Gareth Bale Transfer Speculation | Done

You mean they wouldn't qualify for the Champions League every year? That would be a disaster for Spurs.

Nope. Spurs doesn't have as a good team as Arsenal at that time, neither their revenue is as good as Arsenal. And they don't have Wenger. Champions League wouldn't be possible at all for them without any money to spend on transfers.

Yup.
He used to think that Modric won't go for less than 40 or 50m. In reality he went for 33m. Bale will go for 60m.
How dare we question the amazing Daniel Levy though, the only man in football capable of lying on the beach laughing at a £120m bid for Gareth Bale.

This is the best one yet. According to the Sun, Levy is holding out for at least £162m:

"... Real had dropped a bid of £81million on the Tottenham table only to be told it was in the bin almost as soon as it landed.
... There was no way Levy was going to settle for £81m and sources close to Bale have suggested the chairman will hold out for at least double."

Good on yer' Danny boy. Make 'em cough up £200m.
 For that price, he better shits gold.

are you fecking ignorant? depending on which system you are using 27.000 = 27,000 get an education..!

All good mathematics books are from yankees, so they're right, everybody else is wrong.

£100m + Coentrao might swing it ... provided we get all of the money and the player now, but Bale only leaves for RM next summer. Plus everyone at Marca has to be sacked and Ronaldo has to give up his shirt number for Bale.

How generous of you.

Depends really, how much is near guaranteed success in Moyes first season worth?

It depends on what we mean by "success"?

For me, retaining the prem trophy would constitute "success". But I'd even accept as a success ending up second, so long as we didn't cough up an 8 point lead with 4 matches left.

If your question is what would be Bale we worth to United, I really can't say but I'll put it this way -- if Moyes spent 60m on Bale I wouldn't be bothered in the least. The ONE doubt I have about a possible Bale acquisition that I didn't have a month ago is the existence of Wilfried Zaha. This may earn me a ban, but Zaha has looked so good in pre-seaon -- albeit against mediocre opposition -- that I'm not sure I'd bother with Bale now. Bale is of course the better player TODAY but I can truly see Zaha in about six months' time becoming a sensation at United. He doesn't have Bale's shot from distance and probably never will but the raw tools in his locker are scary. I just don't see many left backs in England being able to cope with him. We have an early season match against Chelsea and I'd really love to see get the start and see what he can do v Cole.

Spurs should bite madrids hands off if they are offered £60 million, he isn't worth more then 4£0 million, and that's taking into account the fact that all british players are overpriced by like £10 million. It would be ridiculous if Madrid offered £80 million for a player who scored 25 goals last season (good total but nothing unheard of) in a position that they are already well stocked in with players who are arguably as good as bale, or better then in the case of ozil and Ronaldo of course. Don't forget that they just bought isco as well, and he's got so much potential that it'd only be a waste and detriment to them in the future to get bale.

Didn't Roman purchase the entirety of Chelsea Football Club for 120m quid in 2003.

This is just silly money. Give me a break. There are people in dire need around the world and the economy is shit in the developed world and we're watching a billionaire wankathon with baited breath.

I give up, I hope he signs for United :wenger:

He's easily worth round 50m in today's market, regardless of his nationality. I think that he'll go for around 50-60m next summer.

I forgot about Isco.
Isco, Ronaldo, Bale, also DiMaria. Would Bale fancy that?

He is already better than Di Maria. Im guessing Ronaldo plays on the right, Bale on the left and Ozil/Isco in the CAM position. Plus Isco is still so young. He will get his chances to start. I dont think its a bad situation.

If you think Ronaldo will give up his position on the left where he scores the majority of his goals from, just so ape-boy can be accommodated, you are mistaken.

Surely, since Ronaldo plays on the left as an inverted winger/wide forward, who moves from outside to in onto his stronger foot, it would make more sense if Bale were to sign to mirror Ronaldo anyway, with a left footer on the right doing the same outside to inside thing.

I've no idea why anyone would think Ronaldo would have to move to accommodate Bale, Bale would just play where di Maria plays, because he's better than him.

Sign that monkey for 160 million

It makes no sense to me why Real would fancy adding Bale to those 3 or why Bale would fancy it either. What does make sense is adding Bale if plans are in place to offload Ronaldo, should that be desired or is necessary for whatever reason. Right now I don't see that happening, but who knows what we don't know?

Feel that Madrid could use Ronaldo more through the middle as a main striker or false 9

If Spurs got say 90 million for Bale they could more than make up for his departure with that money

They wouldn't reject a £80m bid, Glaston thinks Levy is god who will take £185m for Bale when in reality he'll probably be sold for £50m next Summer.

Glaston is Levy. Or should I say, Danny boy? I hope Bale does go, then there will be no need to talk about Spurs or mediocrity.

81m for any player, Ronaldo included is just ridiculous. All it takes is ACL damage or some other nasty injury and the team is right back we you started. I would expect two world class players for that kind of money.

You ain't reeling me in that easy! :p

Bale on the right is the best I've heard so far.
I wish the window was shut already.

From Spurs current position they could bring a very good forward (Benteke, Soldado, Damiao or Lewandowski), a good winger/attacking midfielder, a left back, another midfielder and there'd still be around £25m left. It's silly money.

Benteke is staying and Lewa is too good for Spurs.

Real Madrid play 4231/433 so this line up is quite feasible:
Alonso Illarramendi
Bale Isco Ronaldo
Benzema

Bale on the right, cutting in? I can see that too, but what I'm getting at is not that Bale and Ronaldo play on the left and there we have a direct conflict between the two. The problem is that what they both "do" is take long runs from the halfway line to the box. IMHO you can only have one player who holds the ball for that long and creates the dramatic finale for his teammates. And IMHO Bale is no Ronaldo when it comes to tearing apart back lines and creating the scoring opportunity. Ronaldo can work tight spaces; Bale can develop that aspect of his game but as of right now that's just his game. Bale creates it, but he needs space to do what he does.

I just don't see Ronaldo and Bale working well together.

And what of Modric or Ozil? I just checked online and I see no transfer rumors concerning the brilliant German and I just can't see him being relegated Real's bench.

more like

Alonso Illarramendi
Isco Ozil Bale
Ronaldo
with Modric, Khedira, Benzema, De Maria, Callejon in back up

I really hope that £81m wasn't bid for Gareth Bale. The transfer market is already ridiculous, but it's in severe danger of outright destruction if that sort of thing starts happening.
