Television Gangs of London -Sky Atlantic

I think season 2 is a fairly significant downgrade. I was a bit over half way through and stopped watching it. I will pick it up again at some point, but I haven't felt a burning need to.

Just finished season 2. I agree it wasn't as good as the first season but I still found it very entertaining and worthwhile.

My experience too.

It just feels like it’s lost a lot of what made S1 interesting. S1 had that absolutely bonkers bar fight very early on but all we’ve had in S2 so far are a few gun battles full of dodgy CGI.

Agreed he's such a one-pace, one dimensional character.
They all are aren't they?

I don't watch this show for the acting, I watch it for the action and that was lacking this season...

Yeah but they work as the characters for the oddity of their world.

We don't know enough about Elliott as we do many of the others. We've seen what, one scene that doesn't even explain the situation with his wife and child just an overhead shot of the coffins.

That's literally all the back story we have of him besides knowing his dad used to box. Even then what have we known of that character? He said "Elliot? Is that you?" when he came into his flat.

I understand the slow burn and slow development but as a character I can't see Elliot has given the audience ANY reason to invest in him emotionally. He's just playing a stereotypically brooding black male. That's literally the extent of his character. I felt the feud between the two families that developed after Finn Wallace died was far more an interesting story that didn't really need Elliot's nonsense shoehorned into it

I'll be honest I never really found all that other stuff interesting, it was a vehicle to show crazy action, for me. I kinda lost a lot of interest in the 1st season when the action subsided a bit. This season has been worse in that aspect. Outside of the action I can take it or leave it, it's watchable but not very compelling...

I think I'm salty as I wanted more action tbf.

Can't wait for Luan to survive a certain death again, and violently murder 5-6 people!
