Television Game of Thrones (TV) • The watch has ended

Definitely with Ninja on this one, I cant imagine many people were surprised by the feelings revealed between Jon and Dany. My objection to it was more that it ended up eclipsing Dany's other, motherly love, which was a bridge too far for me, after the amount of emphasis they have placed on the dragons being her babies.
Noone was surprised because we've been hearing that it will happen for ages. The actual interactions between the characters have been meaningless and yet they're suddenly puppies in love. It's weird.

There was a long winter previously thats been mentioned. Though im not sure if Jon knows about the story and theres previous of this happening? My assumption was this is what happened, hence why he needed as many soliders as possible (hence the idea of peace between all those warring as this is the biggest war and everything else is smalltime compared).
But yeah, I may just be guessing but I cant fully remember it being said what they can do once winter fully arrives.
Didn't that initial long winter end with the wall being built after the war was won ? Maybe someone knows exactly what I'm talking but I'm sensing a massive plothole.

Yeah 8000 years ago when Brandon Stark was still King right?

I saw someone going into considerable detail about all this on YouTube but I don't know how much of it came from the TV show and how much from the books. I assumed the majority of it was substantiated by the books.

Address her by her proper title, ya little bollocks.

Daenerys Stormborn of the House Targaryen, First of Her Name, the Unburnt, Queen of the Andals and the First Men, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, Breaker of Chains, and Mother of Dragons.

Something like that, yes!
By trying to prove their existence, Jon has given the army of the dead their biggest weapon to date whereas we're not even sure of how the WW would have gotten past the wall anyway (walking around it is the most logical solution but they never mentioned it).

Oh yeah and Jon Snow. A fecking bastard.

I'm really hoping they do some cool stuff with the Wall. At least to explain why the Night King can't just get a fecking boat. He and his squad seem to have some issue with water. Although they managed to get that dragon out of there somehow.

Ahh right. Thats why I couldnt remember lol.
As much as we sometimes try to make sense of things, sometimes its probably just that, there is no sense. Whether its the case here or not we shall see.
Same time, maybe Jon doesnt know the magic keeps them out and just expected they would crash through like the wildlings tried? Dunno. Just throwing it out there as possibilities.

Probably yeah, since he knows nothing.

Genuine question: Would Daenerys receive even more flak from show-watchers if she wasn't perceived to be good-looking? I feel as though that's the only reason she's exempt from criticism in some people's eyes.

Exempt from criticism? She's one of the most criticised characters in the show, if not the most. Just how much more would you like her to be criticised?

I said 'even more flak' in the first instance and the 'exempt from criticism' part relates to those who see nothing wrong with her. Two totally different subsets of viewers.

Don't think so. The whole dumb blonde bimbo thing wouldn't quite work out. And I don't think it's possible for her to get any more flak.

She would also have been dead by now.

She's a disastrous decision-maker. In a show where you are traditionally murdered, along with your entire family, for even one misstep or misjudgement, the fact her (and Snow, for that matter - another terrible decision-maker) are still alive, let alone leading the race to win their respective battles, is just pure, well, 'fantasy'.

Nothing related to the finale, just pics from throughout the seasons for anyone worried.

I'm pretty sure Bran is the only reason they can cross the wall now and the only reason they haven't yet is cause he was baiting Jon to get a dragon. The night king seems to be a seer of sorts although it's not really explained much at all. The wall like the cave is guarded by magic, once the NK marked Bran it rendered it useless. Once he marks you there's nowhere that he can't follow you to.

Must be a nightmare for them to clear out all the stuff between shots. A single water bottle here or there during the take and fans would make a big deal out of the blooper.

Something really cool I found; it treats Robert's rebellion like it's actual military history. I highly recommend Baz's channel if you're into history in general.

NOTE: there are no spoilers, as all of this is prior to the TV show and the major plot points have already been covered on the show. But I guess technically it might have some history from the books or somewhere else. Again, no spoilers so don't tase me bro.

No GoT is infinitely better IMO. However, there are similarities as well. The point I was trying to convey is Lost stuck to the same formula throughout the whole show (at least I think it did) and it suffered as a result. While GoT may have sped up significantly this season (and probably next), I'm at least happy we will get a proper ending.

Maybe I'm not remembering Lost properly - it was a while ago. However, I do remember the disappointment in how questions were never answered.
Worst ending ever. Ruined a great show.
I don't think GoT has as many mysteries or plots as Lost did.

Nice video.

Do lots of people think Khaleesi is hot? She's bang average.
it's the silver hair. With her normal hair next to someone like Kate Beckinsale she's bang average. Course nobody would turn her down but just purely on looks if you're single and had a pick she wouldn't be top of the list.

She's not even the same species as Kate Beckinsale.

Kate Beckinsale is absolute perfection.

Why isn't Daenerys hellbent on revenge towards the Starks as she is the Lannisters? The Starks led Robert's rebellion just as much as House Lannister.

Seems rather odd and a rather contrived omission.
The Starks fought honourably in war. The Lannisters murdered her brother's wife and children.

Because of that entire conversation Jon and Daenerys had in episode three.
