Yeah 3 goals in 4 matches is really impressive. Really exciting to watch matches where there are hardly any goals.
And this Euros has been kind of shite because of the lack of goals. Common man this tournament has to be one of the worst in goals per match average.

Wonderful display of creativity. That said, Ronaldo made that goal through sheer athleticism and hunger. Can't understand why Renato Sanches was being praised when he just ran forward in open space unchallenged. The reason he got that space and the reason Nani had a target to aim for was because Ronaldo made a fantastic run to draw the defenders away and to then get away from the defenders.
Love that slow-motion of Ronaldo's smile even before Quaresma heads the ball. Never enjoyed a Ronaldo's smirk so much

Disappointing game, Portugal had a spell in the second half that was decent and the 2nd half of extra time was good but the rest was much too cautious and lacking in quality in the final 3rd.
Sanches is very unpolished but his energy really lifted Portugal and he played a part in them winning it. I actually was most impressed with Pjaca, he looks a promising young talent. Modric clearly wasn't fully fit and without him on his game Croatia don't flow as well.

I agree mate, tonight both teams approached the match timidly. Only in the last 5 mins of the 2nd half of extra time they showed that they really wanted to win.
They played okay against Iceland, but their finishing was crap. Finishing is a big part of football.
They were crap against Austria.
They finally found their attacking game in the last match, while totally forgetting how to defend, which is a big part of football.
Also conceding twice within 5mins after their 2 goals speaks of big concentration/statistical issues.
All in all, three points and a third place with a +0 goal difference in a group of Iceland, Hungary and an underperforming Austria is a poor performance in my opinion.

I think it was a pass from looking at the replays. Regardless it doesnt matter, but outside of the boot on the floor means it could only go in one direction which was in the direction of Ronaldo.
But I think Croatia were naive. One of the players (think it was #14) had to take down Sanches on the edge of the box. It was basically a 4 v 4 situation.

Yet, you do somehow always to manage to make it to the quarters and semis and stink up the tournaments right up to the end.
We have played plenty of good games since 2004. But i don't care, they can continue this way rather than having one win in knockout matches since 1996.

I just don't know what to say. It was an ugly tactical battle and I feel once Čačić saw we can't score and we're not dangerous enough he should have put Kalinić and Pjaca in more earlier. Mandžukić was totally useless which is his norm and as soon as Kale went in we looked a bit more dangerous and Pjaca when he came in cause havoc in Portugal defense few times. I just don't know why he waited so much with subs.
I get it was a tight game but generally he has problems reacting to when game isn't working for him. In first 3 games he didn't make a sub until 80th or so minute and today we needed something new in attack.
I even think Kalinić and Pjaca should have started, at least one of them.
That's what you get when you have a poor coach overall. Santos outsmarted him.
I'm just sorry for the guys. We have a great team I think and for some of them Russia will be the last chance to do something. It was a last game for Srna though and I feel really sad for him.
