One of the best 18 year olds I"ve ever seen .. plays for Palmeiras

Here's the goal he scored yesterday

Just making this since I super recomended Douglas Costa back in like 2009 and no one listened :(

This time you guys should e-mail the crap out of Woodward so you guys don't miss out on him

Pep did!

I read that he scored twice and set up Barrios too. The videos in the Felipe Anderson thread were very impressive

Is he a first team player? Read he just played 3 games or something.

All these tricks and goals are from his youth games?

Well LVG hates Brazilians so it won't happen while he's in charge.

His goals last night were in the first team against Cruzeiro

He comes from the bench oftenly.

Here is a few plays from him at the U20 world cup (where he was 3 years younger than most players)

I think his ideal role is in the hole like prime Rooney

Jaysus, kind of a reminder of why we love Brazilians so much. They seem to have a bit of a preternatural relationship with the ball at times.

Yeah, this ain't happening. By the time we would be even looking at him he'll have a pre-contract at Barca/Madrid. Wait and see.

3:28 my fav skill..

btw last time we were in for young potentially world class brazilian? Anderson? okay maybe Neymar

Gabriel Jesus scored twice tonight for Palmeiras.. Im telling you, get him while hes still a teenager and before some marketing agency sign him and turn him into an expensive player

With the talent he seems to have, why isn't he already signed up?

Can he pass? How many positions can he play? I saw in the videos: #10 (primarily), #9 and #11 on his back.. so AM/SS, CF and LOM/LW? What are his weaknesses thus far?

Am I imagining things or did you make this exact post yesterday as well?

He looks like an incredible talent. I do just wonder why nobody has snapped him up yet though? I know he's really young but we've all seen Brazilians come to Europe even younger...

he plays for a very big club, who in recent years have been able to keep promising players for longer than before

Jaysus, kind of a reminder of why we love Brazilians so much. They seem to have a bit of a preternatural relationship with the ball at times.

This was from a recent Jonathon Wilson article on LVG and goes someway to explaining how his philosophy might explain his aversion to Brazilian players inclined to flair and expression.

“What enriches you is the game, not the result,” he told Sid Lowe in Issue One of The Blizzard. “The result is a piece of data. The birth rate goes up. Is that enriching? No. But the process that led to that? Now that’s enriching. Fulfilment comes from the process.

“You debate the game, not the results. Results are not debatable, they are. Do you buy a paper on a Monday morning for a euro and the only thing in it is list after list of results? Do you go into a football stadium, in the last minute of a game, have a look at the scoreboard and leave? You watch 90 minutes, which is the process.”

For Van Gaal, magnificently thick-skinned and convinced of his own correctness as he is, details such as results are – for now – irrelevant. What matters isn’t the lack (or surfeit) of goals but the process. For him, you don’t win games by scoring goals, you score goals by winning games. He is not concerned by moments of individual genius that can turn a match; what he wants is to dominate midfield to such an extent that the impact of such moments of freakish brilliance are minimised. Win the game of control in midfield and the goals will come.

Yea, but it wasn't replied to and was in the wrong thread, so tried again...
Not being able to get a work permit is a petty big drawback
Also what does he have 5 games in the Sao Paulo league to date
I think we need to up our game with these potential international wunderkinds, so getting more of them on the books for a relative pittance can only be a good thing.
Both! He may as well be called Catholic Godson.

Is he better than Gabriel Barbosa?

I must say it would have been awkward if one says Jesus is playing for the Red Devils.

Joking aside, it's a shame it will never happen since that post by Classical Mechanic explains a lot why Brazilian players don't fit with Van Gaal's philosophy... which is somewhat weird (or indicative of the downward spiral of the game in Brazil) since I have seen Brazilian national teams controlling the ball like no other.

He looks fantastic, strong on the ball, fast and not afraid to take defenders on. Only worry would be that if he was at OT he would try a few flicks and they wouldn't come off and LVG would bench him.

Is he better than Gabriel Barbosa?
I like Gabigol, but I'd say Gabriel Jesus looks to be an even better player. I think Gabigol has some questions about his mentality too, so it'll be interesting to see how he turns out.
