Television Game of Thrones (TV) • The watch has ended

I'm wondering because I have had this theory for a couple of seasons now that the Night King might be a Targaryan - maybe even the Mad King (sounds stupid but there seems to be a lot of family connections GoT so I wouldn't put it past them)
Doubtful, there would've been some hint already if that were the case. Also, the white walkers were there since the ancient times (they already attacked; the wall was built generations ago to stop them; everyone think that there are some ancient fairy tale; etc) and we were shown how they were created (again, some very long time ago). Mad King was alive what, a couple of decades ago? Less than 30 years I guess, looking at Jaime, for example, who already served him then.

It looks much more likely that the dragons and the white walkers are natural enemies. The dead don't like fire and even the series are called ice and fire something. Also, the dragon glass and the valyrian steel (forged in the dragon's breath) seem to be the only things that can kill the walker (granted, we don't know if dragon glass is actually connected to dragons, but you have to assume that there is a connection)

the ending should see walkers and zombies approach all humans and dragons. The dragons and walkers look at each other, the walkers climb on top of the dragons and kill everybody else and live happily ever after...

Hey,

can't post on the GOT TV thread since i'm a newbie, but here's a a link of a youtube video that gathers many short videos from blurays bonus features, this includes the story of the Tower of Joy narrated by Jamie Lannister. If you could post it on the thread so it's available for anyone who wants a bit more of context and background without stumbling on book stuff, it's an hour and a half watch, with many stories from diferent POVs. (It has spanish subs, hope you don't mind)

A newb pm me. If anyone interested. Thanks dan

Damn that's a long wait. I understand why they're doing it but still. :(

Any pointers where to find them? This looks promising

Here's the Kingsguard one with Jaime, Bronn and a reading of the Tower of Joy scene. The rest of the videos are on the same channel.

By the way I was surprised when I read here that not all Targariens are immune to fire (assumed that something was just off about Viserys).

How would Jon Snow prove/find out that he is a Targarien too? I expected it to be through the fire somehow but now it's either through the Lord of Light or he will share the same connection with Dany's dragons
There's been repeated examples of magic only passed down to one of a generation of offspring; The Starks have Bran (Arya notwithstanding, but she has a whole other thing going on), the kid who took Bran to the North whose sister is only good with a bow, Blondie being the Fire Queen while her brother is useless, Tommen being the only one capable of sky-diving.

I think there's a theme there...

So what did everyone think of Daenerys giving Tyrion the hand job?
Total plagiarism

Not necessarily a plagiarism, assuming that next season we'll finally see Dany in Westeros. We must not forget that Robert started the rebellion because his fiancee was taken from him but the Starks lost their patriarch and his heir because of the Mad King. So, when the mad king's daughter comes and tells them to bend the knee, there may be some objections. But Sansa knows Tyrion, she knows that he has respected here in the past. Sansa has also involved LF in the war against the Boltons and now she may look for a way to take him out. Tyrion's skills in politics may come in handy to bring the two houses closer.

I thought he meant plagiarism with regards to the hand job reference...

Someone missed the joke.

I've been thinking that the future looks a little too easy for Dany unless;

When the Night King attacks, is it possible that he might be able to control Drogon and kill the other two dragons? It would certainly level the playing field a little...

haha I just finished watching that. They need to get SLJ to do season (or episode) reviews.

Just finished season six, probably one of the weaker seasons, imo, seemed to have too many storylines, a bit disjointed, and filled out with drawn out sequences. 6 - 8 were among the weakest episodes of the entire show. And from my understanding alot was written by the HBO writers as it has now surpassed the books and did not have the source material to fail back on. That said, it was still a pretty enjoyable seaon

Does anyone know how many seasons/episodes are left? 13 episodes seem to be mentioned. I dont want it to drag on too much, reducing the quality of the show but think they could do 2 more 10 episode seasons.

Two seasons supposedly but they will be shorter (fewer episodes).

It was supposed to be 15 episodes left split over two seasons (7-8 or 8-7) but there have been rumours about 13 episodes lately. It'll probably be either one of those options. I like that they won't milk it out just to generate more money.

God damn, Martin, just finish the fecking books.

If I'd known for certain he'll write them, I won't watch any more of the show, but at this point, maybe this is all we'll get.

I don't know if the guy has enough years in him to finish it at this rate. Doesn't he use some ancient program that doesn't even have spellcheck to write them? Like, Windows 3.1 or something?

Poor George, any conversation about his writing process inevitably breaks down to "Yeah but he'll probably die before he finishes them."

If I was him I wouldn't finish them out of spite. I'd leave instructions for my agent/advisor/whatever to post on blog/facebook/twitter after my death, "Unlucky you horrible bunch of cuntflaps. Love, fatty oxo".

It would be the ultimate death for a writer who likes to shock you with the unexpected, to be fair.

Will it even be summer? Now that winter has officially arrived, weren't they planning to delay filming this year so the weather is more in sync.
Summer is a >2 month delay already, right? Though I'm sure they'd love to drag this out to keep HBONow subscribers on the hook.
