My father was a toolmaker five days a week. Idles missed a trick not doing a Starmer special.

Almost four albums in and we're all killer no filler with this set, absolutely brilliant.

Dua was a bit disappointing. A bit flat. Everything was a bit same and bland. Too focused on dancing.

Fecking great set from the Dublin lads, they should have been on the Pyramid Stage imo.

Well, from someone who thought this was going to be a bit of a shite lineup this year, Friday night had some really great sets, from the ones I've seen,

Squid
Heilung
Idles
Fontaines DC

Were all top tier with great energy, going to see if there's any others I've missed tomorrow from today.

On a side note, the young lad, Flint, who ended up on the stage with Idles was great, that's a moment he'll never forget.

I think I agree

im a sucker for pop music and knew basically 80% of all her songs she played via radio music, but I think her stuff is pretty good. I like it….but tonight for me never felt light it got going. Not sure why

Flynn, no? So sweet when he thanked his dad. Bless him.

Just catching up on some acts, Confidence Man were great. One of the best performances so far.
