Gareth Bale bid imminent?

Yeah, but Poch is keen (and thus far Levy has wanted to keep him happy):

"If we have the option to sign him why not?" Pochettino said when asked about Bale. "He is a great player and he is the kind of player that can improve our squad. This is the type of profile that we sign."

HAHA!

Where? On Fifa.

What profile is that?

Only way you'd be able to afford Bale is if you gave them Kane + £££ for him.

Bale isn't going anywhere.

If Bale had flopped and Real had looked to move him on for £40m-£50m then I could have seen Spurs activating that clause... as it is I cant see them selling and even if they did the money they would want would be likely to be in the £100m+ territory and I'm not sure i can see anybody other than PSG and City being able to pay that - I dont even think we would pay £100m for Bale as he would be 27 in the summer and probably want a five year contract at £350k a week plus no doubt a nice signing on fee so almost £200+m in total.

Bale for £100m? Woody would be all over it!

I think Woodward is looking for any excuse to spend 100m+ on a player. A chance to sign a Bale or Muller and we'd be all over it.

You realise that this isn't about the here and now - right? Instead it's about 2 or 3 seasons down the road, when Bale is 29 - 30.

It could be at a earlier point. Some rumors last summer said that his family was homesick and would like the kids to grow up in the UK. Could be bullshit, but could very well be true. Also, he could play "home" and still be chasing big things.

Won't by then he would have signed another contract with Real, making anything Spurs had written in non existent?

Even when Bale is 30+, he will still have WAY better options than Tottenham.

Surely no one believes this anymore? We are literally always apparently trying to bid for Bale because the press can't be bothered to make up new BS to spew. None of these stupid articles have any form of evidence or anything to even slightly suggest it is true.

Bidding on Bale, Messi, Neymar so far.

Who's next? place a bid on me next, I'll actually play for United. just won't make it out of the reserves.

Journalists use United for clicks, agents use United for leverage in negotiations.. it's never gonna change.

Doesn't help that Woody's the biggest transfer muppet of us all either :)

This

Although you'll find that they are people that still believe that Ronaldo is coming 'home' so they will be a portion that buy into these rumours.

One day we're going to sign someone of this ilk, I can feel it!!

Like Journey said: Don't stop believing :D

Problem with these rumours now is, we have Mourinho!

Personally, under him, the rumoured player we're after, I believe we have a bery good chance of getting. Under LVG, all my optimism had died!

Unfortunately, I think this is how how all journalists and player agents feel too!

Him and Griezmann are my two dream signings, sadly neither will actually happen though.

Bale won't be going anywhere. Ronaldo is already 31 and he will replace Ronaldo as Madrid's poster boy. We should go for someone more obtainable like Griezmann or Reus.

Bale will be a priority this summer, but I agree with other posters on here, it will be difficult.

Shrew. Berry Shrew.

Signing Bale would see United, to quote a famous footbaling commentator Alan Partridge, playing "liquid" football, quite literally.

Erm, no thanks ? Not for that price anyway. Also, lol if people think Bale wants to come here after just winning the CL, enjoys working with Zidane and is comfortably settled in Madrid. Dream On..

Rumours that he wants to return to the Premier League.
