Gareth Bale bid imminent?

Would like to think it's because he is a excellent player and will enhance the team tremendously. Even though i'd love this to happen this just seems like more posturing from the club.

Bale will be 27, is massively reliant on his pace and is slightly injury prone. I think the time may have passed unless we can get him for a reasonable price. The talk of paying a record fee for him is sickening, we'd be mugs.

Why would Bale leave because Benitez left? Ridiculous logic..
Rumours abound in Spain that they had a special relationship. Benitez used to let Bale have his left overs, which were enough to save Bale spending any money on food whatsoever. He was minted, as you'd expect. So now he's wondering if it's even worth hanging on. Unless he finds a local Aldi, he's on the way to Manchester.

If he somehow did come, I could fully see him being average.

We're good at making that happen.

Ask Real is there any chance they would sell, ask Bale would he be interested. If we get a no to both of those questions, then can we please just forget it and STOP WASTING TIME ON UNOBTAINABLE TRANSFERS.

Yep, that's how transfers work, particularly the huge ones. In complete openness and honesty.

Please don't believe the media nonsense. I would imagine we're keeping tabs on every 'top' player in the World; it would be daft not to keep a regular dialogue with their agents. Doesn't mean we're investing much valued time in "preparing" any bids.

I hate the freakin transfer window when every lazy hack 'links' United to whoever he or she feels like. What has happened to journalism? Do these chancres have editors?

I was listening to the radio when driving home and one of the journalists used an analogy for our business that apparently came from Woodward himself.

Basically Woodward sees the transfer market a bit like a golf course, he wants to get as many balls (potential transfers) onto the green as possible, and then we decided which ones we want to chip in. So Bale might be one of the balls on the green, but if we can't do it we'll chip in the Felipe Anderson ball instead.

He's going to be disappointed when he tries to lick that cookie only to find that he's just dropped it.

Ah. Just realised, i thought you're talking about bale being cup tied
No worries Sky. I was telling Paz it's unlikely that Madrid will allow a star leaving in January - not only because they still competing in the 2 big trophies but it's difficult to find a quality replacement in January who's not cup tied. A couple of Dortmund players are almost all I can think of.

:lol::lol::lol:

Only hours after Rafa has been sacked and we have somehow got the troops together, preparing a bid and leaked it to the press all at the same time who have found out that bale is "disappointed" and "concerned".

All in a matter of hours.

My word !

A good agent at work I presume...

As if he's going to leave because of Rafa ffs. As long as Zidane plays him centrally he will stay. And Zidane will play him centrally. These stories are a joke

If Rafa had stayed, they would have said that "Real's ongoing struggles are seen to be an opportunity for other clubs to pursue Bale".

He's not coming here in January.

He won't leave in Jan and not in the summer either if Zidane plays him in the middle.

I see the shitmerchants at the daily rags are out in full force at this stage of the transfer window already. Bale, Neymar... why don't we go the whole hog and get Messi, Ronaldo, Senor Ratbite(c) and Benzema as well?

Benzema
Neymar --- Messi --- Suarez
Blind --- Martial
Bale --- Jones - Smalling - Ronaldo

Too weak out wide imho.

News just in Man Utd considering swoop for in favour Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane. First training session has put top clibs on alert as Ramos scores five and James Rodrigez scores 9.

We are buying

Sneijder (as is the case in every window)
Bale - 75M
Neymar - 140M
Kane - 40M
Mane - 40M
Sane - 35M
Anderson - 36M

I don't watch Castilla or anything, but you'd think Zidane might want to play James as a 10 considering his own career.

How do you know we are wasting time on this? ITS THE MIRROR.

I don't understand the part about him being injury-prone. In his 3 last season for Spurs he played a total of 99 League matches. In his first 2.5 seasons at Real he has played 71. If 170 League matches in 5.5 seasons is the definition of someone being injury-prone, then practically every outfield-player in the P.L is injury-prone

Was just about to type up my similar thoughts:

I do think that Bale would add another dimension to our current squad, due to his pace and ability to score goals. Think we'd get a few good years out of him at least and believe he would improve our current setup. However, the sums of money that are being presented seem crazy to me, for the reasons mentioned above. He relies heavily on pace and as that starts to leave him I don't see him being very effective as he's not the most shifty player. Add to that his injury record recently.

At the time of his transfer to Madrid he was obviously coming off some great seasons, but I still think it's insane they paid more for him than Ronaldo.

For something around 50M I'd say that's reasonable but record fee does not make sense to me.

Bale is better than James though, and James can play out wide. I can't see them moving him inside in place of Bale, particularly as Bale has been doing quite well of late in that position.

Gareth Bale has been spotted meeting Wayne Rooney for a drink today, is this the first sign that he's on his way to United?
