Geovany Quenda | Sporting CP player

He’d be great. Him and Gyokeres would be amazing business.

——————-Gyokeres
——-Garnacho ———Amad
Dorgu —————————— Quenda
—————-Bruno - Ugarte
Martinez - De Ligt - Mazraoui
———————Onana

Really like this team.

Yoro rotating in with Mazraoui.

Could be doing with an upgraded goalkeeper but that’ll have to wait.

I've learnt in life that what's on paper isn't always what we think it is.

I still believe we need to upgrade on Garnacho and that Kobbie deserves a sustained run there. Personalty also feel we need to buy another midfielder who can dictate play.

Tasty!

But i fear ojogo is not super reliable.. @Sly ?
Usually more reliable regarding Fc Porto stuff. Record is more reliable regarding Sporting stuff. They got some insiders at the club.

Well it feels like one of those obvious ones anyway, "Ruben is interested in a huge talent from his former club"

He looks pretty special on the ball based on the clips. Is he really a natural RWB as in his engine is good and he decent defensively? As his passing, quality on the ball and acceleration would be great to have on the right.

Wishing that to happen yes. Big step in the right direction I am convinced

that move most certainly won't happen this window...it'll likely take place in the summer IF and a big IF we have the money after needing to purchase a CF along with a CM and #10

Newspaper A Bola says it's a done deal, Quenda joins Man Utd at the end of the season, for 60M€.

Is a bola reputable? There was a similar sounding outlet that was a gossip one

@Sly Are A Bola reputable ? Not surprised about our interest as he is young and talented. But I doubt we have anything agreed for now.

Hit and miss. They are usually a more Benfica oriented newspaper but they get some Sporting scoop right from time to time. As I've said previously in the past, I think Quenda will be the only player Amorim gets from Sporting. Amorim gave Quenda his first chance, he always praised Quenda for his ability and predicted he would become a top player in the future. Also fits like a glove in his tactical setup.

When he said he wouldn't get any Sporting player in January, I think he had Quenda in mind. He's only 17, he understood it would be beneficial for Quenda to finish the season with us, in a more controlled environment, less pressure, gaining experience and playing time while he lays the groundwork for future incorporation. United will need to move quickly as I predict Quenda will have plenty of suitors being our most exciting prospect since Ronaldo.

No Gyökeres? :(
Probably not because I don't think United can afford both and between Quenda and Gyökeres, the first one is the rational pick. Younger, fits the tactical system better, potencial to improve even more and connection with Amorim. I think Gyökeres will probably end up at Chelsea, Arsenal or Bayern.

If we don't buy him, can you please just keep him? Thanks!

Quenda and Amad right hand side would be tasty. Could probably play it in about 50-60% of matches and the harder games start more conventionally with Dalot at RWB.

I'd keep both

Seriously now, I think next year it will be max clear out and rebuild year for us. Specially with our new manager who is slowly cutting from Amorim influence and identity. We now play in a completely different tactical setup and he will probably want new players for that.

Gyökeres, Quenda, Diomande, Inácio and possibly Hjulmand will all move. Some only stayed because they were swayed by Amorim, others are promised an exit at the end of the season and finally there are players that already reached their full potential at Sporting and the portuguese league and will move on to bigger challenges and higher profile leagues.

I'm surprised there are no rumors regarding Hjulmand. After a very strong first year, he has been probably our player of the year this season. He's my favorite player by far and it's unsurprising he's already captain in only his second year. An incredible professional player, always fit, tireless, great mentality and technical ability. An asset for any squad and dressing room. He's my the first player on any starting eleven.

We will be minted and will be tough to negotiate. Let's see if Hugo Viana tries to take someone to Citeh. United should be aware of that.

With regards to Quenda, I've felt that it might be dependent on how we see Amad. Perhaps we view Amad as our wing-back and in turn, decide to move for Gyökeres over Quenda. Will be interesting to see what happens.

Rumours that we've agreed a deal for the summer wide of the mark?

Any sporting fans have anymore info?

I’m 100% convinced Quenda is a generational talent. Unbelievable physical qualities and tremendous tactical awareness at 17 years old.

Surprised they wouldn’t insist on the release clause. However, he’s only contracted til 2027 so maybe they are wanting a deal to be done this Summer rather than having a weak bargaining position the year after.

Supposed to be a super talent.

The Ornstein has spoken. He's not saying much - that the club is looking into it - but he doesn’t just copy other peoples tweets. Someone close to the situation will have corroborated it.

Really against the idea. Spending a huge chunk of our limited budget on a former player of the manager who is probably one for the future.

Our big scouting network and for some reason the best winger and striker they can identify are former players of the manager. It isn't credible. Build the squad properly and patiently and tell Amorim that he has to work with what the structure provides. Would help if they could get the structure fully set up for course.

That would be the second S-tier talent in consecutive summers… hmmm
Club has seemingly decided to follow the recent RM blueprint of signing top young talents from all over...it's worked out for them

£33.4 million isn’t really a huge chunk? And we need to upgrade RWB.

Oh, sure, just that it would actually be impressive if they pull this off. Might have to soften my stance a bit because there’s no doubting it is a strategy that could potentially reinvigorate the club if enough S-tiers are brought in.

Ornstein! Excited for this one, hope it happens. Go for Gyokeres to add to him and I'll be happy enough next summer regardless of other incomings (but also depends on sales of course. Should not be selling Garna or Kobbie).

A squad like this I think would be quite good, with just some CM depth missing:
  • Onana/altay
  • Mazraoui/Yoro
  • De Ligt/Maguire
  • Martinez/Shaw
  • Dalot/Quenda
  • Ugarte/Collyer/someone new
  • Bruno/Mainoo
  • Dorgu/Dalot/Amass
  • Amad/Mount
  • Garnacho/Mainoo
  • Gyokeres/Zirkzee
I also feel like Sporting rarely let's us down, so I'm all for raiding them...

Doing sound and agreeable business with them? Right, right?

He looks like an incredible talent. He reminds me of Saka a lot

he looks the very next best thing to Yamal
