Gill Expects Busy Summer

Lots of players are leaving though:-

VDS
Kusczak
Brown (possibly)
Neville
Scholes
Hargreaves (probably)
Owen (possibly)
Berbatov (possibly)

that's 6 or 7 players possibly. So we're rebuilding.

I have no idea what they're thinking will be.

On Caf our thinking is that we have to play the Barcelona way in midfield i.e. the Arsenal way. Arsenal have had some great success with that and Nasri/Wilshire/Fabregas quality is hard to argue with.

Where Arsenal have fallen down is their ability to actually win. However, It is diffiuclt not to say that with Messi in their side they wouldn't have won the league!

It won't be much different, if at all, this summer, but there's a greater requirement to spend now. But even so it is obscene how people bash Fergie around the head and mock him for the 'value' thing, as he was entirely correct.

I never said that fergie was not right re: 'no value in the market'. I simply stated the two options, though i think that this year we ll see two or three signings for sure.

Players definitely leaving:
Van Der Sar
Neville
Scholes
Hargreaves

Players strong possibility leaving:
Owen
Brown
Macheda
Obertan

That is at least 4 players gone with the possibility of another 4, maybe more.

We need to rebuild, a blend of youth and current potential is whats needed i feel. 5 players are needed.

A creative CENTRE midfielder, possibilites?
Modric, Banega, Adam, De rossi, schweinsteiger. My choice - Modric - proven.

A forward/winger who can play in a variety of positions, possibilites?
Young, Hazard, Sanchez, Douglas Costa, Bale. My choice - Sanchez - young, skills, potential, match winner.

A goalkeeper (priority) De gea looks set so I will save my Muppetry.

After these 3 i would call for a couple of players for the future, under 20 and with bags of potential, another winger and a centre midfielder for me.

I dont think we will sign Sneijder because I have rarely seen him play in a midfield two, he has a specific role in a side and im not sure we could accommodate him and rooney as often as we would like in our favoured 442.

Sanchez AND Modric??? would be wonderful...dont think it will happen though.

I think there will be one 'big money' signing and those two would cost plenty each.
