I sense that all fans across all clubs are growing increasingly frustrated about the lack of consistency in this VAR madness
The FA needs to have weekly reviews of all controversial VAR decisions and clarify why the decisions were made. The NFL is brilliant at this and there's rarelt any doubt of why a decision was made
In the PL the line seeks to vary from week to week or even game to game. No consistency, no clear line and no damn logic is present in any way at all.
 
VAR is a fecking joke, I can't believe they didn't think that wasn't a sending off, Romeu almost broke Greenwood's ankle.
 
Easy way to fix VAR is simply use it correctly. They review and advise ref if there is something to look at. On field ref makes the call simples.

All this nonsense of not wanting to overturn refs decision is a joke.

Its just making the whole of English football look inept

The clear and obvious error bit hasn't exactly worked well in England.

It's a combination of issues, the refs are a bit shit and going against another ref is a bit like wanking in front of your nan, you¨ll do it but only if it's an emergency.

Mike Riley has made a mess of things, especially the pitchside monitors. They'll happily spend 5-6mins drawing up lines to see if the tip of a players knob is an inch offside or not, but allowing the ref 2 mins to jog to a monitor on the side to review a situation is considered too time consuming and ruins the flow of the game.

Yeah they should have told him to go and have a look at the screen but didn't think it was worthy for some daft reason

I'm fairly sure I'm wrong on this but there is the faintest idea of a slip or double movement on the Romeu red.

It's a very good example of how VAR ref doesn't want to overrule Ref #1.

To which the obvious answer is the pitch side monitor but that has problems for authority and player behaviour I think they would say.

I'd focus that by asking what is VAR saying when he sends Ref#1 to the screen. They're obvs very keen to avoid this anyway.

Except when they said they would but still carried on not doing wasn't it?
 
Didn't want to start a new thread but is Walker-Peters handball not a red card offence? Surely it was an intentional handball to stop a goal scoring opportunity. I thought that was a part of the rules, like the last man tackle?
 
That was an incredible decision there for the foul on Jesus.

It even looked nailed-on in real time, never mind in any of the five angles they showed afterwards.

Shambles.

That's a palace penalty for me. Don't know if the VAR bottled it as it would have cancelled out our goal or if he just doesn't know what he's doing.

We're so lucky with VAR. :lol:
 
Looked like a penalty to me yeah. Hard to justify VAR (seemingly) not even having a look. We've definitely not been unlucky with VAR in general. The only good thing I can say about it.

I think that scenario has happened before. If it is a penalty they chalk off the goal scored and bring it back for the pen.

I don't think you can tell what's happening. You're just assuming there's a trip somewhere - presumably just before he falls over.

What actually happens - not a clue.

Also the 2nd angle looks totally different.
 
It's getting boring now, every week they miss blatant fouls. Incompetence or corruption, i don't think i even care anymore. They should all be fired on the spot but we all know it's not happening. The league is going to be about how much a gap can you create before the referees feck you over.

Anyways, the rules are the rules and they are the same for everyone.

:lol: it's good for us but it's shit that the only use of VAR is to be a complete killjoy, taking away goals for such pedantic reasons.
 
The cartoon villain in me enjoys the transition from elation to disbelief to anger to sadness in players who have these goals dissallowed over their shoesize. (Pep in the CL last year was fecking brilliant)

If I were President of my country I would probably invade the country the VAR's from if it went against my club though.

No-ones denying that. It's the rules, and the fact that VAR enables them to be enforced in almost childishly pedantic ways, that's being criticized.

Yup, referees have been fecking them up for years. This one was right though.

I wonder how hard it is to automate the entire thing though. Offside calls are almost impossible to refs, especially if the pass is coming from 30 yards away
