Music Glastonbury 2023

Fred again. That is all.
He's a magician, just a pure musical genius. Top 5 performance at a festival ever last year that I watched live.

So bummed I can't see him at Werchter next week.

Rick Astley best act
If you’d have asked me 30 odd years ago if I’d ever sit and enjoy a Rick Astley set I’d have laughed! He certainly managed to hit the button for the retro cheese of the evening. Really enjoyed it, he was good.

Yeah, probably .
But if she can't make it on time to her set, she gets cut.
This sort of thing would wind me up had I been there wanting to see her, yeah it's a cool moment people singing her sing, but this only happened due to her being late, she only played half hour or so I think.

The best singalong was after Macca last year. Now that really was over 100k singing.
Agreed, it's a bit of a dick move to try and make the festival folks look like the party poopers when she was the one unprofessional enough to turn up late to her set.

Only just now catching up with Foo Fighters on Iplayer. Not the biggest fan of them really, but they are very good here. Also helps that every time you see them live them seem like they fecking love it. So much energy and passion.

Also, that drummer is excellent.

New to me, Nova Twins over on the Other stage, heavy.

Billy Idol clearly reading the lyrics for Pistols songs is amusing ... although he is getting on, so good for him.

Really enjoyed it , a bit rough in places but great to see Cook, Jones, Idol and James having a blast. My Way was ace at the end.

I'm currently enjoying some Jockstrap action. Never thought I'd admit that to the world.

Rick Astley's two sets have been class. Did not think I'd be saying that at the start of Friday. The chat in here about Fred again is ridiculously wide of the mark too but enough has been said about that.

No sympathy for LDR. She is a massive diva. Her being late was definitely pettiness in response to her initial dissatisfaction with the poster revealing the lineup and her not being on the top line. Good on Glasto for cutting her off on time - it was entirely self-inflicted.

The Blossoms and Rick Astley playing the Smiths was quality. Id go see that tour! And I’ve just learnt that Debbie Harry is 77!

Can't beat a bit of Blondie. Picture This is my fave.

Absolutely loved Cat Stevens - one of the first artists my dad ever made me like.

Father & Son was magic.

Never even heard of them but The Hu on West Holts stage were great. Most responsive crowd I've seen I reckon.

She does Heart of Glass a lot better than most of her songs. Enjoying this one.
My favouritest song in the whole world and what got me into music in the first place! The first song I kept rewinding and playing on my tape recorder as a young kid. Perfect pop song.

Always a good show.

Was that on iplayer? I watched her highlights on bbc 1 and 2 but neither played heart of glass

Editor's currently on John Peel stage, absolutely amazing band.
