German Football 21/22 | Gladbach sign Farke

Was surprised today to read that injured and suspended players count as "available" in the covid rule of having to have less than 16 eligible players available in order for a match to be cancelled.
Strikes me as somewhat douchy.

The rule is there so that the teams cannot manipulate it...

But as it is probably "normal" to have 2 or 3 injured players they should add 2 or 3 players to the requirements!

As it is game will go on as planned even in that situation.

Interesting stat:

I guess bottom line is that you will have some correlation between impact of injuries and that table, but the fact that they calculate with squads as large as 36 players makes it kind of hard to take the chart at face value. It would be far more interesting if they tried to factor in the value a player represents to his team, even if it's just by creating a very basic variable made up of whoscored ratings and TM market value.

The squad sizes do not really relate to the squad sizes at transfermarket. (Whoscored only lists the players that had minutes what does not include players that were totally out because of injuries)

Bayern e.g. had 25 players listed on transfermarket - same as at whoscored. I actually do not know where they got the additional 2 players from...

Dortmund had 28 players getting minutes - 33 listed on transfermarket.

Our bench is something else tonight
Almost 20 years between the oldest and youngest field players with 35 and 16

Never even heard of Wanner or Copado, though I assume the latter is Brazzo's nephew?

Yes. Son of Francisco Copado who played e.g. for Haching and grandson of Anton Schrobenhauser who was goalie for Bayern II and I in the 70s.

Wanner like Ibrahimovic could still play U17 but plays U19 - that is special as they are born in December!

Don't care much about the result. I just hope the only recently returned players, like Gnabry, Süle and Kimmich, don't catch any injuries.

I'm sure in the EPL the match would have been postponed despite an even tighter schedule.

Poor goal to concede. From the defending down to the goalkeeping.

always the same with fecking Gladbach

anyway Gnabry losing loads of balls with poor touches

Didn't gladbach ship 6 goals in one half a while ago? Whats the deal with them?

Bayern just trying to make it seem that the league doesn't get fixed every single year

come at me ye german salt eaters

Does every team play with such a high line?

Is there even a burnley archetype that tries to shithouse their way in?

FC Bayern clearly exhausted and without a lot of their players, something tells me this game should have been called off. Doesn’t matter though, they’ll win the league regardless. Just put on a guy that was 15 years old a week ago…

Is Ibra guy any relation?

Yeah guessed Bayern had some sort of covid outbreak with how weak their bench is. Still 'Gladbach having their annual testimonial v them (didn't realise how low they actually are in the league).

How's this Kone fella rated? Nice couple minutes of play there.

Right back in playing more passes towards his left than his right shocker

well. even bayern cant compensate this many players

still crazy how much gladbach struggles

Oh well. Losing the Rückrunde opener to Gladbach is a Bayern classic. True to form.
