Giggs trial

Is it just me or did older football legends (think Busby babes) never get entangled in similar stories ? Only George Best was somewhat wayward but even he was almost decent compared to some modern-day footballers.

The ego required to make it in top-flight football today, and decoupling from reality induced by astronomical wages, seems to be the undoing of many a player.

You're a gloriously naive character you are

What’s this got to do with football? Sick and tired of people holding uneducated poorly raised people (in this instance footballers) to the highest moral code. No footballer should be looked at as a role model. They are no more than entertainers like a clown in a circus but much better paid.
Jesus, what an atrociously classist thing to say.

Shouldn't this thread title be ''Former Manchester City School of Excellence player Charged'':smirk:

You can't be a good manager for a big club with his character issues. Never will be manager here.

What utter trash.

Shows no understating of either person
George Best beat his wife. My post was poor taste banter but facts are facts. Love Bestie as a player but he wasn't a great human being.

There was even that recently passed away American basketball player that was charged with rape and paid his victim an out of court settlement that was lauded as a great human being, baffling stuff.

Our academy is finally producing a good human being though in Rashford. Greenwood is still high doubts? Mctominay seems like a good person too, but who knows.

How the feck was he poorly raised?

Quality control
would the women in question be surprised that Giggs has assaulted her?, or has it come out the blue?
I mean she would have known his past record as to family relations, so is this just a row and she has ulterior motives?

Just goes to show being a great player and equally great person are two entirely different things. Giggs is probably greatest United player, but in private life a despicable person.

People slate Pogba for his lack of effort on the field and his agent's antics off it, I am one of his biggest critics here but other than that despite being an extremely marketable footballer he leads an exemplary, non controversial private life.

Rashford may well be a greets human. However don’t be blinded by celebrities charity work. Sometimes it’s to increase their brand/profile and used to hide their shocking personal life behaviour. Not saying this is Rashford but I stay away from idolising any celebrity/public figure.

Well if she has moved out there is room for him to move Johnny Depp in.

Innocent until proven guilty I guess. Since we live in an era where most people are considered guilty by default, the accusation alone is enough to ruin his career.

With that said, I wouldn't be surprised if it's true since it's coming from a guy that was banging his brother's wife for like 8 years. It's obvious that his moral code is non-existent.
I'm not a psychiatrist but I'm pretty sure the guy fits the profile of a sociopath (assuming that most things he is/was accused are true).

I have just seen a picture of what is alleged to be the girls injuries.

Giggs is really in trouble

The picture I’ve seen doing the rounds on Twitter in relation to this story, is definitely not her. You can do a reverse image search to see it’s from a different story a couple of years ago.

The reports all said that whatever went on she had minor injuries, which didn't require treatment.

Yeah, see what you mean!

Probably should have added 'if true' on to the end of my last sentence.

I must admit that when I saw the alleged injuries, I was shocked that he walked away from the station on bail and wasn't charged straight away

Giggsy getting out of international duty just like the old day's

Could Giggs just be an all-round nutter simply hidden behind a rather calm exterior?

The fact Wales have essentially suspended him indicates to me that he has a lot to answer for. This is an extremely unusual step from the Welsh FA, or any FA for that matter.

The one on Twitter? If so I think that's someone else

I don’t know where it was from. I got sent it on WhatsApp. The one I was sent has Definitely been confirmed as someone else.

Melissa Gretz, I believe

The Welsh FA don’t really have a choice. It’s a good decision by them IMO. It is unusual but it certainly shouldn’t be.

Or they believe it will all blow over by the time this international break ends.

If they are privy to the seriousness as you suggest, he should just been dismissed immediately. The FAW have nothing to gain by only stopping his involvement for 3 games if he's guilty and they know it.

That Could be completely irrelevant though and might actually cause huge problems for Giggs.

Being proven guilty and knowing someone has done something, are two very different things. Very different thing that could result in very different options for the Welsh FA.

Dismissing him immediately before the completion of any investigation would be mental

I would imagine the FAW will be covering their arses to any kind of action from him they are always skint and pinching pennies.

The worst punishment is not to be in jail. But to be forced to watch and hear his own final team meeting as United manager on repeat nonstop.
