Television Game of Thrones (TV) • The watch has ended

 Vanilla

So the only way to defeat the white walkers is to kill the leader? How do you kill the normal dead ones? (do they have a name?) Some of them were walking around with arrows in their heads.

Just watched episode 8. 10/10 for me, second best one after Blackwater, it was like walking dead with better production.

Epic episode, thoroughly enjoyed that one. Other than the fight scene/ Jon Snow being a generalised badass that's been discussed extensively, a few more notes:

I'm glad to see Cersei suffering. She's not suffered enough yet IMO.

Ramsay will soon get what's coming to him.

And finally, can someone please explain what the feck is going on with the Arya/ Jaqen Hagar storyline? I don't understand what the hell is going on. They speak in riddles and I'm always scratching my head at any scene involving them. A good summary would be appreciated :)

She is training to be a faceless man or assassin, something along those lines.

They're mainly killed by fire, that's their biggest weakness (they're called wights), although judging by this episode they can also be killed by getting their heads crushed.

Defeating them by killing their leader would be too cliche for me, but I can see it being true. Even though their leader seems to be the walker that turned the baby into one of them and raised the dead at the end of the episode, in the scene with the baby there were 12 other silhouettes with him, so maybe there isn't a ''leader'', but 13 equal white walkers that rule the others. Feck knows.

Excellent Duffy, you vinegarittes are supporting Jamie wanker Oliver. While the valiant vanillas are obviously influenced by exceptional Australian food as seen in @mel snapchats.

Do the Aussies even have real food? Vinegar's where the shit's at. Come down to Italy and I'll make you taste some lovely stuff.

Vanilla?!

Great episode by the way. It seems like they put 90% of their efforts and resources into this one and made the previous ones this season with the remaining scraps.

Tyrion was good, he might make Daneyres interesting. I'm liking Arya's story, it's going to be slow but I think it'll be interesting to watch. Cersei suffering is beautiful.

That final 20 minutes was amazing! Finally we got a sense just how much of a threat the white walkers are! Great viewing. Hopefully they don't just disappear for 2 epsiodes, I want more!!

Also, I heard vanilla too :nervous:

Amazing episode. Am I right in thinking one of Aryas targets is in the city where she is? Forgot his name... The kingsguard who killed the guy who taught arya how to use a sword.

Meryn Trant. They haven't shown him in Braavos yet so he might still be travelling with Mace Tyrell.

Also, where the hell is Varys?

Great episode. I thought he said Vanilla as well

I think that Olly kid is going to kill that Sam guy, he looked really suspicious giving him the food. And the old man at Castle Black probably wont let the wildlings or jon snow inside

EDIT: Previous posts answered my question

Best episode in a long time!

Incredible episode. A lot of progress with many of the characters.
Arya finally doing something. Dany and Tyrion chatting was as good as you'd expect. Sansa finally speaking her mind. Cersei suffering, although i hope she'll die by the sword of a likeable character, not by the sword of the Westerosi equivalent of IS.

And then it is Jon Muhfuhkin Snow. Wow. Just wow. Him, Tormund (one of the coolest characters, by far) and Mr Giant will become quite a crew when arriving south of the wall.

But, I do have some questions. If they know the wights are "allergic" to fire, why don't the wildlings/crows use it a bit more effectively? Why isn't fire a basic part of their arsenal? And, the wights seem to be good fighters in a way, but none of them can use a bow and arrow?
Anyways, I won't be a party pooper. Brilliant episode from start to finish.

Will be so annoying if Ramsey ends up doing some major damage to Stannis' army somehow with 20 men. I want Stannis to go in and get rid of the Boltons but you just know something will go wrong with this show. Will probably die.

Is the fire god the real god then? Is the religion of kings landing got any evidence of being real like how melisandra get's visions etc from the fire god

So who else has a Valyrian sword now? Brienne was given one from Jaime, Jon Snow has one.. anyone else? Are we lead to believe these swords are rare, or is there some blacksmith churning these out somewhere? Gendric was a Blacksmith perhaps he can make them if they can find him and his boat.

Why doesn't Tommen just banish that cult holding his mother and Maergery?

"the work continues"
:nervous::drool:

I'm guessing he was referring to whatever he's doing to the Mountain. Can't wait to see what happens with him, the guy was already a beast!

That's the one. I think she will kill him first. Varys will probably appear on the next 2 episodes. Or he could be on Gendrys boat  Also I see something happening with the hounds brother... Possibly helping Cersei escape

Apparently the other valyrian steel swords are the ones Jaime and Joffrey had. Jaime gave his to the Briean and Joffrey's was buried with him when he died or something. Why would they waste such a rare sword on Joffrey?!

And why did Ned Stark allow his big valyrian sword get melted into two swords for Jaime and Joffrey

I heard each episode cost over a million to make.

It sounds like the common people are with the cult and if he sends soliders to just go in and kill them then he puts the lives of Margaery and Cersei at risk.

With the 20 men, it could be that Ramsay might try to trick Stannis. Perhaps he may pretend to be loyal to Stannis and his claim to the throne, say he'll fight against his father then end up stabbing Stannis in the back.

Fair enough. I think their leader made a similar point to granny Tyrell in the previous episode, although I still feel they could easily be dealt with if need be.

Closer to 6. It's by far the most expensive TV show to produce.

first seasons maybe, but now i dont know... there is something different.

all the wildlings dressed exactly the same with the commando outfit bought in Walmart... thats not HBO quality, im sorry.

edit. HBO and their budgets!! Rome and Deadwood were really expensive, and they got cancelled because of it. But at least they never lowered the production quality. they just cancelled the project.

I think they hit that dilemma with GOT... they decided to carry on but the production standards are clearly not the same.

High Sparrow is doing in the name of God. King can't wage a war against the Gods?

Yeah, I think Ned was too busy having his head on a spike to care.

Actor's probably wanting more money? depleting the shows budget?

CGI costs man.

How do you know the outfits were bought at Walmart, could be bought at Cabella's :P
