Film Gene Hackman (95), wife (63) and dog (?) found dead at home

Physically impossible for a human to morph into a dog.

All sounds very odd. Found in different rooms and had been dead for weeks. Both kind of looked like they’d fallen? Dog was found in a closet
Weeks? That's weird.

You hear about people who have no-one dying at home and no-one finding him for ages but even though he was long retired, he's a big name. You'd think they'd have regular callers.

It shouldn't be strange for a 95 year old to die but these are strange circumstances. Did his wife find him dead and commit suicide?

The caretaker saw their bodies through the window and called 911 but the door was opened. The dog being locked in the closet is so strange. Why were the other two dogs not locked in the closet? Did the dog somehow accidentally cause his death. Wife got upset and locked him in the closet then kill herself?

is it confirmed the closet was locked? It might have just crawled in there due to stress/anxiety

most likely explanation seems to be he died, she took her life, and the dog somehow didn't survive the time it took to find the bodies

He was 95. The theory that she killed herself because he died of natural causes seems not to add up to me. He was one of those names I didn't want to see (likes of Chomsky and some other actors, and people, too) come up in obit news. I knew he was very old. But 95 is about as good as it gets. Surely it cannot have been a massive surprise. If he died 15 or even 20 years ago I'd have been shocked. It was bad news, but not shocking is what I'm saying.

Guess you never know how close they were.

His daughter said even though he was 96 he was still in very good health. She also said she hasn't spoken to her father in months even though they were very close.

has anyone heard the 911 call?

Feck those operators sure do ask some dumb questions.

I did the job a few years ago

If it's the same for them as when I did it, I have sympathy for them. The reality for me was that you send out an officer as soon as it is obviously urgent. Then you get asked a load of questions from the reporting officers and you have to ask the caller, even if somebody else has already told you to ask it a minute ago or it's a ridiculous question.

Also as soon as I marked a call as urgent response, you might sometimes have 5+ different senior people within the control room listening in and adding their input too (which you can see/hear but the caller cannot). You're doing all this, while trying to help the (often frantic) caller and update the call log. It's very demanding.

Very easy to listen to the call and criticise the operator but it's not as straightforward a call as it seems to the listener.

Coppola making Godfather I, The Conversation, Godfather II and Apocalypse Now within seven years, never ceases to amaze me. There might not be a filmmaker who can rival that.
I wonder what that man thinks about some of the stuff his nephew is churning out on a regular basis.

At that age, you can go from "very good health" to pushing up daisies in a matter of minutes.

The toxicology results should help clear everything up.

The dog was found in a crate so it couldn’t get out for food or water the poor thing.

GH was found in the mudroom with his cane like he was about to go out

The wife was found somewhere else on the ground. A bottle of tablets with some spilled were found nearby

Theories
1. He died and she killed herself
2. She collapsed in a medical problem and he was trying to go for help but fell himself

I think number 2 is more logical

They don't have a phone? Why didn't he just call 911?
That poor doggo.
