Television Game of Thrones (TV) • The watch has ended

I dunno, they have to have a force for her. Vale knights and what's left on the Iron islands?

I bet she has a fair few next episode, they can't have another big battle with one side left without a decent army.

Dany's side only needs a few thousand men to hold the line whilst the dragons reek havoc.

Against human armies dragons = nigh unstoppable, because morale wise they'll shatter the hell out of any force. No mercenary company is going to stand and fight to the death against a napalm dropping giant lizard.

Dunno, the Golden bank knew full well about the dragons when they agreed to send their army. I reckon there'll be another twist to the dragon story yet.

They'll have dragon shooting apparatus at the ready. Because having a couple of unchallenged dragons flying around wouldn't make good TV.

True, but you have to wonder how honest Cersei was with them? Did she exaggerate and say she'd solved the dragon problem with the ballistas?

I agree that there may be a twist though, some weapon to even it up a bit.

Vale Knights were at the battle, they're the ones with the blue shields standing next to Brienne at the start. They just didn't have their horses.

I can only assume Riverrun Lords get involved as they're the only ones who have some kind of force left.

Cersei is one of the big bads of the show though, right from the start. She and Jaime kill Roberts hand don’t they? Jaime tried to murder Bran to protect her. She’s responsible for Roberts death too through Lancel. I could go on...

He (Jaime) goes through a redemption arc while she continues to deepen into her crazy evil bitch form. I don’t think it’s odd at all if she’s the final boss here.
I can definitely see Jaime completing his story arc by going from killing the mad king to finally killing the mad queen.

We've seen how ineffective those are though, even if you manage to hit the dragon (which is flying at you and preparing to scorch you to shit) you need a critical hit or you'll just make it angry. If it reaches you then you're screwed because it'll burn the hell out of you.

Did they realise how ineffective their cavalry would be against the wights and just not bother to tell the dothraki .

I would guess so yeah. The blue shields with the bird = Knights of Vale.

The bankers supporting Cersei is really weird.

They got their debts paid, get the feck out of that war. Everyone accepts that Cersei is in a shit position, and she was in an even worse one when Dany still had her army.

Even if Cersei somehow won, nobody wants her to be Queen outside of the Lannister lands. Her only ally is one of the biggest cnuts in Westeros who the bank should know will turn on her as soon as he can.

Just thinking about it... Basically, the horsemen were Shaw, Bailly, Lindelof and Young, who were carried all this time by Night King aka David De Gea and in the final moment, his momentary mistake cost them their season.

Stannis’ performance in the Battle of the Blackwater is still my favourite by any character in the entire series.

The man epitomises what it is to be both a warrior and a leader, unlike Jon Snow, would couldn’t lead a dog on a walk.
Sees most of his men & ships on fire...

“Prepare to land”

They were caught ball-watching and missed the attacker completely. NK parries but can't do everything. The entire team crumbles.

They were relying on Craster's youth system too much, spent big on Viserion but too little too late in the end.

This is well-done

Winterfell United 1 (Stark 90+5) White Walker Wanderers 0
Not since Manchester United's dramatic comeback against Bayern in the 1999 Champions League final has a game of this magnitude been turned on its head at the very death, with United wonderkid Arya Stark pouncing on some sloppy defending by the White Walker rearguard late on to fire a winner into the despairing Wanderers captain and talisman, the Night King.

Questions will now be asked of this White Walker side who, like PSG, have failed to live up to expectations once again despite astronomical investment in the playing squad

They've got to have more soldiers, Lord Robin Arryn is still practising his Bow and Sword skills at the Eyrie.

Where was Lord Royce he also disappeared.

Gotta hand it to Cersei - been sipping wine for 8 seasons and still has her butt firmly planted on the iron throne while only having left KL one time to go to Winterfell. Boss lady. Prepare for her to pull even more evil shit than she already has before.

Something tells me we ll forget about E3 pretty quick.

I'm watching it again and I have to say that as funny as the debate has been, it is 100% true that tactically they couldn't have gone about the battle worse.

Fecking morons
I assume for budget reasons they wanted to get rid of the Dothrakhi and Unsullied early on and move the battle inside Winterfell where less extras and CGI was required, but.. like.. surely they could've thought of a smarter way for them to go out than that!

They should have had all them motherfeckers in the Crypt die. In that "safe" place. Then from under all the dead bodies, Tyrion climbs out. Man hides under dead bodies and survives using his brain as usual. Instead, we got people hiding behind pillars and nearly all surviving.

Why? Why is it so incredible that a highly trained assassin would be able to sneak past unsuspecting walkers? People seem to think this is something unfathomable.

And who can actually change her face as well.

It has been obvious for many seasons that her training was most likely going to be more useful than for mere revenge.

And didn't Bran give her the dragonglass dagger? Almost as if he could predict events.
