They got rid of the homeopathy bullshit a couple of elections ago, through a vote at a party conference.
"I think that EDM [a parliamentary motion Lucas signed on the issue] has been widely misconstrued," she insists.

"That EDM wasn't saying bring about homeopathy tomorrow. It was saying let's apply an evidence base to homoeopathy as we do to other medicines so I think the Green party remains pretty open."

Widespread evidence that homoeopathy does not work, or at least is only as effective as a placebo, does not seem to have convinced either Lucas or the Greens.

"We want to see a stronger evidence base," she insists. "Many people in homeopathic professions would say that the way the evidence is being used is not fair. It is not measuring like with like.

"It is not a major part of our policy," she adds, perhaps in anticipation of the criticism.

I ask if she's ever used it herself. She pauses.

"Yes I have."

From January.

I looked for their official policy on this earlier but their website didn't seem to have much on it (I guess reaction to today's news), but it seems like this is close to their policy from what I can find.

Apparently the overwhelming mountain of evidence that it is nonsense still isn't good enough.

And that would be fine, but it goes against everything I think the Greens should be which is evidence based policy.

Nah. They've been completely taken aback by today. I got an email from them recently (couple of hours ago) telling me to watch their local election broadcast. I've heard nothing about the general election. They lack the organisation for the quick deletion you suspect.

Meh. I'd like to think the next time I post something people don't agree with, the response wouldn't be "guys google kps88, his real life identity is easy to find". It should be nothing to do with this forum.
It shouldn't. Your personal identity should always remain private.

Well i did just google his username out of curiosity and nothing really came up let alone a Wikipedia page, perhaps a mod abusing his powers looking him up with information which isn't available to normal users, which makes me uncomfortable as i thought signup info was supposed to be private.

Or maybe you suck at cyber-sleuthing? :nervous:

That would be even worse as it's a betrayal of trust.

You don't see the irony in your poor political judgement/naively following your ideals has rendered the Labour party a political insignificance?

Corbyn has destroyed the Labour party. It is his acolytes that have guaranteed Tory rule for the foreseeable future.

Keep deluding yourself that a vote for anyone else except Labour is a vote for the Tories if it makes you feel better.

I am happy to support the Lib Dems in the hope that a centrist party can become prominent in British politics again.

End of story.
You know this type of politics has been losing almost all across Europe and the queen bee of this politics just lost to a reality tv show host.
A coalition government is fine. I'm a pragmatist not an idealist. It will dilute The Tories like it did previously.
Er yeah this was clearly a waste of time.

Give Obama British citizenship and have him run. Problem solved.

Funnily enough, someone suggested the same for France. He was in French Polynesia last month, we really should have kidnapped and brought him to Versailles.

@sammsky1 I thought you might like this ;) If you still suffer from Ulcerative Colitis and want advice on remedies, let me know. It's such a debilitating illness. I had it but managed to cure myself of it years ago.

Where has the socialist left been winning?

That's what worries me the most.

As an ex mod, there is no private information that you could be referring to that could be seen by a mod or used by them to find their real identity.

Can't remember, probably on the economy as that tends to be my most important issue (environment & progression not far behind). I'll have another look at them before the polls of course.

Maybe someone more clued up should start a Greens thread :)

Standard lefty stuff, with significant focus on the environment.

There are unfortunately plenty of the charlatans you'll find on the left in the green party, but I think for the most their health policy is good. With focus on actual medical healthcare.

Not even close. You found the same information everyone else did. Welcome to my level of bullying, amirite @syrian_scholes ?

yeah i have to agree, as much as i found sammsky1 point of view on people who are less well off disturbing, misguided, pig headed, discriminative and beyond selfish, this is a thread about discussing your political point of veiw, and while i hate the point of view sammsky1 expressed he has the right to do so without people searching into his home life.

That lot can read our convo's though!

In the unlikely event they were that bored...

Scotland? I mean, a fair number of SNP voters think they're socialist left.
I'd say they're a pretty standard centre-left party with a nationalist twist. Gets exaggerated in the UK due to the dominance of England which is to the right.

Most people I know who vote SNP would call them socialist. I suspect that is true for a lot of the younger generation.

Nice of you to keep tagging me, if you feel guilty you can just stop abusing your powers and stop abusing people just because you're a mod and can get away with it, amirite?
These insinuations amount to bullying. Have a word with yourselves.
We are the ones who should have a word with ourselves? Have you no shame?

SNP are probably fairly centre-left overall. Kind of difficult to define in a sense because independence is their main objective as opposed to one set of politics, but their consistency and appeal-to-all style of government is probably as much of an appeal as their desire for massive constitutional change.

Do you have an 'image' of what their aims would be, in a post-independence position?

Whether it was right for Dwazza to search or not the real take home message is if you want anonymity on the internet then it helps to keep your alias separate from sites where you might use your real-name.

It's the wikipedia vandalism that crosses the line though :nono:

No idea, maybe it's like Scientology where I didn't pay enough to reach those echelons. Maybe @Dwazza is going to turn up outside my house smearing my reputation and discrediting me for getting out alive when I get to Canada.

Yep. It is. I already know where you're going to live when you get here. Sweet Dreams, Zarls.
