Just booked tickets in the pre-sale. Will save the hassle of stressing about it in April...

Anyone else on here going?

So you are spending all that money without even knowing the lineup?

feck that, if it's as good as this years no wonder they are selling the tickets now.

Obviously you've never been then judging from that fact you comment on the lineup

I couldnt really give a shit who the headliners are, and for 5 day festival its more than value for money.

You're spot on here. Don't listen to Nome, he's just bitter that he didn't get to go last year. I did and it was brilliant. Glastonbury is Glastonbury, but next year I wanna go somewhere abroad. Can't really afford to do both.

I'd recommend bennicasim. Immense.

No I have never been to Glasto, I'd rather not bend over and get arse invaded by Eavis and his corporate buddies thankyou. Give me a small, intimate festival any day, but what the feck would I know. You carry on making Eavis rich.

Oh and I would say, seeing as Glasto is a music festival, that the lineup is quite important, as a music fan anyway

Oh and shut up Ceks.

'Contemporary Performing Arts Festival' the last time I checked.

But I guess if you've never been, you'll never know, Nome.

Watch out for that flush tonight.

Mate, they sold out to the corporations years ago, but whatever floats your boat.

Ah, selective quoting, another fine promotion.

Maybe you could address the rest of my post?

I was selecting the relevant parts of the post..

i.e. the fact that you have never been is why you think it’s a music festival and that the line up is important to making a decision on whether to go.

The middle part where you have a little rant about Eavis. Eavis regularly makes a LOSS on the festival. As far as I’m concerned its value for money. Unlike the “music festivals” like V and Leeds/Reading etc. were when you get in there you're drained of cash from start to end.

You can quite easily do glasto on the ticket price alone.

I went to glasto once - 1999 i think - it was good but i wouldnt bother going again as there were far too many twats there (although these were the days that you could pay some dodgy geezer for a copy of the entry stamp or bring a ladder and jump the wall)

i prefer smaller festivals - Big Chill is probably my favorite festival

The line up is never announced when tickets go on sale. I have been for the last three years and have already bought my ticket for '09. Most people go to Glastonbury for the atmosphere more than the music but the music is always good and given them not selling out this year, Emily Eavis will be working harder than ever to get the best bands on

Glastonbury is the least corporate festival I've been to and is the best value for money. You can take your own food and drinks with you into the event and so dont have to be stung by the £6 burger or £4 flat stale beer like you do at V or Leeds.

I'd agree with busby regarding Beni - one of the best abroad festies

Well said

Yeah we all booked our pre-sale tickets yesterday. I promised myself I wouldn't go this time because I overdid it on the drugs last year I ended up having a psychotic delusion! I thought was a serial killer and had to go to the medical tent haha. I couldn't say no in the end though it's fecking brilliant festival I wouldn't go to any other one in the UK I think.

£3.30!

But other than that fair enough.

Everyone get a ticket before the deadline then? I paid of the rest of mine, I'm horrifically skint for the rest of the month now though!

Less than a week away and I'm all excited.

Blur or Prodigy?

That should spark a hilarious debate...

175 squid and you won't see the Pixies nor Black Uhuru. Rip off.

Verging on the hysterical now! Can't leave work until Fri morning (bums). I like Blur, but its got to be Prodigy.

Blur all the way for me!

Never been Glastonbury, definately doing it some day. Has anyone here ever been to Wakestock?

Nice little festival in Abersoch, not the biggest acts but it has a nice cosy feeling about it. Went last year and going again this year 10th July.

I have been once before - two years ago in the crazy mud. It was fantastic. I have promised myself that I am going to grow old disgracefully and go to some more of these things! A lot of people I know have done IOW and think it's great. I'm so ignorant, I haven't even heard of Wakestock.

cant wait now! I still cant decide on Blur versus Prodigy. Prodigy will be epic but Blur will be historic!

Is anyone else going there without a parking ticket? The stopped selling presale ones a while ago, but seetickets say that you can just pay on the door. I have a horrible vision of getting there and being told to feck off cause I don't have a sticker on my front window

Not sure as we are pre-booked. But there is a very nice email address that answers questions such as this: glastinfo@aol.com
Infoman gave me a reply within 24 hrs on the shuttle bus that I was confused about. Such confusion is clearly not a good sign - given that I am not currently suffering from alcohol poisoning or sleep deprivation. I will be soon though - bring it on

Very envious of you guys with tickets, especially as Bruce Springsteen and Neil Young are appearing this year. Both brilliant.

I'll be setting off at 2.30am tomorrow to get there for 8am...then to GET ON IT!

Shed loads of eork to do today but impossible to focus!!!

Thanks a lot for that, I have given them a shout. I am so fecking excited. Nick fecking Cave!

How hard will it be to get in without tickets?

I know it used to be possible to jump the fence, but is that still the case?
