The quoted sum (£33.4m) seems very low though considering his talent and high ceiling. Would be a fantastic deal.

Let's go. I've only watched a couple of his games when Amorim was about to join us but he looked a very good prospect. And €40m is a great price too.

You'd like to think that with Amorim he would choose us over other teams - no matter where we finish this season.

Average age of the team next season is going to be very very young - hard not to be excited over some of the prospects we have!

I kinda worry it's too young. We need some experience to guide them though

We’ve really focused on buying youth, and it’s great. Hopefully means gone are the days of buying ready made slightly past it superstars for triple the cost

Would say though we do need an experienced midfielder and probably a ready made striker. We’ll see how we get on in summer
 
Brilliant news. Amad and him on the right will be a nightmare for defenders. Both constantly running at you and there's no peace off the ball too.

Now if we get Gyokeres along with him too... :devil:

Looks like it. Would be night and day difference to whatever the hell we have now, assuming we pull it off.

Average age of that team would likely be amongst the lowest in Europe too.

A few bad games and the RedCafe will turn on the youngsters telling us all how crap they all are.

However I'm very excited about some of the players we have & some of the young players we are recruiting, Our under 18s team looks bright as well, still undefeated this season. Hopefully 1 or 2 break through from there.
 
I’m not massively convinced to be honest. Am I the only one who thinks he looks like he’s never in control of the ball in those clips? It’s always sort of either stuck under his feet or kicked way out in front at an awkward angle. He’s got a few nice nutmegs sure but his highlight reel looks very clunky imo
 
So is this a guy I can genuinely get excited by or should I be concerned about the manager signing players from his old club?

He's probably the most exciting wingback prospect in Europe. If there's one player we should be looking to sign from Sporting its him, moreso than Gyokeres IMO.

The price quoted seems reasonable as well, so it wouldn't be an Antony level of fleecing.
 
I wasn't too hyped about Dorgu but this guy looks like the real deal, especially from an attacking sense. Very exciting if we pull it off.
 
He looks just about tailor-made for what we want at RWB when in possession, and obviously knows exactly what Amorim's expectations will be. The main question is how is he defensively? The wingbacks don't need to be as good defensively as a normal fullback, but they still do need to be good enough. And that 'good enough' level will need to be higher in the PL where we won't be as dominant over 90% of our opposition as what Sporting are in Portugal.

Hard not to get excited about a right side of Quenda and Amad.
 
I’m all for this! He looks a special talent based on the clips I’ve seen. That fee looks shockingly low. Please let this happen.

No, Yoro will be in the side, we'll also likely sign another CB and most definitely, the midfield will be different

I think to avoid the mistakes if the last Amorim should be made work with hojlund and shouldn't be allowed sign players from his former club.

Why do we suddenly think hojlund is hopeless?

What are we trying to chase in the short term? The manager has the team playing very very poorly so far. He has so much to prove before we ditch our current 70m strikers and sign players 'he knows'.
 
I’d take Quenda all day long over any RWB in the world. Dream signing. Young exciting talent who knows Ruben’s system and also, we have a very good track record with Sporting for Portuguese lads, haven’t we? Dare I say it, they’ve all done alright here… Get him signed!
 
He's a very exciting young prospect and there's never a guarantee they'll fulfil their potential. But I'm fully on board with this potential deal if it materializes. I'm also a firm believer that we should take full advantage of a head coach's previous links with players if possible.

From SCP the two players I really want us to sign are Quenda and Diomande. Both players have the potential to make the system fluid imo.
 
This is the one I’m most excited about. Young, direct, skillful. Make is fun to watch again.
 
Dorgu and Quenda would transform us as wingbacks 100% hoping this happens
