How hard will it be to get in without tickets?

I know it used to be possible to jump the fence, but is that still the case?

when i last went, there were about 100,000 official tickets and about 50k freeloaders - either jumping the fence or getting a dodgy entry stamp.

but i think they have pretty much sorted all that with a mega fence etc

This is the first time i have not been since 2002. I gave my ticket to my mate as i has a something i couldn’t get out of at work on friday. May have gone on Friday evening, but i have just sold my car. My missus and most of my mates are there too. My mate took my ticket and got in with it, even though he looks nothing like me.

I didnt think i would mind missing out, but i really wish i was there now.

Been watching loads of it on TV - im surprised how much they show.

Wish i had seen Neil Young, he looked great on TV. Looking forward to seeing The Boss.

Luckily, im seeing Blur at Hyde Park, but it wont be as good as at Glasto.

No chance you can get in without a ticket now.

You would need to parachute in. The fence is huge.

I never went been to Glasto pre-fence, but people i know that went in 2000 said it was just too busy.

I used to sell blims of the back of a horse, allegedly, from '87 when it was all fields.. It all turned to sh1t in the early 90's though with the big fences, and security monkeys larging it everywhere.

ye it was too busy in those days - all got a bit out of hand - so something had to be done

I prefer much smaller festivals nowadays

Watched a bit on BBC3 earlier.

They've put Ihni binni dimi diniwiny anitaime in charge of the coverage again. You don't cut Bloc Party off after four songs in order to show the Doves and chat to some bloke from The Streets.

feck off BBC

Well, in a way you're right noods, but at least they realised their mistake and did cut Bloc Party off. Some broadcasters might have shown the whole set and refused to admit they'd fecked up by putting them on in the first place.

I've been watching as much as this years festival as I can. Some of its been brilliant, CSN, Fleet Foxes (Superb), Neil Young was immense and I hear Springsteen did a two and a half hour show last night, if true - wow - can't wait to see some of it later today.

However I find alot of these bands, The View, The Maccabees, The What-fecking-evers so annoying because:
A.) They all play the same shitty barcodes over-and-over again.
B.) The lead singers can't seem to grasp singing.

I seen one cnut from Pendulum yesterday using a fecking guitar-hero-esque guitar on stage, I nearly spewed my guts up. Stills and Young, real guitarists must be thinking - what the feck is that scrotum doing. Too many generic, bullshit bands that are taking music nowhere at the moment. And too those who watched whoever else was headlining instead of Neil Young on the friday night, then Wow. Thats quite fecking ignorant.

im just watching springsteen from last night, it's fecking awesome. he went 30 minutes over curfew

Specials, Pete Doherty, Gaslight Anthem, Dizze Rascal, and Kasabian have all been class from what i've managed to catch.

Madness, Nick Cave, then Blur tonight...

Looking forward to that

It was indeed. I loved yesterday, I enjoyed everything, from gaslight anthem to hockey to pendulum to kasabian to the greatest show I've ever seen. Bruce *bows*

I just think it reinforces my belief that there is no better music than live music.

Check out the Gaslight Anthem when The Boss came on, the pop from the crowd was immense!

10 minutes into this or just select the Gaslight Anthem and Bruce Springsteen video ;)

Who are these presenters on BBC2?

They really annoy me. You're not funny, so stop trying to be, you gimps. Just shut the feck up and get on with the music.

Watching Springsteen from last night now...Never been a fan, but the man is working the crowd like a pro...Top man. Thats how you do it, feck Bloc Party, Kasabian and all that...this was a proper performance, and I mean proper! Most of the crowd don't know a lot of the songs and most of them certainly aint to my taste, but the way he worked it, went into the crowd every 5 minutes, got sing a longs going etc was epic. Just doing it properly. Getting your moneys worth stuff...Nice one sunshine!

any Michael Jackson covers get played?

Rapper Dizzee Rascal has led the crowd at the Glastonbury music festival in a tribute to Michael Jackson.
"We lost a legend this week," he said. "So I think we should do a little something to remember all the great music he brought us."
Tens of thousands of fans joined in with a chorus of Thriller, and Rascal played snippets of other hits including Billie Jean and Another Part Of Me.
The star appeared on the main Pyramid Stage on the event's second day.
The news of Jackson's death in Los Angeles spread as fans were gathering for Britian's biggest music festival on Thursday.
Pharrell Williams, The Streets, Lily Allen and Gabriella Cilmi are among the other artists who have paid tribute.
Bruce Springsteen is headlining the event in Somerset on Saturday.

Watching Status Que on BBC4 and I am well impressed they move around well for a combined age of god only knows.
They sound pretty good too.
Saw the many many years ago supporting Queen at Maine Road and they were dreadful ,sound better today.
Not everybodies cup of tea , but reminds me of my younger days.

fecking hell praising Status Quo then slagging off the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.

YCNMIU :D

More Springsteen on BBC4 now, different from the stuff showed last night. Fantastic as usual, and a good selection to take account of the large numbers who wouldn't be familiar with his material. The guy has always put his heart and soul into every performance.

Springsteen, superb stuff really. Half of them guys on the stage are pushing 60 and the other half are already well into their 60's.

Great stuff.

I actually like The Maccabees, yet they cant be compared to Neil Yong and The Boss. They wont be going in 20+ years time. And they aint the only ones that play 3 chords – The Quo and Oasis have made careers out of it.

Pendulum - what the feck are they all about? I like dance music, but that was a fecking racket. They were like that euro dance band from the 90s, Scooter. Australians doing Dance music - Awful.
